Hi everyone,
We have some new abilities that all players to get GM-buff-like rewards from certain NPCs. These NPCs will be in-game from time to time when we want to give a thank-you to players, or as part of an event. No server maintenance is required to add or remove these NPCs.
Today, we introduce to you 1 of the 2 NPCs. The other will be introduced at a later date.
Angel Cat: This NPC may look like and have the same name as the one from the Anniversary Letters Event, but he is different. Angel Cat can give you buff items, similar to but better than Fresh Milk.
FAQ:
When will these NPCs been in-game?
These NPCs only visit on special occasions as announced by staff. Sometimes, only 1 NPC will visit, other times, both will. The duration of their visits may vary. Any time a NPC visits, we'll post announcements with their date-and-time arrival and departure.
Where can I find these NPCs in-game?
When they visit, you can find them in any town or village, near the Gatekeeper.
What are the buffs/items they give?
Angel Cat gives Angel Cat's Blessing:
This is a buff item.
When Angel Cat visits, he will offer up to 4 buff items to one character per server on every game account. The number of buff items varies according to GM discretion. It might happen that an event tells you that Angel Cat will give you more than 4 items. If this is the case, Angel Cat will have a brief absence during the event and will return with the additional potions.
The item description is: "When used, HP Recovery Bonus, Max MP, and Critical Atk. Rate =20%, and you can feel the effects of Prophecy of Water, Might, Haste, Empower, Acument, Wind Walk, Vampiric Rage, Berserker Spirit, Shield, Focus, Death Whisper, Guidance, Clarity, Wild Magic, and Concentration for 1 hour. Cannot be exchanged, dropped, or destroyed. Can be stored in a private warehouse."
This item cannot be shared via Dimensional Merchant.
What are some important things to know about these NPCs and their rewards?
These NPCs only visit on special occasions as announced by staff.
GM buffs by staff members continue to be a special bonus that only occur when GMs are in-game.
Angel Cat: You can only receive his buff item(s) on one character per game account per server. The buff item cannot be transferred via Dimensional Merchant. If he is giving more than 1 of the buff items, they are giving to your character all at once; it is not possible to give 1 to one character and 1 to a different character on the same account. Choose your character carefully; the character that collects the buff item(s) will be the only character on that account and server that can use them.
What are some great things about the Angel Cat buff item?
The buff items are stackable in your inventory.
You can decide when to use the item and activate the buff on your character.
The items do not expire, so you can hold onto them as long as you like.
Are the buff items tradable, or sharable via Dimensional Merchant?
No, Angel Cat's Blessing is not tradable nor sharable via Dimensional Merchant.
Today, welcome Angel Cat! He will give your character 2 of his Angel Cat's Blessing buff items. He will be in-game from today until the next maintenance on Wednesday, July 6! :D
Remember, only 1 character per game account can collect the items from him. Choose your character wisely!
would of been better off giving out vita pops. these buffs are useless to anyone who is a buffer or who ptys one and it also makes ppl not invite buffers to pty.

Again only for 1 character ? After paying tons of $ for subclass seperations again I feel cheated by ncsoft as it seems they have no clue about their own system and promisses.

I just express myself, MMO "make ppl contact", give this type of item to ppl, its not cool imo, cos this item ll make ppl play alone, and not together.
And just some % of players really can use those, the other % has boxed buffs and other stuff like, CP or even clan hall buffs.
I wondering if I can keep this buff itens until the double xp event, or they ll be removed, when the event over?
im confused will the angel cat be giving these items out all week long multiple times. for example i just went to the angel cat got my buffs. will the cat disapear after some time? if so when he reappears will i be able to get more buffs?:rolleyes:

High level and long term players always think they are the center of the games attention...
Being able to bottle a buff and keep it for a 2x event is a good thing... If you don't think just don't use...
These npcs weren't planned at all, they are here to make things up for the postponed rabbit event...
They are a gift, not something players asked for or was planned first...
You may like some things and dislike others but never think you are playing this alone... Someone will be helped by this, of that I'm certain...

This is one time per NPC spawn. During this week, each account can only claim the potions once. We are leaving them up for the duration of the week so that everyone has a chance to claim their potions.
I understand the buffs for these potions are not as great as the GM buffs we give occasionally. We would like the GM buffs to remain a little more special. :)

Thanks Sace and Moxie! A very nice bonus, and unexpected plus to help us all out. This will especially help the lower level, new and returning players - including those new to our clans...and other clans.

