Been seeing a lot of private shops in Giran buying mats for less than you can NPC them for. Actually, it's the vast majority of shops that are priced like that. So do yourself a favor and check the NPC value of the item before selling it to players.
Bad for server. Taking mats away from market kills crafts. But I also sell to NPC. Especially mats like Orichalcum. Because Giant's Cave supplies those with the millions. Some mats go no value at all, because crafts higher then A-grade don't need them.
Though mentioned again in a number of threads .. Still good to inform ppl ..
Just to add here ..
Player shops buy crystals for less than NPC
Player shops buy items for less than NPC would pay if the item was crystallized and that holds true even for items you would not thought of like Vorpal Jewels
.... like the infamous metal hardener?!
Best mat to get on Hellbound. Really pays of the Ores and Shots. But yeah, mats like Thread, Stem, Metal Hardener some of the Molds (and Glue/Hard/Lube) really aren't needed for S84 crafts. After S-grd all you need is: Crafted Leather, Orichalcum, Synthentic Cokes, Mithrill Alloy, DMP and some random lost Metallic Fiber or High Grade Suede to do all your crafting.
I really hope that all the Mats, I sell for under NPC price will help, making Items even cheaper. :-)

It should, but i.e. I was making about 5mil loss per craft on Vesper Circlets because key-parts were just **** expensive. Making it very expensive to do crafts and hard to regain the money by selling non-rare items.
Crafting is only worth if u wanna get rare items. Otherwise forget it.
Vesper Helmet craft is around 25-30kk in Naia, while the Helmet's sell for 15-20kk, Gaiters cost is around 40-45kk while they sell for +/- 20kk.
The main problem is that the key mats are hard to get while fulldrops are everywhere.
Personally i sell most of my mats now to NPC since prices in buyshops from ppl are most time under NPC price.
We also buy ready made, dont got for rare and we profit from ppl that want to get rare. We also dont like failing the craft, so, the choice is obvious, better buy from ppl that get them as drop or craft to get rare. I have thousands of mats collected for a year or so, currently i sell what i get in npc shop. This means adena has a high value these days, we are not far or even reached the equilibrium of adena going and coming into game, at least till next update...

i am not sure which mats you are referring to, keymats or craft mats
if keymats, then indeed be cautious. if craft mats then have no fear. craft mats like animal skin, bones, iron won't be thrown away so readily; people will stock pile those mats for mass crafting or such. its a safe bet they wont be throwing those mats to NPC's.

Wrong. I do have stockpiles of those and now giving to NPC. I dont put sale shop for mats, it is not worth the time lost to set it up for the difference compared to the shop. Also dreamer is right, Naia's market is dead for parts, those go to NPC too.

Unfortunately my friend, your noble motives actually harm the game .. Because all the people that buy the underpriced mats just go and sell them to NPC for a profit.
That tactic just wastes resources because time spent from Person A is cashed out for less than NPC values it (which most of the times is even less that it's pure worth). In that way it's a completely useless player created adena sink for the player that originally farmed the items.
Player B (the buyer) creates an adena sink for Player A (the farmer). Player A looses adena by selling under NPC price (adena sink that offers nothing) and Player B makes a proffit (doing nothing more than sitting there, actually acting like an NPC).
As a whole (adena circulation) it's not different than Player B selling its mats to NPC, result is the same. If you examine it closer, hard working Player B uses an 10%-20% mats value adena sink for no reason.
I noticed that with the crystals so now ive set shop to buy crystals at just a touch more then npc stores which i then turn into soulshots and sell back to the players at a lot less then most other player stores are selling for
if new players cant be bothered to check the price of things before selling them to the player stores they should get less adena for them, or we can just train another wave on mentally incapable people that will eventually QQ in the forums when getting scamed.

then YOU are the reason crafting is expensive and not worth the time.
you - maomao - need to stop that. buyback your mats. if you can't use them, then for the 100k you might have gotten from your stockpile of mats drop them on the floor and lets someone else use it for their stuff.
yep same...I sell alot of the mats for low lvl items to the NPC, not worth the time to set up shop to sell anymore. All the mats for S grade and higher I will still sell or use.
Naia is far away from being dead.
I only hope that the shops move from aden back to giran again, cos the space in aden is getting lesser and lesser for shops.
Well i am not happy with the market at all, since i have a lot for sale, but it is simply that many ppl sell gear cos of coming God to have adena in stock.
best example are the cry buyer just lol all (nearly) scammers xD in fact i sell all my cry too only to npc bc player shop buy them under the npc price, the intresting is that a lot newbi players sell to this scamshops^^
looks nice buisnes to buy cry a for 6k or less and sell it to npc for 7,5k
Maybe for some ppls work to make couple mil every week IF lucky with the crystals shops. For me like in real life i want the big i rather have no adena and get smthing to sell for X000000000 adena than wasting time and ofc real life money by keeping acount 24/7 on line to buy cryst and make prof lol 1 mil / week

Then you'll have to nothing. To have the big deal in L2 like in RL, you have to move your rear, not wait for a drop.
in L2 in order to make it big, you can't wait for the million adena drop, as in RL you can't wait to win the lottery. If it's fine to you no problem, but it isn't a recommanded behavior for those complaining here about their empty purse.
