Question about B-Day Buff

Lets "hypothetically" say that high five will be live on feb15 (even if it isnt, lets just say for the moment), and lets say I get my bday buff on feb14. Now, would the new bday system be in effect, if you have taken the buff prior to high five?

Just want to know, if the bday buff will stay as the old one, like it is now, or change over to the new system, if its already taken.
Of course I am not one of the devs, so I cannot say for sure, but I'd say if you already have taken your birthday buff from the NPC, you will keep it (the old one). Only players who have the birthday AFTER the new update goes live will be given the new stuff. As I understood the patch notes, on the day you have your birthday, the game will mail you your birthday stuff. So if your birthday is on the 14th and the new update goes live on the 15th, the game will never even think about sending you the new stuff, since your birthday is already "over". But the buff will remain, like on one of my alts who still has his bday buff from 2 years ago.
i have birthday buff 13th febrary QQ
well wasnt talking about the items I was more referring to this:

After your character dies, the Birthday Vitality Potion buff remains on your character. The previous setting still applies for which the buff is gone if you change your character's Subclass.
This is exact my situation, having Bday at 14th of february ...
like on one of my alts who still has his bday buff from 2 years ago.

I wonder how many birthday hats NCsoft thinks we need... unless of course they don't expect people to remain more than 1 year ...
We will be testing this and various other player questions, and will have an answer for you before the High Five update goes to live servers.

Sace,

This is off topic, but have you guys checked to make 100% sure that existing olympiad tokens (not the items being removed) will 100% stay on our characters once the update goes live?

The only reason I ask is some people have hundreds of thousands to millions of tokens they were saving for Vorpal sets, and it would really suck to have another TW badge incident.
i want my gift of birthday to H5 :)
it is unfortunate to have birthday buff so close to the changes.
mine is 2/12 (12/2 for those who do day first), not quite as bad as 2/14...

i read a lot about the changes...
is there just a way we can get a grace period and accept buff after the Creation date?

Well as a last PM received from Sace I won't be able to get the buff potions instead of the 12h buff as my birthday triggers still in the old version.

Potions? So, do they give 3 of 4-hour potions instead of an 12-hour one? This change seems to be missing in our Part 4 patch notes.

Not sure, I didn't follow our patchnotes, I use mostly the korean ones, but I don't think we would get something else that they got. The preliminary patchnotes we recieved are not final ones yet, so I think this will be covered by the final version more clearly.
The patch notes on these forums currently are the preliminary patch notes, and we did explain that there would be changes once the final patch notes are posted (later today). There are indeed 3 4-hour birthday buff potions as part of the birthday system revamp.

What I explained to one player about their birthday buff triggering before High Five is implemented, and therefore receiving only the Freya buff, is only my own logic of how the system works; we are testing if Freya birthday buffs remain intact after conversion to High Five, and we are also testing to see if a character birthday on the day of the update would get the Freya birthday gifts or the new High Five ones. We'll have answers for this question and other before High Five launches on live servers.

sooo Sace, any info on the testing for the bday conversion from freya to h5?

also wondering if you have any more info on this:

Afteryour character dies, the Birthday Vitality Potion buff remains on your character. The previous setting still applies for which the buff is gone if you change your character's Subclass

like will the old bday buff (i.e. the one i'm getting on feb.14, freya bday buff), will it get the same effect, as to, if you forget noblesse, will you still lose it or keep it?
yey im glad i get my birthday buff after the update 17th feb :D
