GameGuard Folder

Hi folks,

The High Five update is bringing a new version of GameGuard. In preparation for receiving this, we ask everyone to remove all GameGuard folders in your Lineage II director before you patch to High Five.

Some installations may have 2 GameGuard folders, one in the main directory, and one in the system folder. Remove all the GameGuard folders you find.

If a player does not remove them before patching, no sweat, but you might see a GameGuard Fail error upon entering the gameworld with your character. If that is the case, exit the game, remove the GameGuard folders, run a full Check Files, restart your computer, and enter the game again.

just remove GameGuard like aion did , GG dont protect from bots or cheats , it just slow and make lag the l2 client a lot ...

Might want to update the Server Maintenance post on the main website with the info as well...

may want to explain how to do it in full detail, for all the dumb dumbs out there who will use this as an excuse to play without GG up and complain about unjust bans. just saying, we've seen people do dumber things...

But h5 patcher is already working ? or if I will press check file now it will "update" my h5 pts client back to freya ?

Seems to be working, only a small update needed after I converted my pts client.

I downloaded the full h5 client via download manager. So before install I delete the gg folder, then install the full client and after that run it and it automaticlly update and check the rest right?

I wonder if this new version of gameguard gonna avoid l2ranger users to log in game anymore.Let's see.

of course not cause the cheaters "patch" the gg.

No, "radar" users dont touch any game files, or GG ;)

Same problem. Ran check 4x now, lol. Anyone else have any suggestions?

GG gets usually updated only after you startup the game itself (via Start button). Then the files are being loaded on the background. There is no progress bar, it just downloads itself hidden on the background.

Only GameGuard related file that the launcher will download is GameGuard.des (in your system folder) if it's missing. The GameGuard folder and rest of the files are downloaded during the splash screen before the game window appears after you have hit start in the launcher.

ppl..i had my pts folder and i used my pts to vlive conversion icon and i ran it..but when it reaches to the end it says " the connection to the update server has been terminated:/ what shall i do?

Keep trying to update through the patcher. A few players have seen that error but after a few tries they are able to get through.

its look like update server down... i'll try to klick patcher 30 min and nothing :(

I am getting a similar error.

When I double click on my shortcut, a popup window appears saying the connection to the update server has been terminated. I put the gameguard file back in, but I continue to be unable to reach the update window.
