Lineage II needs more advertising?

Why NCSoft don`t invest more in advertising this (wonderful) game in Europe and America?

I played WOW and just stumbled on L2 by pure luck!
After i read informations, see some videos, check the L2 site, i decided to give a try.
Because i dont like to use credit cards, it took me some time to find a store that sell some L2 game time card... and in the same store i find several WOW related products.
I started to play (doing newbie things!) and find L2 quite apealling to me.
Result: never played again WOW and i stay playing L2 for the last 2 years.

Of course i dont understand much of the game bussiness, but i think that a little investment in more advertisement will bring more people to play this game.
"Everyone" knows WOW, and think in WOW when talk about an mmorpg, why not show people there are another (and better, for me) alternative to WOW?
More dvds in store, some big posters of L2 would, likely, make more people try the "new" (in several stores people asked me - when i asked if they had L2 - if L2 is a new game!) game and bring to our servers more players.
At the current stage it's way too late. Game had to be advertised during its peak times not now.
WoW still gets tv advertising. Don't see why they shouldn't do it with L2 too. Especially when GoD arrives. We need a bigger player base so it would be an idea.
It would be nice to see actually. Having just returned myself, I made an alt and the changes to the game for new players seem really good. But nearly all my other gaming friends have never heard of Lineage 2. Kinda sad really, tried getting them over to try it, but they are all so bloody sold on WoW :(

It's great to see they are still updating Lineage 2. I feel the old girl still has a few more good years left in her yet :)
Cause 3 years ago they cannibalized the Lineage 2 player base to launch Tabula Rasa. TR failed MASSIVELY, cost NCSOFT as much as 3 brand new games, got shut down, lost an epic amount of money and took with it ncsoft's faith in non-koreans spending the money they make in korea.
Every time WoW releases a major update they advertise on TV here in the UK and every time i find myself compelled to renew and have look around, each time it's always just WoW. :D

If everyone gets this compulsion like me, then maybe the surge in one month subscription could fund the advertising.
Let them update the website first before advertising something.

I believe that isn`t too late to advertise this game, simply because this game is good, and the only thing that WOW has more is the - comparatively - massive advertisement, that brings too that game more players and subscriptions = more money to the company.

I found tv comercials of WOW in english, swedish, french and german, with several famous people, and several commercials with funny situations (family, girlfriend/boyfriend, friends).
I found three commercials of L2: two koreans and the other from the Philipines.

+1

The information regarding the game on the site of L2 must be updated!
I'm hoping that we will see more advertising coming soon, maybe not massive billboards, but developer interviews and pushes for advertising on MMO sites and gaming sources. With the recent bot management strategies and the high five update opening up the end game to more players, combined with the recent visit from koreans and more GM interaction the game is more than ready to be re-promoted.

L2 is truly ready for new players and for once isn't just bot heaven.

GoD is going to be a real mind***** to the new players.

I mean, starting with 11 classed to choose, then coming to 30+, then going back to 8... wth?
Ya we've been saying this for years, very much a 'secret' game as someone put it recently in another thread :o

My theory is I think alot of it must come down to its not seen as a game suitable to western markets/attitude (maybe thats why they tried make their own wow style clone with aion...)

Anyway result being decision makers at the top whether its here or korea I have no idea, I guess look at facts/figures and dont think advertising cost would be worth the gain. Im sure many of us would beg to differ. Awesome game that stands out from (and way above) the crowd, that many would like if they only knew about it - despite the age as well (how many updates?), stuff like the graphics have held up ok and got improved hmmm maybe 3 year ago now?

Would be shame if whoever decides on advertising thinks that: current numbers who have played this game = about the percent of demographic who would play it, but of course if 95% of mmo gamers have never even heard of the game, that logic would be seriously flawed!

I'm sure they'd be a big stack of extra profit sitting there > advertising cost and the extra support required for more players. Perhaps they shud do research poll find out % of mmo gamers who actually know about the game... or maybe they have and its not as low as we think, but so many ppl keep saying they 'stumbled' across the game.

Advertising wuddnt need be full blown wow style campaign, tv advertising etc, there are cheaper options. Internet advertising, magazines, etc, reach alot of the target audience for relatively cheap.

Ah well, I'll shush now lol
