ok so....I didnt disable game guard. Im running 2 accounts from one computer. every few times i log in; the game re-downloads gameguard files. but i didnt disable anything.... Im new to running two accounts from one computer sooo....wth... am i supposed to do? sounds like you need to make dual boxing against the rules or fix your game guard error.

I have redownload issues still tho much fewer than before, less than one a day. Used to have 10 a day or so.

Well I have one big issue when boxing. Sometimes launching 2nd account I get an error that there is not enough disk space so file cannot be created. This happens because 1 account is already logged in and updater wants to update GG.
In order to solve this I would have to exit my 1st account update GG and launch it again but it's ******* annoying so I just hit enter button so the game could start before launcher starts checking files. I hope this is not disabling GG.

Yea my anti-virus freaked out after one of the recent GG updates.
I have noticed that, too - since a week or so, my updater downloads the gameguard.des file and one ini file (have to check next time, maybe the lineage2us.ini) pretty much every day when I log in for the first time. It would annoy me quite a lot if I'd be accused of being a Gameguard-disabling outlaw just because that software is so buggy that it fails to update/run correctly.
it is the lineage2us.ini as well, I believe. It does get annoying having one client open, go to open another one, and it says you have no read/write permissions and you have to close out the open client to "re-download" something at least once a day.

Also if this is some new anti-bot measure you are testing , just hint us at that direction so we atleast wont be freaking that the problem is coming from our side ( god forbid got banned for it ).
Since the start of this thing i have had for the first time since a LONG time problem with the gameguard inside crashing and making me close the l2 client ( all 4 of them i had ). Normally its not that much pain in the *** ( yeah right ) but it happened during the TW and it directly affected the number of badges i took at end .
New antibot protection ? :P btw..i have win7 64bit and have issue to start on first time more than 1 client..i get some "oreans" error message and sometimes the 2nd client can be started on first time and sometimes even on 10 try not..

Since u are so stuck on bots, i have to ask, but how do u play l2 on 7-8 different computers? Is this at the same time or do u randomly switch th pc u log in on throughout the day...?

I have 2 houses and i live like 2/3 of time in one and 1/3 in another, as well as laptops and work computers. I dont carry all around, except one netbook with atom N270 which can run 2 shops or 2 fame accounts.
In same time I only play max of 3, like now during sieges for fame accounts or when needed in aoe party.
In AOE one poler and buffer, one healer and one bd. Healer has shortcuts to heal poler or party, bd macro to dance, I have wide screen with poler 2/3 and buffer 1/3 for cov and buff from time to time. I only need all in the morning at 7:30 GMT+2 for the first party of the day when not many ppl are on and i get puller, healer, buffer from clan, but almost never all that is needed, otherwise only 2 are enough.

I know some ppl need only one because of the OOG clients, so only one driver needed for the whole train (one just passed me at siege now, they are so funny with one char ahead and 8 others all in one behind), but as legits it is harder to play more accounts, as everything else, for that matter, you need some brains and hardware for a legit setup.

And I thought it was just me, I am having that same, and tbh is very annoying.
I got 2 emails like that within 3 days. I contacted support about it, because I dont have GG disabled and they made me use some kind of test and send back the results, never got a reply back after that.
But atleast im not getting warnings anymore!

I havent had gameguard.des updates as well and lineage2us.ini ones since a long time (at least 4 days) even tho during event i played a lot, multiple clients on multiple computers loging in at least 3 times a day. Just a few min ago a clannie couldnt start second client during aoe because of that. That is a weird problem, hope it gets fixed soon for all.

It turns out when you repatch it does NOT patch game guard which triggered NC's witch hunt software. You have to delete the entire SYSTEM folder and do a full file check for the game guard files to repatch. Ive tested it a few times its absolutely a fact. Its actually a pretty big screw up by NC that their own patcher doesnt patch these files if they are deleted.

Recently Gameguard was updated about 2 or 3 weeks ago which now does more frequently updates and checks..
Heres what happens quite often.
The updater will frequently change the files (even if there is no real changes being made) but will update them anyways... this is a preventative also disallowing those that bypass gameguards update from being able to fully connect to the lineage II servers..
I later confirmed this by denying gameguard from updating but allowing the rest of lineage II to update.... the result was being able to load the game.. log in.. but not be able to connect to a server... The timestamp or access information mismatch error of some type would occur.
Now... if you happen to be running l2 at the time for several hours and decide to fire up another... quite often you'll fail to start because the files that need updating are in use....
It gets weirder when you bypass the update and are still able to access the servers... perhaps they give you a little bit of time just so your not totally screwed if gameguard fails to update within say 24 hours...
So in short... i think what is occuring...
NCsoft has been able to implement a little bit more of a dynamic security/preventative measure to their game.... Making it a little more difficult at times for lets say botters to join in..... but i don't think it's working fully yet.

Had exact same problem and exact same resolution. Maybe NC should fix there **** instead of refer there customer to there support group which is completely incompetent by design and shut the **** and fix there ****.

I am using large scale multiboxing on more computers, yet I am partying more than 80% of the time, mostly in RB or massive AoE parties 9 ppl or 2 parties when one is not enough...
I do believe boxing has its share in killing the MMO part in L2, but what matters is the person behind the char(s).

-pets
-pwnzorz that are too good for anyone else so they cant party "losers".

I don't know how many I need to collect to get banned from the forums, so being told "you have 2 points" is kindof irrelevant unless you know the scale of fees? is it a ban on 3? 5? 100?
Anyway, I have 2 points I haven't been able to spend yet and it's christmas.
I always prefer a live person, but I have no problem with boxing either. Yes I'm spoiled and don't like to wait. If a live person logs in i let them take the boxes space if possible.
I do try and do pick up groups as well as clan ones but even using hero shout, shouting in town, and using the lfg channel doesn't always get you the class your looking for to make your group so rather than have 7-8 ppl waiitng around for say a doomcryer. You play a dc until a live one comes around or you just keep boxing it and the 7-8 ppl in your group get xp at the same time.
I personally love playing support classes, and make toons and lvl accounts just so I can log on what is needed to get a pty going.
*Ppl being so inept at playing their favorite class, thus not getting party, demand still high, but not enough decent players, so ppl start boxing.
* Flat out greed
*Ppl not being patient enough to wait for other players to log on.
*Game becoming more clan oriented, not enough ppl WANTING to do pickup groups.

Ask anybody that has been playing lineage 2 for longer than 2 minutes and they will have a number of horror stories to tell you. Mostly from C2 and mostly from Prophets in AL parties going afk mid exp, insisting they just buff and go rest for 20 minutes is the right way to play their class etc etc. Lots of people started boxing because good support was just not available in our servers. Sure if you waited around for 2-3 hours and were prepared to start sucking up you 'd find a good pp to party, but aside from that ....
PS we shouldn't forget game design played a part in this too. In lineage 2 trying to exp with 0 buffs (in the pre-newbie buffs for everyone era) was pretty much an exercise in futility. People wouldn't box as much if buffs weren't as essential as they are in this game.

I see ppl claiming to be legit that are getting warnings. Since I dont know any legit person that had that warning, I am inclined to believe the warnings are correct and I think they should get the 7 days ban instead of warnings, increasingly longer bans till they put GG back.
Your opinion on accounts sharing is irrelevant as long as a HGM "solved" this 5 years ago. If you have any questions and protests about that, you can send them to GMs directly.
