ummm I just came back from being gone for a few years myself but I think what is happening is, Bartz is the new test server and the only active Live servers are Chronos (US) and Naia (EU). So if your on Bartz you're actually on the test server and that would explain why its so lonely :)
Kieva is correct. If you are playing on Bartz, then you are on PTS and wasting your time. PTS will be wiped soon for High Five.. You need to be on Chronos and Naia. But even so, the start villages are dead.. most toons are lvl 20 and done First CC in 2 to 4 hours..
Then they are at Gludin, Gludio, Dion and Giran to hunt/level
Bartz and all the other NA servers merged into Chronos. If your looking for people from Bartz, that is where you will find who ever is left.
Even once your on the proper server, you may find the starter towns empty. There are a few people starting each day, but the majority of the people are 80+ now.
Do the quests the newbie guide points out for u and you can get to 20 in 45 mins to an hr. All starting towns are dead cept for the people running through doing transfer quests. Get used to leveling solo at least until 40+ or you get into a clan with people that might be close level to you.
