Increased FPS Lag in H5?

General Discussion Started Last reply 13 posts
Hello,

Is there anyone more then me who experience more FPS lag after H5 update?

I noticed this first when we did raids like Tiat, Frintezza and other more "effect intense" events. Before the update it was far from this load and many of the players I talk to in ventrilo during the raids say they experience the same problems.
+1

It was the first time that i couldn't see tiat lol.

yep h5 = more fps lag than before it was with every update ... no matter what nasa pc you have :D
i wonder if ncsoft actually COULD do something to decrease fps lag . ( tbh they could :] )
even on valakas raid when lineage 2 memory usage will hit 1,5 GB game will crush ..
I have a 3.6ghz intel quad core, Radeon 4890 and 8gb of memory and L2 still runs like it did back in 2004 lol. All hope is lost.
yesterday we couldnt see any mobs in the fortress (sod) even in the tiat room that was awfull and the fps lag suxs
Whenever there are a lot of graphical effects on screen (i.e.. at Tiat, 10+ people hitting the gates and soulshot effects going off), my fps literally hit 1 unless I zoomed in completely on my character, so that I did not see any effects. The lag was HORRIBLE and we had people dc'ing because of it.

I have not had graphical lag this bad for years - it was not simply connection lag, it was real, client-side graphical lag.
WTB code that supports current computers and not only those from 5 years ago! (multi cores? anyone?)

I think that's because lineage2 is still using the same physics and engine it had from start, the game is not optimized for 64-bit OS and multi-thread CPUs.

Edit: it should run best with XP 32-bit, 3gigs ram, a high clock dual core CPU, a 5xxx series radeon, and an SSD or raided raptors to increase load times.

There shouldn't be any difference. I looked at my GPU usage and its always 0%. The game doesn't even use the GPU much. I suspect that maybe a lot of the problem.
I was about to post for this issue.Tiat is a joke since the F5 update.I got 2 fps all the time especially when I am near the gates (the ones you need to break). NC has to do something with this issues. The game is much old and the code sux but it was much better before H5..

It is very CPU and load intensive. An SSD or a raid array will speed up load times, and a high clock CPU will increase framerate. I have an i7 with 8 threads and L2 only uses the first one. It's at 70-90% load just from grinding with a box. With the power of GPUs nowadays, a 7 year old game isn't going to need much.

Its very cpu limited because it doesn't use the cpu at all, when it should. The game also isn't multi thread optimized. So yea.....I doubt they'd change it at this time in L2s life. But hey, you'll never know :D. I don't see any difference in fps between my old amd64 cpu and [email protected]. But I don't expect to, I doubt it takes advantage of new cpu instructions and stuff.
