banned/hacked.

there has been a rash of hackings recently. admin of l2rpa among them, and he picked up a trojan from eogamer.

i think someone has been neglecting to check their ads for viruses. blah folk have also been hacked.
well gameguard need new fix?

btw is not only ban!ppl are taking mail about game guard problem and not be banned.i think that make so strong protection with last update that make everything bot, maybe antivirus too(some antivirus find l2.bix as virus and some leave file from gameguard folders).
I have received 2 gameguard warning mails within 3 days aswell. I dont have gameguard disabled and never have. After a few mails they sent me this test program to use and I sent them the results of it, never heard anything back :o Not to mention the clanleader of one of the big clans on Naia got banned right before sieges and was eventually unbanned with an apology, but it pretty much made a huge difference at the sieges.
the funny part about that gg issue is, it apparently doesnt stop radar or bot programs. it just stops legit players from using antivirus software or software like gamecam. if they just would start adding software that really annoys the legit player to the blacklist, gg would be a nice thing, like that it is only annoying
If by "it" his sig means "speak english", then Italians don't do "it" better. Anyway...in regards to the password issue, it's not so much a trojan so much as it is a faulty password system. The way the password system or whatever is set up, you don't even have to type in your actual password in order to log in!

It has been mentioned in the past (IIRC by HGMSpam, too lazy to find the thread now) that Gameguard's purpose is not to stop botting or other 3rd party applications. It's only purpose is to prevent keyloggers from intercepting personal account info. This is not a problem for home PC's but many Korean players seem to play the game from internet cafe's where there is much more risk.

I doubt it. If that was true it should be the player decision to play with GG or not. But you cant play w/o GG w/o a risk to get banned isnt?

Correct
(c) wikipedia:

nProtect GameGuard (sometimes called GG) is an anti-cheating software developed by INCA Internet. It is installed alongside many Asian massively multiplayer online roleplaying games (MMORPGs) such as Rohan: Blood Feud, Lineage II, 9Dragons, Cabal Online, Phantasy Star Universe, GunZ: The Duel, Flyff, PangYa and Ragnarok Online to block malicious applications and common methods of cheating. nProtect GameGuard provides B2B2C (Business to Business to Consumer) security services for online game companies and portal sites.
GameGuard hides the game application process, monitors the entire memory range, terminates applications defined by the game vendor and INCA Internet to be cheats (QIP for example), blocks certain calls to DirectX functions and Windows APIs, Keylogs your keyboard input, and auto-updates itself to change as new threats surface.
GameGuard possesses a database on game hacks based on security references from more than 260 game clients. Some editions of GameGuard are now bundled with INCA Internet's Tachyon anti-virus/anti-spyware library, and others with nProtect KeyCrypt, an anti-keylogger software that protects the keyboard input information.
Games that use GameGuard include some releases of BlackShot,[1] Aion: The Tower of Eternity,[2] Flyff,[3] GunBound,[3] Lineage II[3] Phantasy Star Online Blue Burst,[3] Priston Tale[3] Ragnarok Online,[3] andSeal Online.[3]

Point of reference, I think I picked it up at L2 Vault, not eogamer.
then that is my fault. nevertheless the point stands.
