I am so nostaugic today...
Just chatting with my cousin about the time in L2 that the top ppl used to wear B grades and most of server had his C grade on!

Who else miss that time?!
It was like a golden age of this game for me! :D

Just wanned to share this with u! :D

post +1 if u miss that time too!
Siege golems. Multiple siege golems. Those were the days.
Endless memories,necro s3xy2death in avadon robes :P
Xping in SODA
Running from town to town to sell soulshots with profits
LoA Xp Times
Cruma Battles
Sieges with Wyvern before the bug was fixed :D
Battle @ Fotd/Hot Springs
My most fond memory of the old days is Cruma tower XP on the upper level(s), and Dion PvP outside the town.
Uuuhhh, Cruma Tower pvp. Yay that was it.
After that it took some time till i had the some fun again (at FotD)
Varka random/mass/spot pvp was kinda fun also.

I remember swimming to Talking Island and back cos the Port/ship cost was too much.

Crashing the EAD/EWD market together with 3 friends, cos we got the scrolls from buyshop in Giran and sold in Dion.
Also creating tons of alts just to make the 3 one-time EAD Reward Quests, lol.
Selling shots over night at Cruma
The first Drac Bow i ever saw ingame (was omg omg why am i a Gladi and not a Archer to get such a bow too ^^)
So much i could write now....

****, you just got me into the nostalgic feeling too ^^
Nostalgia:
- Having to walk between towns to save on ports
- Using SS only in pvp
- Making a lvl 55 strider to move faster between towns.
- Drooling the first time I saw a SoM..
- Using Homu Acumen +0 until 63, then upgrade to a SoV(expensive as hell) without SA. :)

And any good pvp is good.. as long as the other side doesn't use ranger and alikes.

Oh yeah! thats what i am talking about!!!

happy because u just finished your first avadon set
and later

Screaming of happyness:
"AAHH! I KILLED A GUY WITH FULL DARK CRYSTAL SET!!!"

It was so good!
U were like 10 lvls lower and still feel like u had a chance!

****, you just got me into the nostalgic feeling too ^^

yeah yeah!
L2 is all about good memories for me!
:D
A bunch of us fought our way down to the bridge deep in AoL (before the Mob change) and we party wiped. I lost my recently crafted Blue Wolf robe shoes from the death by Mob, I was frantic trying to get a TH to go back and retrieve them. Yeah, back then everything had value and I was very pleased when the shoes were returned to me.

Oh...
Once i lost a Zubei boots in the end of a PvP near Fields of Massacre, because the last hit was from a MOB!!!!

I´ve got so sad!
God knows how it was hard to get that recipe at TOI!
(yes we used to craft low B!!)

After I crafted a new one I was filled by the feeling of vengeance!
I used to run the shop dorf from dion to giran to buy ores and then back to sell ssd, with NO wind walk... and I made a SE to be able to recharge the shop dorf, her DOB is 9/7/2005 and she's 84 now; and crafting my own manticore boots for my first toon, a tyrant, I was SO proud of myself; also I used to level in the catas without buffs of ANY kind; I made a friend of a rich dorf and she gave me haste1 and ww1 pots to use, and after I made 40 and went to apostate and was buffed haste2 by a prophet for the first time, I thought it was so amazing!

there was huge drama in my ally when someone in my clan cast reflect on an event pumpkin and some glad from another clan in ally regular hit it, died, and dropped his bw helmet, which was picked up by some random lol...
I remember spoiling for AOBA mats for MONTHS and MONTHS with 2 other friends. Between the 3 of use we were able to craft 2 weapons. They stopped playing and guess what? 3 years later, I still have those same 2 top B weapons MUAHAHAHA!!

Another fond memory was me and about 10 other female dwarves were outside Gludio, all of us dancing and doing cute emotes. I HUGE purple orc comes by and starts dancing with us, we start casting spoil on him and suddenly you have 10 little girls all purple, casting spoil in the orc and eachother. We took off weapons and started dancing and punching eachother... -sigh- makes me wish I had screen shots QQ
Gludio full of people... PvP outside gludio... Pan Dryad raids... ;(

ps. Is there any option to open a Replay from old l2 clients? I have still Replays created on 2006... would be nice to see it again. If no lookslike I have to download all l2 clients again :D
The version of the replay and the client have to match, so you need the older clients to watch them.

The easiest way to get the old clients is to buy the Epic collection, which was the C1-C5 clients on it.
Wish upon a star for the developers to make a player for the old files.
I'm going a little farther back... hmmmmmm....

