Fortune Seeker after Awakening?

General Discussion Started Last reply 13 posts
Hi all,
someone knows what happens to Fortune Seekers?
Othell Rogue has a skill "Plunder", thats the new "Spoil"+"Sweep"?
Or there is no new Spoil and the Skills from FS stay and can be used until 99?
If I awake into Tyr Warrior I'm not a Spoiler any more?

Hope someone has information about, hadn't found anything in Forum or Web about that.

Regards,

Butterbluemchen
Spoil, Spoil Festival and Spoil Crush must all be given up at lvl 85 to learn Plunder:

If you choose to use you Stone of Destiny and turn your Fortune Seeker into a Tyr Warrior instead of an Othel Rogue, as would be the normal course, you will not be a Spoiler any more. Plunder is not a racial skill but a class skill.

As for the importance of Plunder, check what I answered Remington here:

Ty for your fast answer.. so I should go the way of Othell Rogue :/
Hoped I can stay in Heavy and with blunts, but seems I need to go for LA and daggers.. or can't use some of the skills / benefits from awakening.
If you wanna use heavy armor and blunts, perhaps you should consider awakening to something else?
I could... but I wanna be a spoiler and just Othell Rogue can learn "Plunder" right? So I need to change that to go on.
It is true that only the Othel Rogue can learn "Plunder". The question is, do you really want to be a Spoiler? Take a look at the R85 Immortal Tunic recipe here:

As you can see, the times where you needed 100 Asofe and 500 Crafted Leather are over. It's now 2 Itonium Alloy and 3 Ertel. That means you won't be able to earn significant money by selling huge quantities of materials obtained through spoiling. The NCKorea Powerbook Wikipedia has in the meantime updated the skills to GoD, so hopefully we will get the monster datasheets with drops and plunders in the course of the next week. Then we will see whether you can maybe plunder key materials for R-Grade equipment. But be prepared for losing a way of life :p

Smittie is basically right. As far as playstyle is concerned, a Tyr Warrior with heavy armor and sword/blunt masteries will be closer to the present Fortune Seeker than an Othel Rogue. On the other hand, a Dwarfen Fighter will have 85 CON which means you will have considerably more blood than a Dark Elf Fighter with 77 CON. That means even if you are a lightly armored Rogue, you won't be walking as close to the abyss as your traditional Dagger :)

Personally I'd like to know (on behalf of my girlfriend) if it's possible to go Tyrr Warrior and still keep the old Spoil/Spoil Festival/Spoil Crush and so? Or that get's remove when you change to any other awakening class other than what you're intended to normally take?
She wants to be able to continue to spoil, pole and so...but that **** Othell Rogue is no poler so >>
And Tyrr Warrior isn't a spoiler... :<
All Spoil and Sweep skills are automatically forgotten on Awakening:

If ex-Fortune Seekers become Othell Rogues, they can learn Plunder, otherwise no spoil.

As far as poling is concerned, you should take into consideration that Vampiric Rage works only on about 20% of all hits. From what I have observed so far, the fact that you can also get back blood with skill attacks seems to compensate a bit for that, but you might want to ask professional polers about their experiences post-GoD.

So that basically means that it's impossible for a FS to Awaken and keep on poling and spoiling at the same time.
Good job NCFail for destroying the Fortune Seeker class....means my girlfriend can never ever awaken her Fortune Seeker when she wants to be able to still keep on poling and spoiling.. :/

Someone better learn how to deal with change, you all act like it's a big deal when it's not

It's still a way too big change for the ones that wanted to play FS the way it always was (a FS in light armor and dual daggers isn't really a proper FS imho at least). Being forced to awaken into a daggerclass from a class that could use heavy armor, blunts, polearms, could do aoe poling, aoe spoiling etc, is kinda not really just a change, that's for my gf feeling like a kick in the face for the class she loves to play as it used to be.
You know what is the most bitter thing ....?

We waited for like 7-8 years for that sweeper festival skill ..... we should have been at least able to have it for at least half that much.
