Ok so I used to play on Teon back in the day and played for around 2 years now I have noticed all the servers have merged into two. Since ncsoft have reactivated all accounts for a while I am going to make a new char and see if I can get the feel for it again, I just wondered you if guys could answers some questions for me? thanks.
1. I noticed this is the most active server but its NA and since I am from UK would I have problems here with exping or future raid times?
2. If I did find my love for L2 again would I have any problems finding a clan and people to exp with at 40+?
3. Since I am making a new char I am considering levelling a wolf up with me as this used to be a good money making idea for when it gets to level 55, is this still a good way?
4. My final question is what would be a good class to make which would enable me to find exp groups without having to spend all night looking? (I dont mind playing any class tbh so I am thinking about them all atm)
1) Sieges/TW/Oly are all at bad times for you, but everything else really just depends on the clan/party you lvl or raid with.
2) I'm sure there are smaller pve clans that will help you, if you decide to play then you should ask around for an academy. It will let them get to know you a bit before sticking you in their main clan.
3) Wolf could be useful if you role a support class (like WC or healer); however, it's not really the money maker that it once was.
4) Cardi/ee/spoiler are usually in demand at the higher levels (most especially cardi).
1. If you play on Naia, the new European server which merged Teon/Franz/Luna, you won't have problems with sieges/tw times. Your problem will be getting a lvl 85 char so you can actually participate in these events, without being 1 shotted that is.
2. You'll have huge problems, nobody will party you at lvl 40+ Your only hope is to get your own buffer and "xp" until normal level 83+ when clans might accept you. Other option is to SOE to town each hour and get newbie buffs. I have tried getting parties with my PP 65+, shouting in Giran/Aden, and I couldn't find any party. Basically almost any 40+ spot is empty, I've checked those too.
3. As a healer you have no use for a wolf. By healer I mean EE/BP. You can get a wolf if your class will be WC, PP or SE, or else it's useless. You should get a kookaburra and xp your EE/BP as it can recharge you but NOT to make money, DD type of pets are useless unless well buffed.
4. SWS definetely or Cardinal. Basically any support class, since everyone else in this game wants to play a DD and there was always a lack of supports in the game.
On a serious note, not sure why you would want to return to game, there is definitely no fun in this game killing mobs all day, unless you hit lvl 85 and get good gear/epics and will be accepted in one of the top clans on server.

To anyone starting up or having difficulties finding parties, start with leaving the bad attitude behind, and make some friends. If you learn how to play your class , and dont go AFk for 10 minutes every 5 minutes, you can actually meet people that enjoy having you in party.
find a PvE clan that you like and be friendly and accomodating. Needy people get left behind. Complainers dont get parties just cause they complain about it, it's annoying and a turn off. If you habitually do dumb things, you will be at the bottom of the party list, and you may find that all the parties are "full".
im from the uk also, u wont have trouble xping on chronos but as ipwn said eventuallly things like tw sieges even oly u have to be someone that doesnt need to get up in the morning to enjoy, cos for us they are at silly o clock ><
If ppl r seriously telling u no clan wants u at 40 thats sad and i refuse to believe its true ive seen clans shouting for any lvls (just dont remember who atm:-S)

couldnt disagree more never been top lvl never been top gear never applied to a top clan - not everyone thinks thats the only aim in l2 :-P
I have been doing a lot of research on here and other forms and people seem to point me in the direction or summoner has I will be starting from scratch here and I am told since I probably will not see anyone till I am 60+ it is also the best solo class.
I am just wondering if anyone can confirm this before I invest time in levelling one? Also are summoners required in groups?

They are wanted in DV groups because of the morale buff you get with them, but other than that they're not so much in demand.
If you played for 2 years u should have a respected lvl? Some gears? So why to start from 0 i cant get this patt. About NA times works best for me and i guess for alot more ppls we r alot eu players around.

Shots are sold by store, so no flux in price on those. And you can kill mobs dressed in C grade all the way to 85 if you like. Although it migh not be recommended.

Add that no more crystals for summon. Ore they r way cheaper than c or even a crystals...
Dont know Smittie and dont care to, but i agree with him on this one. Every person ignore u and dont say hi wille pass next to him dont make him bot they just dont care about u passing u need to look better around u
maybe for you thats not fun. but i'll kill 10k mobs before you kill 10k players.
specially in this underpopulated game. i dunno why anyone plays L2 for pvp, its not even as though people play their classes anymore its all bots.
I didn't read what comment Sace removed, so I'll just answer to this one. I assume you were talking about the programs used in PvP when you said it's all bots.. well that's true, who has the better scripts, who has the most QHP and won't run out of CP/MP will win.
NCSoft is giving equal chances to anyone: anyone can be 85lvl, have gear, epics (hello instanced raids), OE skills and resists on armor. Codexes are sold for like 200k on Naia, whereas in the past they were sold for 20kk+ and were accessible only to few players. Elemental stones are dropping almost anywhere now, whereas in the past they were dropping only in HB/IOP and were a nightmare to farm.That's why they have banned most of the bots, that's why prices are so low.
I would personally be more happy to bring bots back, but have all PvP program users removed.Mind me... you can pve all you want, but at one point you'll still have to PvP for your xp spot maybe , then what ? ...

Depends. Warlocks/Arcana Lords are easily invited into PvE fighter groups for their cat buff, but buffing one buff once in 2 minutes is a quite boring activity unless you are also serving as a puller.
And both other "true" summoners get invited into DV groups.
ya im stuggling to find one in particular - where would a sub with a cat (as in the summoner kind not pantha thingy) move to after crypts ?

i have only played during these events after mergers and i see alot of parties for under 80s now, they are even using party chatlines to find players. very refreshing to say the least, but this is chronos

After lots lots thinking :p ( too busy rl stuffs) well yeah there is not bots on server,at least on 60+ areas (doing subs atm) use to be crazy on this lvl us u will know if u dint start yesterday.when u had find room in witch cata or when u find mob on VoS im med part few years bck...well yeah now they r clean.
( dont rush say bots lvl up they xp higher. This was classic farm spots for matterials and often u wat himg the spoiler doing dlvl so to stay on lvls)
I cant even see dorfs dlvling on dorf vilage omg we "live" on paradise O.o
