U mean the name on the toon?

I guess it could be viewed as offensive to some.

As for pricing, anything goes I guess. If you were to try and buy that (which you cant since you're too poor atm) it would give you a warning.

Morons need to be weeded out of the game anyway.
Why would this not be allowed?

It's your own fault if you fall for this since the price is clearly shown and says 10mil...

Edit:
After like 2 hours of crafting basic materials for a weapon a few years ago and spam clicking the craft button of several crafters I even fell for one of those.
Two Steel for 5m each ... thank god I didn't have more money in my inventory back then! xD
Had to learn it the hard way ... ;)
It is even on the loading messages
Before making any transaction check the name, the clan, the item and the price or something like that.
scamming this way is totaly legal, you just have to check what you buy.
i loled so much at those bars >.<
Looks like a RMT to me setup to look like a scam. I am sure at some point some random toon came up and bought them. Just the other day, I saw 10 S arrows being sold for 100m each and right before my eyes they were purchased.
Are you saying the toon was buying 40m from RMT rather than changing prices on an item that could be sold for 4a each?

Don't seem logical to me...
i loled so much at those bars >.<

Especially if you use nostromo, it doesn't matter what kind of bars you have. Dunno about this dude tho.
buyer beware : a fool and his money are soon parted

I've learned to be especially careful about both my sell shops and what I buy, usually recheck prices 3 times
There is lot of ppl who play and drink. After 24 beers and bottle of vodka it is harder to notice these scams :D

r u serious?

edit: also lol at the bars, lolwtf?
This particular situation can't be technically called a scam because all of the truth is plainly visible. Anyone making a purchase from another player is responsible for being careful to check the transaction items and amounts before accepting the purchase/sale/trade.

It's a Darwin test.

I usually am one of those who drink and play!
But not that much, for sure!

I don't use nostromo...
I put the bars like that because its the best way the keyboard fits to my hand :P
The "f2", "f3", "k1", "k2", "k4" probably will change with comming skills like dodge, crit wound, and etc...

Buuuuuttt.... ofc.... if some other dagger have some kind of tip/advice that would help me play better, its pretty much welcome!
This is my first dagger and i am still trying some things

Dunno.... i was just wondering!
I really dont know what would make a scam "legal" or not
This was really a question about if it is or not!
And thanks for attention SACE
ps.: U looked pretty well in that video released about H5! ;)

LOL! That made my day.

Yes but the title of the shop make it a scam to me.
Even that u dont consider it as some illegial i think such ppl should get a warning. It simply sucks for the game to see more and more of this ppl on the market. Same as lol C Earring as Zaken, BO Gems as S Gems etc etc.
the first hint is that it's a package sale.
the Red and black is a pretty good indicator, even if you search for aa, it is different than the others.
you don't have the option to select only some of the item, it's all or nothing.
so even if you get past the red and black... this should be a deterrent.

i remember having buy shops pretending to be sell shops, people would think they had a good deal, and in turn would be giving a good deal instead.

this was rather effective.

but a scam... is when an item is marketed as something it is not, and they fixed most known scams, if not all of them.
Soul Crystals are still easy to fool people with since they all look the same...
but things like S gems and phoenix beads are different now.

anyway...
i'm glad i'm not the only one who notices these things...
and it pains me to know that they can continue awaiting a foolish buyer.

whenever you see a scam, remember to drop adena around them.
beware those who like to pick that adena up though...
Its the classic bait and switch. Instead of having 10mil AA for 4 adena ea the seller put 4 AA for 10mil ea. Keep your eyes open and pay attention you will see it with many items on the market.

Its hard to say for sure but I am always suspicious of such things. Fortunately, I have not fallen victim to these type of scams but the person selling 10 s arrows for 100m each was definately a RMT

If that is your definition then a real scam doesn't exists, the truth is always there in some way.

It's using the UI to deliberately confuse the victim. It's a scam.

Still. anyone who gets scammed by that doesn't deserve his stuff back so he can throw it away again.
It could have been a mistype, and a misclick as well. They could have accidentally hit the Package Sale button, then mistakenly expected the amount of the item they wished to sell came before the price they wished to sell it at.

Did we just find the owner of the dwarf?
The dwarf belongs to SneezingTiger?
Yep, totally was me. you caught me. lol
Who ever it was is not important, I like it alot. I gives me the feeling to dive in, in a Fantasyworld where little streetmugger and fraudster try to overhelm you. L2 is a dangerous world. You have to be carefull.
So am I getting this strait, if I over price an item in my private shop im a scammer but if I underprice it im a fool. So basically people are saying if they can't get something for less than what they want to spend they are being scammed.

Back when EWD were going for 500k ea I use to buy and sell and make good adena until one day I put up a shop with 200 EWD for 50k ea. Trust me I didnt get any emails or pms saying I was scamming. But those EWD sure did sell fast LOL.

