Call me a traditionalist, but I would prefer a real X-mas event instead of stupid melons. I mean how stupid, melons are summer fruit :) Do you agree? Disagree?
Also it seems the nectar already stopped dropping, which is way before x-mas. And the drop rate was really quite low already and using the normal seeds to get more nectar was useless (you loose more) All in all I think this event is a big failure :D So what do you all say, should we have a real x-mas event this time? One with santa and rudolf as it is ment to be?
I am hoping NC already has one scheduled and we can forget about p uss the cat and the failure squad :eek:

I agree with the non-honey being a money sink. I realized this after 17 tries. The drop rate for nectar was decent. And the cloned honeys i would say was about 1/5000, it existed.
If I were to do it all over again, i would have sold the nectar to a private shop instead. The devs did put several hours of planning for the drop rates of the honey melons. The melon was just like fighting a mob, low drop rate for the 100mil+ items. I do intend on reaping my rewards because of some of the items I have saved after the economy recovers from its new surplus of honey goods.
I am appreciative for the event because I have bought some items I would not have today if I didn't sell a lifestone or 2 from NCsoft.
Except for the question if the stuff we get is useful or not, it is quite nice yes. But the event stopped already more or less and I have seen a single christmas tree. As a christmas fan I am dissappointed...
vote for an event where every1 gets a rudolph nose (which does nothing but look red) and a santa hat (which also does nothing)?

Koreas drops are S84 armour and weapons, BE W/A A+S, elemental crystals, level 16 + 17 crystals, Xmas trees, Xmas stars (Kind of like milk) and buffs from Rudolph.
the Santa Koreans got looks so much better than that stupid cat, talking about failing at thematic..., the event was nice but once again we had the scraps, is it so hard to make some frickin' elemental crystals drop like they have it in Korea????
however thinking about the rudolph event last year (although good concept) that gave us the l2.bin error for 6 months after <shudders> i cant go through that again!
The event was not nice at all, it was too short and missing the theme at hand. Nice drops don't make a nice event. Besides many events before this one gave better drops + buffs

True. I would have expected at least some trees drop or something... A hat and a nose ? True, vita was nice, but event was drop based for afk ppl, then where was the theme ?

I did like the event, I got a few nice things from the of the event items but there was a degree of fail here too:
Pro's:
1) Nice rewards from event
2) Good event to make money
Con's:
1) Low drop rate on Cloned Honey Seeds
2) Cloned Seeds actually cost more to feed than they would return making them utterly poinless.
3) the event lasted too few days (with excessive system down time and server crashing on sunday morning)
Forgive me for being a traditionalist but shouldnt winter / Christmas events actually last OVER christmas and not finish several days before hand? I mean consider than on the 21st I traded in or sold all my nectar.....then what is there left for me now? The event ends when items stop dropping for this kind of event. so now the only reason the event NPC exsists are for a few players who have not managed to turn in items yet.
My friend thinks that GM's will produce another event for over christmas time...but its getting a bit late......common NC soft...give us something for over the christmas holidays please!

in my case the Pro's are complety negated: I bought nectar for like 50kk and got out stuff for like 10kk, completely useless imho.
the point was again like in nearly every event right now: TIME BASED!!!!
why did melons drop on the weekend like even the spoiled ones 2-5 items and yesterday a large one dropped me ONLY 2Scry...
all my Large ones only gave me small drops (gem S or even A cry) but what do you expect - korean random
for me, the event was a complete fail, the tiger event was the best imho from now
I liked the rewards this event gave , the x-mas boxes + nectar's paid for my s-grade gear :) anyhow , on a side note , melons should have received more hp , so you need more people to take them down , would have been more interesting.
Also , Melons on Christmas still feels awkward and the event was too short.
Well I can't simply understand what's the point of adding a two weeks event when its actually only for one week since nectars have stopped be dropped from monsters....It's a joke for me.
Oh, I hated the Tiger event, too much time hitting mobs that didnt give exp, even with the attribute stone drops I failed like 90% of thoes stones (im sure they were cursed). So spending 2-3 hours at night in 9 man tiger groups only to fail most of the stones was a tragic waste of time.
I did like the X-mas shirts and buffs (and even weapons) that came from the event last year, but I guess with so many in s80/s84 now the idea of a S grade OE weapon inst so exciting.
The only reason I can see that wintermelons are being used is because its a simple way to create an event out of old material.
Change from pumpkin, squash, watermelon......all the mechanics are the same as we had years ago, simply a different fruit.
Boring.

Last 2 Christmas events really had something from Christmas atmosphere. Every year my little daughter was really impressed about animations and Christmas pets or npc's. This year maybe, for some people was a good event because they had luck at drop from "wintermellons" but only that. At least i could show her my Rudolph agathion that i get it from an old Christmas event. So, my oppinion is that NCSOft US didn't had time to prepare a good event or they considered that Christmas is not an story time anymore and doesn't matter what event is about. We could even feed horses with skeleton bones (LOL). Anyway, i think is the only server in the world, official or not, that have worst event this Christmas. I'm really dissapointed. I think there is still time that can be lauched an old Christmas event (anyway is better than actual event).

well sorry about that but you should have known by now that the events are boosted during the weekends, it's been like this since forever, i got used to that after the first year of playing
to tell the truth...when i read for that wintermelon event istead of a cool christmas event i though it was a joke...like 1rst april fools jokes... especialy when i read the rewards i loled ... i was so sure it was a joke...but now i have my doubts...was it really an event?? wtf????
I made some money selling nectars. But its old. Like C4-ish. Have to agree, that it would look more like a spring event. The Rudolph events where nice, no doubt. Ofc, we have to say Thanks on every event we get. Would like to get something like the bread stuff event with aphro ( :) ) hair, but this time it could be like a x-mas tree hat and a candy stick instead of weapon look. But on the other hand, we got enough of vita stuff tnx to 6. anniversary.
