I see a lot of discussion on A/S gear but nothing below? I know that B is 'fast' but what is the best gear route for SWS 52-60 and why, please? Shield and sword? Dagger? BW or Zubei or Doom?

Hey there. There is not much talk about b grade equip because 52-60 is so fast that it is not worth the adena and effort. So better keep ur adena until a grade. I did my b grade lvls with full plate and samurai longsword focus. Now if u insist on spending adena blue wolf heavy and damascus focus

+1 althou you can also use a high oe **** and convert it to a focus dagger.. the main difference is that u need to carry a lot of SS when using C grade weapons
Sticking with C grade Plated Leather (just the peices you need to get set bonuses) and then a mix of heavy or top end C or B armor was best. +4str plus the newbie buffs and your usually VRing all that hp back and killing faster then you could with even Doom Light set.
Now doom light set is **** good too, has some nice stats... and works just as well.. i would say doom light set is probably the 2nd best option.
I had flipped flopped between doom heavy and BW heavy.. and while BW heavy does give you a good boost in str, and run speed with the reduction to dex, i just didn't care for it. I figured "why?"... stick with the 2 top options.. and if you really find you need the pdef or to counter any PVP you might experience... your next best option will be Doom heavy.
A sws in doom heavy fighting, pvping at that lvl is a toughy..... Specially if you've got a good enchant on your sword/dagger.
But for pure pve mode... i'd say stick with your main peices you need for Plated Leather set to get +4 str... and then stick the best pdef giving armor for the rest of the peices.

so i agre with dont care about the def in pve just a plate leather and a fast weapon like a dagger
same can b a good idea play for pve something focus in the critical rate (dagger focus + armor with +DEX + song of hunters + buff is enough focus if u ask me) and later think in the critical power but soon sws learn in h5 hit skills

Yeah if ur lvling an sws come h5 ur lucky. Sws finally gets an attack skill. I lvled with autoattack all the way :p