It does surprise me sometimes how players don't appreciate the work put into something like this - it's a bonus, that wasn't planned for. Those of you who have been around for awhile know this is unusual - very welcomed - but unusual. And a good move toward attracting and keeping new and returning players!

to make it "equal" to gm buffs i mean when gm comes im not lurking for his buffs im lurking for vitality like many more people are..
i understand some people are really happy with buffs, but since ur forcing people in this game somewhat to box a buffer alot of people have buffs 24/7 on their *** and this pot doesnt help them in any possible way :P
still its not a bad thing, just askin for some vit restoration inside the buff pot
buff pot = buffs + full vit restored.
bet u make alot more people happy especially with double XP coming up so they can restore their vit when they are EXP, u have no clue how many people where hopin the rabbit event would give vit pots as reward.
dont forgot, they allways try delete some good event itens they give to us.
The buff items Angel Cat gives will not be deleted. You keep them as long as you want and consume them when you want. Glad we can still surprise you. :)

We cannot change the design of the Angel Cat's Blessing items, and as we mentioned, we are keeping "GM buffs" as something special. In reality, the buffs and the vit refill we do when GMs are present are two different things. And, as you know, we often do then when there's double XP events or on other occasions. So the Blessing items are really an added bonus on top of all that. No, it's not a vitality potion, but you will see vitality refills in the future.
i understand some people are really happy with buffs, but since ur forcing people in this game somewhat to box a bufferalot of people have buffs 24/7 on their *** and this pot doesnt help them in any possible way :P
No player is forced to do anything. We encourage parties with other players, but in the end players can play as they choose. In Goddess of Destruction, we expect it will be easier to make parties with other players. Even then, like now, regardless of your class, buff potions like these still give your experience a bit of a bonus.
Hi Sace and Moxie just to clarify, the angel cat npc appear now and stay for one week. One character per account get to claim an 1 hour buff potion, does this reset every 24hour? or it only 1 blessing potion for the whole week. Thank you for the buff potion.

Angel Cat is giving 1 character per account 2 potions. The NPC does not reset. It is 2 blessing potions for the whole week.
2 Pots, for one week, each with a 1 hour duration on them.
Means, for 2 full hours i have some useful buffs, as long as i dont dualbox a buffer.
Means those buffs are completly pointless unless you solo.
On the other hand, this is free stuff we are getting. 2 full hours of useful buffs for everyone who doesnt have a buffbox. That actually is somewhat useful, but clearly nothing compared to Vit refill from GM buffs.
Its just as with almost everything in Lineage 2: For some players its useful, other dont need it and moan about this "utter useless ****". Usual stuff. ;)
Someone has studied suggestions about GM buffs at other threads .. Please consider a 24h reuse timer for the cat .. Example ..
Cat gives buff at 15:00 today, toon will be able to ask again 24 hours later aka 15:01 next day. People that really need the buffs (no high levels, no boxed buffers, no CH, etc) will remember to login 24 hours later, others will not care / will forget.

Well still these buffs not enough to make so good XP alone as in a good party.
Thank you for the two Buffpots. Especially giving out potions, so we can freely choose when to use them.
Considering the circumstances I'm glad everything turns out so well. Since everyone of my clan will be on holiday soon i can use them to Level my Sub to 80. :D
If (And thats a big if) i would have a wish free, I'd rather see Vitality items. Full Vitality helps me even solo leveling fast than with advanced Buffs. But i think you know that. ;)

Wrong again, let me explain why, about the double xp event, THAT EVENT HELPS ALOT, but the double xp event help even more the veteran players that have tons of vitally itens, its simple. when we get buffs from gm, we use those buffs and vita until vita=0 and a big part of us go to wait another vita refil, in the other way, veteran players with 200 cakes or 200 vita pop dont do this, they farm all week without a break make the real deal about the double xp week.
If they do double xp week with vita pops, it ll almost the same for veteran and new players.
The rabit event it ll be more useful FOR ALL PLAYERS, it can improve market activity, and improve better gears for all and adena, not 2 buff potions once for 7 days.

