Lets say your screen got a resolution of 1980x1200 like mine, i set resolution to 2880x1800 so every pixel is only 75% of normal size, same effect like antialiasing, but for whole screen.
FSAA is your answer for anything.... although a dummy doubled resolution and them shrunk to fit screen would essentially result in the same (as mentioned in this thread already).. would allow one to use HDR or Improved shader with an FSAA effect.
Either way......
as i'm currently running 3456x2048, i would have to (as shrinking to fit would have the best visual benefit with a 4:1 ratio.. meaning 4x the resolution then using a 4 referrence pixels to figure out the best image for 1 pixel that will actually be shown...)
well Judas, you would be the only person having the supercomputer making possible what you just said :P
but true, FSAA in Lineage2 by driver forcing (nvidia inspector) produces everything but a better picture, this actually does with allowing one activating all the "cool" stuff from the Lineage 2 control panel.
Anyways, if I would take 4x1 Resolution, I wouldn't be probably able to read the chat :D
