Elements

I read that some classes will be stroger at some elements (If i got it right)
Elf>water
dark elf>wind
orc>fire

and so on...

My question is...
after GoD, would we be able to change the element type of a weapon???

I mean... some ppl worked hard to put +300 element on his weapon...
When GoD come, what should an orc do with his +300 wind weapon???
Orcs are already stronger with fire....self buff ;)
Why would an Orc have a 300 wind weapon - except to farm earth elem mobs to level? Most orcs have some fire skill.

As it is now some classes are already better with some element:
Elf - SpS - Water
Dark Elf - SH - Wind
Most orcs - Fire

They have elemented skills that get the bonus if the weapon has the same element. Other classes can enchant some skills for elements but for higher enchant values the +power or +pvp enchant usually is the better option.
If the fighting gets as skill based as it seems, weapon elements will only be good for classes that have elemented skills.

I also think that you will get the race-bonus only after awakening (when you will get new R grade equip) and it is only resist not attack.
From the great calculator of all things Lineage, Diego Vargas, the next break point after 300 element is 500 element. No real point to non-mage class aligned to a specific element.
In fact I dont know any orc with fire pole! :P
It was just an exemple i made just for this post...

but i do have a Wind Rider (elf) with a Fire dagger....

If it will only affect resist, ok....
But if it will affect atack i think we should be able to change the element somehow
(maybe inshuma :D like we make with dynasty armor types)
because i doubt we'll get awakened with new R weapons ready to be elemented!

In your case it's irrelevant the type of element you use because you have no self buffs to increase any one element(sps has a water self buff, sh has a wind self buff, etc). Using a water dagger on a wr isn't going to have any difference than using a fire dagger.

Lf diegofirmation, I never managed to go deeper than 400 :/
Even if we get +20 element attack depending on race, you would still be better off with 300 holy to max your elem value (holy weapon + dance) than 300 wind for your WR.
Get elements your enemies are weak against - if you can afford it. Else just choose what fits you best.

Orcs with wind pole are probably farming Stakkato or CoD and then they would not change their weapons element just for a little bonus that gets negated by mobs resist.
Is there any particular element that is good for a spoiler? I have heard fire but don't know why :p So far my 80 scav doesn't seem to have any element skills and I have always heard enchanting for power > element.

Would wind on ica hammer suffice for her? What mobs at 80+ are weak to fire or wind that a dwarf would be hunting?

Speak up all you dorfs out there! :D
I think Spoil Bomb is earth, but I'm not sure - and even if it is, I wouldn't get an earth weapon just for that. If you can enchant skills to +10 or more, power is almost always better than element except when you can get to a high breakpoint on some mobs with the +x element. Also some of your skills have a debuff effect as well and in that case chance is better as well.

Fire is cheap and there aren't that many fire resist mobs unless you want to pole in FoG or Sel Mahum.

Giants Cave, Isle of Prayer and Beast farm are water type, so they are weak to fire.
CoD, AL and Stakkato Nest are earth type (CoD and AL have a mix of earth/dark mobs) - weak to wind.

Also:
MoS is holy - weak to dark
DoE and solo area of DV is dark (also some mobs in AL and CoD) - weak to holy
Sel Mahum is fire - weak to water.

Keep in mind that the difference between weak/neutral/strong is usually only about 20-40 element per step. Try to avoid elements that are resisted in spots you want to hunt and only go for a weakness elem if you are sure that you will spend most of your time at that spot.

R grade weapon will make that one obsolete. your enchanted skills will be reset to zero for 4th class change so previous enchants for element are pointless. we have not seen enchant routes for new skills so we dont know if we enchant for elements outside of the new racial elements. you are stuck like everyone else waiting for more GoD info.
Thanks_Aithne_ :) helps a lot.

one more question, if a mob is say weak to fire, does that mean it is always resistant to the opposite water?

(omg this forum is laggy  )

Typically a safe assumption.

as i understand it from others who have tried it (and yes someone in my alliance has tried it) Wind element helps the damage done by the skill raging force as it is a wind attack.

with that said, enchanting the ranged force skills for wind attack will round out the skill set and make wind a reasonable element choice.

however as i said this is not data i myself have tried, only been told. i posed the question when i was shown the fists with wind element - i thought fire would also be best.

i was mistaken i suppose.
There are a lot of exceptions but in higher levels (and new areas) most mobs have an "attack type" and as phoenixdown said it's pretty safe to assume they reist their attack type and are weak to the opposite.

Some known exceptions:
Old "Plant" and "bug" type mobs are weak to fire but have the same water resist as any other element. Not sure about Stakkato Nest but I think they may have a slight weakness to fire as well.
"Fairies" resist wind but are not weak to earth.
Many flying mobs are weak to wind but don't resist earth.

Concerning mob race these are also noteworthy:
"Undead" and "demon" are weak to holy and resist dark.
"Angels" are weak to dark and resist holy.

As many mobs in FoG are "demons" or "bugs" I actually think mobs there do not resist fire and are not weak to water... haven't been there much, so I don't know for sure.

Edit:
@Spudnik: yes, "Raging Force" is wind but "Burning Fists" is fire and "Dark Form" adds +20 fire. If you want to add to Raging Force damage you can use a wind weapon but that makes Dark Form useless. and it will lower the damage of burning fists.
Any element is reasonable if you have skills for it, enchant skills for it or just fight mobs that are weak to that elem.
Makes sense, thanks :)

omg my OL got Prominance lvl 10 fire nuke aug on the ica hammer/fire :D It's the sorcs main nuke and it is quite awesome lol was 2nd stone :D some pdef and such too!

spoiler has the wind hammer now and can't get a decent augment :( lol

/bump people plz don't invest to much adena in weapon/skill upgrades as in GoD after 4th class change it will become redundant.. if your short on adena then be prudent and wait till Korean PTS update info is known.

Link source plz. I've never heard that. Ever.
