Um.... am I the only one that thinks the hero chests are going to be pretty much worthless to a large part of the server population (except D-A graders). As the gear, more importantly the weapons will have no element on them.....

A large part of the server population doesn't have all subs at level 76+ yet.

The whole point of this is bringing people closer to the end-game, in preparation for GoD's arrival.

So giving people unelemented weapons ;o speeds things up for reaching 85? Considering you can buy a low S grade item with SA/element for 50kk on naia im sure that is far better than a no ele +4 dyn wep+sa
If NC where to add element to weapons and armor given during this event, then it would be a complete disaster for the market. This is a help to ppl to get some subs up, or get back into the game. and lets just say it again. HELP !!!!!.
If the items came with element, sale on real items would stop instantly, and the only items that would be traded on server is s84+. and a result is that the value of items below s84 would drop alot. ppl gonna say 90 days aint much, and it wont change anything. but take a look at what effect H5 have had on the market. Auctions a draining servers for adena, and market almost completely stopped. No one have adena for anything and everyone have loads of items they cant sell now. Even though items in the gift dont have element, i fear that this gonna add to this effect anyways.
As the situation is atm, alot of ppl are almost ruined couse their items have dropped so much in value, and only those who had stockpiled adena before H5 actualy benefited from the update.
while an unelemented S grade weapon/armor doesn't have much value... it still has value...
even more so if it's dynasty weapon/armor/jewels...
Specially in my case where i don't have ANY S grade at ALL right now.... well except for a dynasty pole.... but that's it..
Rest of it is A grade or less... which leaves me in a bit of a pickle as i can't even element those things simply due to the fact that you can't...
So as it stands...
Do i prefer not having anything at all.... or having something?
While i would personally like it if they allowed us to CHOOSE which armor set we would like to keep permanently....... getting anything is nice too... for free...

same boat. common A jewels, DCLight, Dragon grinders (real). i am currently worth 25 million adena as a package sale.
who's gonna buy it tho? nobody. i am stuck with my gear.
my remaining adena stores were just now spent on my Dynasty fists (clean, no element). i can now only play the sit-at-giran Lineage2.

I have to disargre with you when you say it will be useless for the most part of the server. I think the goal intent with this boxes are for returning players or players running subs.
People that don't want the box and are higher level will buy it for the cape not for the box.
I think what most classes after 75 need are buffs.
I see a big difference after newbee buffs arent available anymore on my trickster to before. I dont think any Element will help me there.
On the other hand my SS just goes out to DV and kills Dracos without a sa on the weapon and without Elements. Now i have farmed enough Dark Stones there to element to 150.
The effect of this is that i now need 4 shots for one instead of 4+.
Not a big deal
In Conclusion. Im always self buffed when I hunt and that makes this possible. Elements are just a little help.
