I used to play Lineage2 for 5 years straight, starting when it first launched.
I left hating the company NcSoft. I love the game though.
After being around the black a few good times, I've decided to return to L2 to give it another go, it's been years since I've last been in L2.
I was wondering if certain things have changed any.
I'm on a trial version for now.
Here are my very important questions.
1) Are there still farmers and auto bots ridden throughout the game? If so, are they many? or very few?
2) What is the general population on a server? low, med or high? When a player logs in, do you see enough other players around? or are things a bit barran.
3) Does lineage2 offer anything inovative in content yet? or are there still only catle seiges and various raid events (mobs)?
4) Role players. Are there any? How popular is RP still? Is it in demand?

Yes, many. Mostly in places hard to get in or out of sight like catacombs. Thats for the trains cause most solo bots are still shamelessly out of the closet.

Naia is Mid/Low
Chronos is Mid, Mid/High
It really shows on Territory Wars and Castle Siege days.

Territory Wars have been implemented, which are like sieges involving the whole server population (everyone can sign for it) and everyone must choose a castle and play some kind of "Capture the Flag" with other castles. Complete a certain number of kills of certain classes and you get badges which can be used to buy some good stuff.
4) Role players. Are there any? How popular is RP still? Is it in demand?
A guy couple guys were osting about being frauded by NcSoft, which I can totally agree with, and the post topic was deleted.
That just reminded me again how much I HATE this **** for brains company.
Just as soon as I re-downloaded this game, I've uninstalled it and my trial version can go untouched.
I'm going to try out another trial in Vanguard.

I also heard that BlueTooth Studios (ex employees of ncsoft) were opening up about how NcSoft aquires players accounts, makes it look like hackers got to it, and the company sells it to 3rd party gold wholsalers, when a player reaches a high enough in game asset value. That's screwed, my old friend thought that happened to im as well months ago.
This company just wants to make as much money as they can of the hides of others and unjust. Have a problem with that?
Well they will just DELETE you entirely.
That is pretty bad.... and still here I find out after years, the **** botting and adena farming persists worse than ever before.

I think Redneck hasn't been in a catacomb for months. I'm still leveling subs in them, and I haven't seen a SINGLE bot in the last month. This kinda floors me, but NCSoft is cleaning up their act.
As for the OP... you played L2 for 5 YEARS and you believe the word of posters here? LMAO. You have a FREE trial, use it to visit some catacombs.
There are way lesser bots/farmers around nowadays. From time to time u see botting chars, but thats mostly ppl that bot for xp their chars. Nothing else. Check few days and decide then.
Until atleast A grade or even S grade u wont find too many ppl around now. But this can be catched now way too fast in my eyes.

Well you obviously dont go deep enough in them. Or to the right catacombs at least, Since I keep PKing bot trains in some of them.
The ones I've tried so far have been devoid of bots. But you are making the positive claim, tell us what cata's to avoid if you found this big gathering of hundreds of bots.
in overall numbers, no.
But on the other hand, Lineage 2 is still way way way WAY behind other games if you think about the overall population of bots as a percentage of the entire account base.
And then there's the programs that you don't see, generally PVP assist programs. Those programs run wild in this game, and the developers and the GMs doesn't do much about it.
It automates PvP. Also, there are radars which can locate players that your character isn't supposed to see ('cause of great distance, no sight etc.) and those programs thrive in sieges etc. (at least that's what most people say) :rolleyes:
what does a PvP bot program do? Whay is it bad?
Notifies if someone targets you and who is.
Target them back before they have even done anything to you.
Tells you what class people are and lets you see their HP/MP/CP
Hacks into the radar to show you if wartags or specific people are nearby.
Auto targets back if someone cancels your targeting.
Makes your train kill the healers first or instantly zerg anyone who just targets you in a siege.
Target people in places you couldn't even see to manually click them.
Etc...
1)About bots
Only about 10% of bots are left. The black market is destroyed already thanks to our new gms.
2)About event monsters
Treasure chests now are much Rarer and give crazy rewards(scrolls,bsoes,weps)
There is also an even rarer event monster called "Lucky pig" that gives expencive things too.
Xp is even better than low-rate private servers now. Game is really fun.
Awesome game and definitely alot cleaner, and looks like will be all the more awesome for this dude not coming back lol, talk about impatient/change mind so fast/watever.