I've never said anything about Double XP not being more or less useful for anyone. I just said that events help one or another players. There aren't 2 types of players, there are a whole nuance between a hardcore and old player and a casual new player, it's a 2D graphic. Some events are great for new players but don't make much difference to older players. Also, some results of a event will only affect some players in the long term, maybe even after the event ifself has ended.
As well as 2x XP weeks are good for casual but are really awesome for hardcore players.
I just said some events are good for one and bad for other and if people don't like they can wait for another. I don't think it was wrong to state that. Also, I haven't said that aren't events that help everyone. So, in the end, it's a matter of opinion to think this or that event would help you great time.

THIS is a reason why ppl are lower then Veterans. There are ppl around that play a few months and are 80+++ simply cos they spend a lot of time and dont stop xping when Vit is 0.

If you are that unhappy with the fact, that there are ppl which play several years are higher lvl/better geared/richer then pretty new ppl you shouldnt play this game. I am happy about every new player, but if they kinda hate so much, its maybe the wrong game.
Better to look for a game that is pretty new and start there then.
I LOVE to see players like Luxiel that are new to the game and accept facts but love the game.
This is the kind of players i gladly support in any possible way.

Thanks anyway for these words of support, I loved this game since my first time elsewhere, at C3. Forbidden Gateway was a blast back them!
Unfortunately, here is very different in matters like gear and XP / Money grinding, so it is always good to have people like you and others that have patience to explain things to and understand newbies.
Too bad the market is kinda broken and we are all skipping grades and the game only begins after 3rd transfer, but I still love this game anyway.

I play NA less than 6 months, got 2 toons 78+/1 toon 68 plus boss itens and S84noble, TIME IS NOTHING FOR SOMEONE WHO KNOWS HOW TO PLAY, ANY DUDE CAN START PLAY L2 AND GET THE SAME STUFF THAT ONE VETERAN PLAYER, BUT HE´ll NEVER GET THE SAME VITA REFILS ITENS.
There is a diference between one regular player and one nolife player. Any nolife player knows that is no good farm without vita at any lv. If I farm till my vita goes to 0 at the first day of double xp week, i ll lose the entire week if i cant get gm buffs and vita refil, ANYONE KNOWS THAT, so if I m one veteran guy, i can go to vita 0 pop again and again and again, in the other way, new players cant use the double xp week like veteran players, but they can get same stuff, gears, weapon, skills than the veteran ones, just simple by playing. And veteran dudes dont care about pop 5 or 8 vita refil, they have so many more than this.
Angel Cat left early.. Off to enjoy the long weekend.. Playing some other game maybe! Too bad I took my time deciding which toons really needed the buffs, since it doesn't matter any more. Hope Angel will be well rested when she's back for the 4 pot give-away in the 2x week.

What do you mean he left early? He's still in-game. I just collected my buff potions and even for to the characters that can't collect it he is still visible.
By the way, I just realized that the buff potions can be collected by 1 character per account per server. That may be helpful to some players. :)
I was able to get the buff items twice on 2 different accounts. The one-time restriction may not be in effect (On one of the accounts I managed to get the buff items on 2 different characters on the same server). Not that I'm complaining, might be worth looking into though. Thanks for the gifts!

Exp is so easy right now, I cant really believe ppl are still crying about vitality.
I'm a veteran player, I've been here since prelude, andI can tell you that veteran players dont have hundreds of vitality items.
Each char on an account has been given like 25 revitapots, and then they gave us 15 cookies per char, that are tradable. But unless you started playing within the last few months, your chars have those same cookies.

Oooooh , how much nostalgia it brings :D I mean the times before vitality was implemented.
Maybe you would've rethinked your points if you leveled a char to 6x FOR MONTHS.Coz that was the deal before.Noob buffs till 24...no shadow items for easy early lvling...

