Specially with the Lack of Zakens and AQ's dropping and specific clans farming them with no hope in hell of them making their way into other peoples hands.
Pointless to have any epics if you do not have weapons or armor to be able to properly utilise them...
I've been working on getting a zaken for ages...... well actually since c3 presented epic jewels.....
kinda rediculious that with the nearing 500x times i've done zaken both lowbie and now several times high lvl.... never seen or heard of anyone getting a zaken earing drop. Shouldn't really have to go and buy them if we are doing the instance often enough.
But irreguardless, 1bil is a pile of adena when your limited to catacombs and various other lvl 78-82 zones, It would be much faster if i was 82 and able to farm crystals..... but i'm sure like everything else, by the time i get there, that market will have also crashed in on itself.
I have so far bought both AQ and Frint on the open market in Giran. Surely ppl can afford those.

i suppose so - dyou not think things have all got a bit gear top heavy though - my mind cant be bothered to work out if i should be + gear, +skills, adding elements, buying jewels, everyone should be nakid n buffless then we dont have to use our minds ;-)

To get gear, you need to have gear to get it..... otherwise you just get stuck popetually at the bottom as nothing more then a bottom feeder... which i would say majority of the entire l2 population is on right now..
So to do the raids and such that have a good chance at dropping gear in which is appropriate for the lvls, requires essentially that gear... that you need. It's a bit of a vicious circle. In the case of zaken, repeatedly i've seen, it cannot be done with 9 people without having crazy enchants, over 150 elemented weapons, epics to go with it, and of course picture perfect party, and EVEN then i'd say 1/4 of the time, those go badly and people die in the ones i've been able to perticipate in.
So considering those factors.... 18 people walking into zaken with the highest lvl being 82 and the lowest being 78, i'd say killing zaken, in 40 minutes, with essentially comparibly "gearless" people to that of a typical 9 man group that does it in 10-15 tops 20 is doing pretty **** good.

then in the same breath and i've seen this in hero shout several times in the past..... why doesn't anyone want to pvp... to many carebears.
Personally i'd love a good fight with so called pvpers to match gear for gear and see how things go EVEN with the enchanted skills....
I know several "elites" that couldn't get a pvp right without "assistance" or the advantage of a few epics..
And even then... even with my poor/lacking pvp skills and terrible equipment, i've someone managed to kill my own class with 5/5 and better enchanted skills and 2 lvls above... at a 100% success rate.

I'm still having trouble seeing how zaken dont die faster with that many ppl. Is it 1 person hitting and rest cheering him on?
I think one person in all of that has 3 epics.... and only 2 or 3 others have one... most likely a frint or orfen or Aq... perhaps a zaken.... not any combination of more then one of those though i would suspect.. no one has a valakas or antharas...

If you can't comprehend it taking more then 20 minutes.... next time try going in .. taking ALL your epics off, be unable to land hex and various other debuffs....

Judas ima pm u in game 2night and talk to more bout zaken to see if i can help u out alil more. i agree with smittie (and really shocked bout it) with those party set ups u should be killing it under 20 mins. but maybe its lack of something ur not doing.... guess i will find out :P
I mean when i'm Aoeing.. although i don't have a polearm... well that's fairly easy adena.... but otherwise.... lets say when i get 1 or 2 people with me in delusion chamber.. i'm usually chewing through SSS faster although getting great xp..... then i'm getting adena to cover it.
So wheres a good place to go where the guaranteed adena drop rates are more then able to compensate?

May be your dds are not high enough (remember zaken is high level so if you go in with 78 dds... you are not going to hit very hard....)
As far as the epics go, we kill it with 1 party under 20 mins and we have no epics..... its just about doing it right..... Critical wound + real target + death mark + violent temper + stigma + hex + DOD + Abyss.... they all stack.....
As far as gear / epics go there is no reason why you couldnt afford it. 2 of my clannies saved up for an QA by themselves in less than 1 month.... just by collecting eppauletes in fortresses... all you need is 1 titan 76-78 / 1 BD / 1 SE (and atk spd pots). With those 3 toons you can just go and kill the mobs in the fortresses and start stacking up... If you have a clan and your clan holds a fortress you can also do fotress dungeon and youll be collecting about 10/15 per fort dungeon... (it does not cost you even 1 mill in shots). in about 1 month you should be able to afford a QA.....

all the DDs hitting are lvl 80+... most of which are 81 or 82
I personally can't touch zaken, i get one/two shotted..... waste of mp on the healer (run to hallway, dance, run back to attack... die)

Failing to land the ones that are not 100% land rate is the biggest issue.... stigma and real target and DOD...... the other are not 100%.... even at +12 chance.. i have to spam hex ..and quite often i've gone nearly the entire raid without landing it more then 3 to 5 times.... Not a thing i can do about that.. nor anyone else. Even violent temper isn't 100% land.... still need the proper enchants and equal to above lvls of the raid to mostly guarantee it.

Wish i had the luck there perhaps.... I've done Several fort instances and fortresses and haven't walked away with more then say 20 or 30 KE's sometimes (fort battles).. fort instances on the other hand are dandy, if there is an appropriate party online at the time and i'm there at the right time to do it, i miss the majority of them, and you can't take more then 1 party in, and obviously i can't be part of that same party every time either.
I stated previously in this thread i beleive... that actually the only way i've been staying afloat and making exceptionally slow progress recently is through the KEs.... but it's nowhere near fast enough to guarantee me a AQ ring in a single month.... provided at the current sustained rate of collecting KEs... without investing in a single thing at all other then shots... and i don't even buy CP pots.... i'd likely be able to afford one in about 9 to 12 months concervatively.