What Sace was saying is that in the private store system of Lineage II anyone can sell any item for whatever price they want to sell the item for. If you decide to purchase that item for that price, its your decision. It's not a scam just because the buyer didnt pay attention to the price.
Easy to say you should check all the prices and that your a moron to fall for this, but when your spending hours buying/crafting kind of easy to fall for some of these silly things, i think i fell for the D gems that were supposed to be SOP once lol
i dont think this should be allowed. whether it is RMT or a scam, i believe that people should be able to report these people and have them temp banned at first offense, and perma banned after that.

i know they are paying customers, ncsoft, but nobody wants to have these kind of players in game.

nothing ruins a gaming experience like getting super excited that you found a good deal, then feeling your stomach drop when you realized you just threw away all of your money to a thief (or in my case, more than all of your money)

From all the problems l2 society faces you pinpoint the shop scammers?

then try not to get too super excited over a game and check what you're buying
@ kruken you are not a scammer if you just overprice what you sell. you scam if lets say you sell sepulcher beads but you advertise them in your shop as Gems S and though the beads cost nothing you sell them for as much as the gems S cost. If you write on shop WTS sepul beads noonee will buy whatever the price but if you write gems S some will fall.

Overpricing wont make you a scammer being clever in the market gets you the ability to overprice things and the others that buy them from you will also say thanks, but its hole different idea to sell nothing for something else and sell something for 2 or 3 or 4 or..times its normal price.

@skoobs RMT is 100% different than scamming ( scaming in game shops or through shouts and trades). Rmt brakes the law when you sell something that you dont own like in game adena.
Scaming on the other hand you are doing transactions totaly in game and since you dont force anyone to buy from you banning someone for this is kind of extreme
Old as world, but should be fixed somehow. Maybe with "/evaluatescammer" system or something like that. But it's very hard to implement such system, because usual shops will use this system too, in their "price wars" ;)
And such scam can be even RMT, who knows? Not in this case, this char, with such "unique" name :) - is common scammer, but when I see someone selling 1 DSS for 1bil in Dion - 100% RMT. And when I make an ingame petition (was long time ago), GM said me "Sorry, but we don't interfere into player-to-player transactions".
If I remeber right this the main reason they implemented different colors for different adena amounts. I agree scamming is bad behavior but it doesnt warrent bans. I put it on the same level as high level toons running around pking lowbies. I remember in dion lvl 60+ toons hanging out in D grade getting poeople to pvp and then waxing thier buts lol. I didnt like it but its not something someone should be banned for.

It's not a missclick, misstype, nothing from these. I saw on Naia many of those scammers selling 4 pieces of AA for 3.229.484 or something like this. There are a LOT of scammers cause everyone knows that many ways to earn adena was destroyed by updates, events, ppls are desperated to do even that things like scam.
I don't know how is on Chronos, but on Naia there are mats buying dwarves. 95% of them are buying mats for much lower price than in NPC and I'm afraid that there are lazy idiots selling them those mats.
nice pick macro lololol

Pick macro? What are you talking about....
Pick macro? What are you talking about....

In the screenshot there is a macro in the F3 space that says "pick"
In the screenshot there is a macro in the F3 space that says "pick"

:) lol ... Ahh I see that now...nothing wrong with that...
I can't believe that you made a topic over this tbh :), anyone who would buy it this way shouldn't play L2 or it should change "dealer" ;)

When we talk about scams, there was an way to pro scam in earlier chronicles. You had people setting up shop with buying lets say Infernium ore for 25k adena each and buying like 1000 of it, and next to him another guy that sells Infernium ore for 22k adena each. Now mainly it was an item that person doesn't have in inventory so it can't check and it must buy at least 1 to be able to check sale store of other guy. But what happens is that other guy can't purchase it cose it somehow bugged an Weight limit of the char so you end up with useless item thinking you could have made some profit.
But i think this should be fixed now cose you can't set up shop to get over weighted cose game calculates how heavy items will be so this is no longer possible i think :)

serious dude? 1. i am concentrating on shop scammers because THAT IS WHAT THIS THREAD IS ABOUT. 2. why WOULDNT you get excited over a good deal?
I think its good to remind ppl of certain scam methods, no matter how old those methods are, there are still some folks in the game who havent heard of it.
i think what hes trying to ask is how does ncsoft allow for people to do that in game to other players, go to korea and try that, see what happens.

+1
i've only heard about what koreans do and how seriously they take the game considering some people make a profession out of gaming lineage 2, but the little ive heard is accounts are linked to actual social security numbers and people and if you scam people there are real life repercussions.

"To sign up for a game account, Internet users must provide their name and resident registration number, which is the main form of national identification." This is from a Id theft link i found in google.

Some other spanish ones that say if you use a fake KSSN, which is the korean social security number, to open a game account you can end up in jail or pay something like 6,300 euros or 9,300 US$, which is roughly 10 million Won.