Dont get me wrong - I too know , as others , that just those potions are rather ...ineffective...given the whole picture.BUT! They are something! And we should be gratefull that GMs decided to amend for the inconvinience ;)

Angel Cat: You can only receive his buff item(s) on one character per game account. The buff item cannot be transferred via Dimensional Merchant. If he is giving more than 1 of the buff items, they are giving to your character all at once; it is not possible to give 1 to one character and 1 to a different character on the same account. Be careful which character you send to get the buff item(s); the character that collects the buff item(s) will be the only character on your account that can use them.
Someone would call this the real problem with adena.
Exp is so easy right now, I cant really believe ppl are still crying about vitality.
I'm a veteran player, I've been here since prelude, andI can tell you that veteran players dont have hundreds of vitality items.
Each char on an account has been given like 25 revitapots, and then they gave us 15 cookies per char, that are tradable. But unless you started playing within the last few months, your chars have those same cookies.
Stop trying to make it seem that vitapot showers started a long time ago, it's very recent.
I dont know about that, but im talking about cakes too.
As far as i know, xmas cakes happened only this past year so it doesn't apply to your scenario of veterans holding tons of vit items. As for the rest, I'm not sure but it seems like your saying you can't xp during xp event if your vit is 0. That sounds like craziness. Sure if you don't have nevit pots, vit pots, and vit maintenance pots you can't maximize all that the double xp event gives, but I don't know how many newbs or veterans will be able to maximize that way (or even care to).

I used all my cakes up but I still got 80 cookies left on my main then another 70 revita pops in the WH. Got about 30 maintenance pots and my bday pots on my main still for this year lol. I am almost 86 on my main (85 and 100%) so its just maxing out subs and alts. I still only make good money on my main so that is why i still xp it.
Its a little nuts but I learned to maximize my vit and now I probably have more then I can ever use lol.
I play NA less than 6 months, got 2 toons 78+/1 toon 68 plus boss itens and S84noble, TIME IS NOTHING FOR SOMEONE WHO KNOWS HOW TO PLAY, ANY DUDE CAN START PLAY L2 AND GET THE SAME STUFF THAT ONE VETERAN PLAYER, BUT HE´ll NEVER GET THE SAME VITA REFILS ITENS.
There is a diference between one regular player and one nolife player. Any nolife player knows that is no good farm without vita at any lv. If I farm till my vita goes to 0 at the first day of double xp week, i ll lose the entire week if i cant get gm buffs and vita refil, ANYONE KNOWS THAT, so if I m one veteran guy, i can go to vita 0 pop again and again and again, in the other way, new players cant use the double xp week like veteran players, but they can get same stuff, gears, weapon, skills than the veteran ones, just simple by playing. And veteran dudes dont care about pop 5 or 8 vita refil, they have so many more than this.
Everyone knows that xping w/o vit is slower then xping with. For that its not needed to be a "Nolifer"
Its just a fact that some that go on with xping during the double xp weekend w/o vit will lvl up faster as you not xping at vit 0.
About ur Quote of my lvl/subs, well i am lvl cap for quite some time. I just dont xp my subs that much. There are a few more noblesse etc. around to farm oly, xp with friends lower lvl, blablabla...
And the xp 1-78 are lol compared to 79+ XP (even more lol if you consider how freaking lvl 79++ was before all the changes)
My gear is way better then yours, so dont start with talking about gear.
(There is still a huge difference btw. 84 gear and 84 GEAR)
Side Question: What lvl are you exactly? Seems not rly smart to get Vesper Noble NOW if you arent in the range for (wonder IF you rly have all that gear ^^)

As i mentioned, most will save em for GoD. We are max lvl, and for my subs, its not hard to get 86/81/81/81 till GoD release without Vit/Nevits for me.

Well Veterans have vit0 then double xp start and they pop a vit pot, why should they if they are on lvl cap?

You are pretty unhappy with the fact that ppl that play longer + paid for the time have more vit items then you that started like 6 months ago and didnt paid before?
Seems fair that we get items for playing istead of ppl that didnt played back then.
My suggestion if your rly that unhappy: Start a game at his Beta, so you can catch all good things. And while you say you are that great... you will be the uber Veteran at this game then.

Actually, UO's vet reward system is the worse I know. You've seen that ankh and now you'd like to place it in your house? See in 6 years if you still have the same needs. You're frustrated now and if you stay 6 years, you won't be interrested in it anymore. And there are rewards with a 10 years requirement. "Hello, this is something you won't be able to get before 10 years, whatever you do, how much time you spend, whatever your implication is. Let's put it right under your nose."

lol, now i m 82 and u have fail, one post before urs, one dude says he has many vit itens and others stuffs, look at the chronos market on forum for my wtt/wts/wtb topic to see if I have gears.
i dont care about the time u play l2, or about the xp rate u had, i just say that veteran plays can use the double xp week better.
