Good news, everyone! After extensive testing, we are happy to announce that all Territory War Badges lost during the server merge in October 2010 are being replaced! Best of all, none of the badges that you've acquired since the merge will be affected by this insertion. There is no preparation necessary for the Territory War Badge Insertion. You may participate in Territory Wars as you like, and you may claim badges from the NPC as you like. Everyone will receive the exact quantity and type of badges that disappeared from their quest inventory during the merge. :)
The insertion will be implemented during the regular maintenance on Tuesday, January 11, 2011.
Here is a brief FAQ and some examples about this insertion.
Will this insertion replace all of the Territory War badges I lost during the server merge in October 2010?
Yes, all of them and each kind.
Will this insertion cause the deletion of any new badges that I acquired after the server merge?
No, they will not be affected.
Will the insertion reset the badge count that I have on the Territory NPC?
No, it will not be affected.
Scenario 1:
Pre-Merge Bob had 50 Aden Badges, which were removed during the merge.
Post-Merge Bob did not acquire any further badges.
After the Territory War Badge Insertion, Bob will have 50 Aden Badges.
Scenario 2:
Pre-Merge Fred had 20 Goddard Territory War Badges, 20 Aden Badges, and 40 Giran Badges, which were all removed during the merge.
Post-Merge Fred acquired 20 Goddard Badges.
After the Territory War Badge Insertion, Fred will have 40 Goddard Badges, 20 Aden Badges, and 40 Giran Badges.
Scenario 3:
Pre-Merge Ted had 30 Gludio Badges in his quest inventory. Then he participated in the last Territory War but did not claim badges at the Territory War NPC.
Right after the merge, Ted saw that his 30 Gludio Badges were removed, but that his badges on the NPC were not removed.
Post-Merge Ted did not claim badges from the NPC.
After the Territory War Badge Insertion, Ted will have 30 Gludio Badges and may still claim badges from the Territory War NPC.
Scenario 4:
Pre-Merge Sarah had 30 Aden Badges and 50 Dion Badges, which were all removed during the merge.
Post-Merge Sarah acquired 20 Aden Badges, 30 Dion Badges, and 10 Giran Badges.
Before the Territory War Badge Insertion, Sarah participated in the Territory War for Giran, but did not claim her badges from the Territory War NPC.
After the Territory War Badge Insertion, Sarah will have 50 Aden Badges, 80 Dion Badges, 10 Giran Badges, and she may still claim badges from the Territory War NPC.
Well, who said they wont be returned ?
Thank you Sace and perhaps Cabel, Moxie, whoever did it behind the scenes. It is VERY late, but I didnt lose faith even when Cabel said they wont be returned. Thanks all the community which supported this move. Hope this wont happen again, or, if it does, quickly repair it without all that BS about miscommunication and stuff. It was very bad PR in a rather good year.
All in all, happy ending, while I didnt have any manor as I dont think I can compete with the bots, returning those is also necessary for the game and community. I WANT to believe...

Wow!, I was never ****** at the whole badges thing as I had not a lot of badges in my inventory anyway but even so I want to say good work. You guys are really trying to make a change in the game, it's a shame this effort came this late but nonetheless keep it up! Excellent work guys!

Words taste bitter now...or?
I would like to know why we are still talking about the TW badges; those were lost by NVCSoft several months ago? They could have manually replaced all the badges by now if they really wanted you to have them back. Time to move on and look back upon the good points of 2010.

statistics about how many accounts were created and how many canceled since the TW badges issue was would be just funny :) and im pretty sure...without all those spams in the TW thread NCsoft wouldnt move toe for giving badges back...players are those who pay their salary and give them jobs...without players...no NCsoft will be in US/EU...

I'm just happy to be getting my badges back. I had a lot. And the fact that they finally worked on something to get it fixed without giving up does give a little more faith back in NCSoft. (But just a little.)
To help with the confusion towards my first statement you quoted.

1.
harsh or bitter derision or irony.
2.
a sharply ironical taunt; sneering or cutting remark:I am commenting that all the threats of leaving and one shut down of a website does not appear to have accelerated the return of in-game items. I apologize if this went way over your head.
I stand by the 2nd quote and continue to belive that they could have have manually replaced all the badges by now if they really wanted.
that are good news?!?!?!, lol all ppl say thx a lot, but we have farm that badges we heve work for it in TW, and we are NOT a n00b free server where bugs are every where ...WE pay for that game and its not a good news to get badges back after merge its just a shame that they need so long time. Thats not a gift from NCSoft, they only give us back/if what was before ours....
Ex: Fought for Giran, pre-merge, now been fighting for Rune.
How will I be able to use the badges to purchase t-war items in Giran, for example?
If you picked up your badges, and have them on your toon, thus lost them in merger, then you can just go to Giran and spend them, once they are returned on the 11th. I'm fairly sure that they don't restrict you if you are not signed with them or if you are not signed at all. It is only if you have not collected badges and change towns that you will take a loss. If you have no badges to buy with, they don't let you see what they have to offer. If you do have badges, they do let you see and I would assume purchase.
am i the only one here that cares more about manor fruits? Badges cost much less compared to fruits i had (if i turn them in to castle in theory :d)LOL
Thanks to all those whom promised they would quit paying their subscription fees and the one who would shut down his website. Without these many Empty Words this day would have come swiftly anyway.

The key word here being swiftly and the source of the sarcasm:
swift (swft)
adj. swiftâ¢er, swiftâ¢est
1. Moving or capable of moving with great speed; fast.
2. Coming, occurring, or accomplished quickly; instant: a swift retort.
3. Quick to act or react; prompt: swift to take steps.
adv.
Swiftly. Often used in combination: swift-running.

Ahhh, thanks for that! I didn't know I could have badges of one town from a previous t-war then sign up for a different one on the next and keep the badges from the previous town. :D Now to figure out what to spend my badges on~!
99%sure all chars will get badges back. It will be just a nightmare to give individually back to reactivated chars.
Besides, if inactive accounts would not get badges back, it would have been said. (Normally)
M
Shadowdancer Just make sure you have them in your toons Quest inventory not on the town NPCs. I had several toons with 3, 4 or maybe even 5 different Badges on them before the merge, and expect these toons to have them back come Tuesday. I have not been working as many toons in TW since merger, but I do have badges from both Schuttgart and Oren on the 3 I have been running. The weapons, armor and jewelry from each town varies, so there are reasons you might want to get Badges from a variety of places, though it's only the jewelry and mainly the S80 jewels which interest me.

Hilarious coming from the guy who called everyone immature for posting in the thread where we requested they find a solution to this.
On Friday, January 14, TW badges were restored to those players that had transferred since the server merge and therefore did not receive badges in the initial badge insertion maintenance. The restored badges for these players will be either in your Quest inventory, or your private warehouse.
Thank you everyone for bearing with us during this situation. :)
