All servers will be down for maintenance on Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at 8am PDT / 10am CDT / 11am EDT / 3pm UTC/GMT. Estimated downtime is approximately 3 hours.
any event news :P ???
3 hrs i believe cause of transfers?
I cant believe 60 transfers can take 1 minute each... I cant transfer my toons I had on old Kain because of this small number of transfers available...
M
Why 3 hours?
Due to the fact that if they kept it at 2 hours and spent 2 hours and 10 minutes the community would freak out crying about injustice and the need for refunds. If they tell us 3 hours and take less time there will be a reduction in the impending crying.
Why 3 hours?

because they need 3 hours,
other questions?
thanks for letting us know Sace :D
I see some files updated ...

Sace, can you tell me, why my friends make transfer request 1 month ago and still waiting for it? Each restart you tell them "dont worry, you will be transfered next time" but "next time" still not happen. You say that you can transfer just 20 ppl during restart but accept 60 request. Ok, so who make this mistake? And why ppl wait for 1 month w\o possibility to play normally (coz their toon was prepared for transfer). Maybe was better to make 6 hrs restart and proceed with all request?

Btw, this restart again some players will be not transfered?

It sounds like those friends did not make a new request to be transferred. After each maintenance, the ability to sign up for a transfer re-opens, until the queue is full again.

We only said "you will be transferred next time" once, during the maintenance on November 9. That was the first time we tried to transfer 60 players per server and we encountered technical difficulties. That day, we could not make all of the 120 transfers that were queued up. On November 16, we completed the rest of those 120 transfers. Since then, the queue limit has been reduced and we have processed all transfers that were properly queued up for each maintenance.

If your friend believes they have successfully queue their character for transfer transfer, but the transfer did not happen during the next maintenance, they need to send a support ticket.
Out of curiosity - why is there never a more detailed description of what was changed/fixed in the maintendance? I doubt it's hard to make, and even just a very rough description would be enough, like:
client changes:
renamed Watermelons to Wintermelons for an upcoming event, fixed their description and appearance accordingly. (yeah, I know this isn't really necassary to mention but it's just an example)
I don't count the one item that was added; doesn't matter even if it's an event reward.
Server changes:
fixed bug a/b/c <- no description, just mention some name that best describes it.
changed this/that/something <- a little description would be required to avoid possible questions in future. Even more so if what was changed is not what you'd call favourable.

I'm saying this because if not for this, then why is the topic about the maintendance even created? It's announced in the main webpage, all players who've been playing for more than two weeks already know the maintendance is every tuesday, there are ingame announcements too.
full vit and buffs plz thx:D:D:D

Usually if they do fix bugs or add event things, Sace will say what is being done. If it is just general server stuff... then she posts what was stated in this thread.

Yes, there's one more question.
Do you always make feeble-minded posts or has there been one post with actual content among your ~30 posts? Just wondering ...

Since it's usually taking them 2 hours there must be some reason why they made it 3 hours yesterday hence I'm asking.
Do you understand that? I want to know why it's taking them one hour more than usual.
Does it really matter? it's just 1 hour...