I know of many ways to farm adena... it's just not as easy as anyone tends to make it out to seem. I've been in many situations where i've made a bunch of adena in an exceptionally short of time..... but it's luck..... right place, right time..... location location location.... Who you know and whatnot. It's totally subjective... It's not EVER going to be clear cut across the board... period... it can't be.. and to suggest otherwise is utterly rediculious.
I'm not QQing at all, and theres no point in suggesting i am, Your suggestions are noted, and i'm already doing what i can with what you've suggested. By ending your post with that i'm QQing or complaining at all doesn't bode well with the rest of your post, it's counter productive and also makes it sound like you weren't really making suggestions in the first place and making a straight up statement that I or others that are having these issues are 100% wrong, idiots, cry babies. etc. Nothing constructive.
I never said that it takes Extremely stacked up groups/gears/etc to do simple things... Just that our definition of simple is quite different.
I know of a number of people that have had huge difficulties in doing someone that even i found or thought to be nearly infalluable... but i'm a little bit more open minded to the fact that anything is possible be it in success or total failure... Least i'm willing to learn or try different things.... and provided with suggestions... i'm all ears.

For aq,i think with highfive it will be easier to get the oly ring(same stats as aq).If you xp on delusion,selling the attribute stones is a way for income.
The rest ive read like making 1b in 1 month from ke on those merged servers,is scient fiction.
For Zaken,you can do it even with 82lvl dds,without epics and with just 150 weapons.But they should at least have 200+ dark def on them(from attribu on armors and or buffs).
Necro for dot/abyss,stigma, one more good bubble from a melee and some skill from a melee like from dagger or titan's limits is enough.
Keep buffers/healers around 4 corners,keep bd-sws away from zaken if they take much dmg and gl )

Yeah... i've gone to a number of forts just to nuke the catapults.. and try to take out the main support barracks that are there.... and generally.. if i go in with clan buffs, i don't fair at all well, Can't put out enough damage to kill them in a reasonable enough time, nor can i survive long enough to do it. Which leaves me with only one option, killing the guards.. which nets me essentially nothing and just a waste of shots/time/adena.

Yeah i was on occasion able to afford the oly jewels ... one every 2 months due to never getting above 20,000 tokens. With the advent of high 5.. i should be able to sustain a single jewel throughout the year with them lasting 60 days instead of 30.

Personally i think anything is possible.. it's just highly improbable or unlikely/rare. I've been witness to seeing a titan waltz into a fort .. and after an hour walk away with 4k KEs... but i simply can't do what that titan does. And ironically, asking for party to get a peice of that generally results in them saying "****".... or do it yourself. Although small parties can do it, i also am fully understanding of where it becomes relatively inefficent if you walk into a fort with a full party or more and are sitting around waiting for them to respwan.

Even with my bd with well over 200 dark resist.. hell i've tried to be around zaken with over 400 dark resist and get 2 shotted... doesn't seem to matter.... And zaken loves to do the twin attack .... huge hit followed by only a slightly weaker hit...... None of the sws/bds seem to be able to survive at all around zaken. It's mostly not a good idea to even walk around him to use pyscho or demonic aoe debuffs.... I typically bring my weak bow just to assist with the damage from a distance, but that's a pretty significant drain on mp, so i can't do it all the time.
We keep the buffers healers in a single corner, we keep the bd sws in opposite callways so they are out of the way completely as they can't survive at all anyways.
We are landing every conceiveable buff we can.. but 90% of the time, it doesn't land at all, only the 100% land rate ones have any effect.
Our 2nd last zaken took us just over 58 minutes to complete due to DoD not landing on zaken. Either zaken managed to avoid the bubble somehow or took off and slipped back in before the bubble to get it on him. We can't seem to keep him on a single target for any length of time, always randomly running around, even attacking people that haven't done a **** thing, such case is a DC that buffed and is standing in a hallway not doing anything. Tank can't keep agro, and most of the titans can't seem to keep agro either, usually dieing shortly after getting the agro if the right circumstances occur.
Last night we did it again, another 40 minutes or better run. Numerous deaths.... I played my sws for this one this time due to lack of sws.....
But having gone in with other parties to do zaken and being part of dropping zaken in under 15-20 minutes... and i've done this numerous times in the past..... I do not see what is different at all, hell the one party i went in with didn't have dod or any real debuffs.. just stigma and a DC with great fury burning chopping me the entire time... The ONLY difference i'm well aware of is the fact that the titans and GKs had a number of jewels, zakens/atharas removed... and 300 weapons with rsk focus/haste on them. I think the personal best witness is 7 and a half minutes... zaken was in first room.... double xp/better drops if done under 10 minutes..... i wish we could do that even with 3x the number of dds and partys that we took into the 58 minute+ zaken recently.
That's irrelivant when the two shot i'm getting hit for over 6k on the first hit and 4k on the 2nd... so even with +5 con which puts me at just under 9.5k hp..... i'm still dead.
And if i wasn't dieing ... waste of a healers mp trying to keep me healed with the AOEs zaken does....

Hard for it to go in one ear and out the other when the presented options have been weighed and valued and what can be done is being done.... but unfortunately... no one seems to have any other suggestions..... When CLEARLY "your doing it wrong" is the only only answer being given with no clarification as to what or why that is.