Mass pvp on Talking Island just so you could get some room to xp in the Elven Ruins

Working your tail off to get to lvl 20 and wearing piecemeal armour (a little bit of this and a little bit of that)

The day I was finally able to finish my set of Mithril heavy armour... I still have that in my WH.

50 million for a brig helm, ack!

Inch.
I remember xping outside dragon valley by the bridge. I look over and see a dwarf died to a mob and drop full plate armor. I ran over and asked if he needed a rez (being nice) but no answer. I picked up the armor and still nothing. I continued xping and about an hour later he just disapeared. didn't ask about the armor or anything. I tried to pm him but no answer. this was before I found out about the bot issue. I was so happy before that I was broke. Sold the armor for 5mil lol. I was so happy could finally afford a bbrig helm.
I remember my friends and I saving up to get off Talking Island to take the boat. Then seeing this fabulously full town of shops in Gludin.

I remember all the kind people, the guy who set me up with a Falcion, was an incredible weapon! Taking it outside of DE Village to do a quest getting skins or something for a little pitance of adena, then finally graduating to big bad town of Dion, was amazing.

Which brought me to the scary and deadly trips to other towns even as far as Giran. I don't know if there were soe's in early 2005, I don't think I used them or maybe it was I couldn't afford them.

I remember this guy on Sieghardt who terrorised various areas such as Giran to Oren. He was an archer, perma red. Then my clan leader worked out a deal to spare our lives, if we bought the archer those things from town that he couldn't get being red, like arrows. All the peolpe always organising parties to attack him. He would stay on for 20 minutes or so, then come back to the game after like an hour.

I remember the epic battles at the Caravan Tents at the old port in for AL on Sieghardt. Was just epic battles.

So many other memories, all awesome of the game. It's why I have kept playing even while so many left. Always good memories to be had in this game.
Those were the best times!

- I remember thinking we were "the bomb" being in Nightmare armor, and have a +5 Deadman's staff. Topped out BO jewels, and just getting a Clan Hall in Aden (Mercs on Devianne)

- The first big siege (before C1) at Dion with Dragon
- That AWESOME Halloween Even in Giran (2004)
- Taking Down Antharas - for second time, with BP and P00t (got my SOM that way)
- First time beating Dynasty, and getting Dusk for Seven Seals Tourney
- The huge siege at Innadrill in what - January, 2005?

Man, those were the days.

Looks like a lotta "Old-timers" are coming back with all the events and everything, getting ready GoD.

I hope NCSoft keeps it up and doesn't discourage others from playing.

Threads like this just bring back great memories of the game we really fell for (and still want it to be, only better)!

- Styx
I remember when D grade just needing some Plate Boots to finish my half plate set (craft/drop only at the time) and couldnt afford.

Then whilst going to usual grind spot seeing a huddle of mobs, with a lonesome pair of wud you believe it - Plate Boots sitting in the middle - someone had obviously died and dropped them. Score! I did wait around awhile kept grinding see if anyone come for them but nup.

I also think the funniest thing that could happen to someone back then, was to lose your map and not have any soe's (map was item, and no unstuck command)... if new and didnt know area death was the only alternative to wandering around lost.
So much love back the old times.
This were the times of zero QQ about this and that NOW ^^

Remember pvping as my frist char: Prophet
Selling buffs for few adena to the ppl Seal of Shielen + pvp there.
All the pvp from there to LoA where you could move to it directly with this canyon.

Hell, once a friend of me accidentally hitted a RB and trained this RB to Cemetary so all the ppl there died (He rerolled after that cos soo much hate towards him ^^)
Good thing was, that as i logged i had to buff so many ppl for adena ^^

Running into Cata to train the aggro mobs and root them step by step so my friends could kill them.
(Was Crazy to buff as a PP an BH+Tyr+SH and then root/heal)
Spend a lot of my time sitting to reg mana, lol.

Another thing i rly dont miss: Killing mobs for weeks to get the right Spellbook at Enchanted Valley Oo
Prints

Epic prints! :D
Look what this game was!

So medieval! so cool! :D
That is what i miss the most!
Nowdays most of toons looks like power rangers :P

But back then we could feel the heart of medieval times while we entered in town and heard those epic songs and saw all those ppl in medieval clothes hanging around! :D
I miss the times of Lionna, with GrandMastaBuff and Excellion...During that time we managed to achieve all that seemed to be impossible by that time. The game was still incredibly dificult, and all was misterious and new.

Some videos below from 2004 to 2007 in Lionna :)

I remember enjoing the most this EPIC Dion siege:

Invincible Dion siege part1 (http://youtu.be/buW1387YjTs)

Invincible Dion siege part2 (http://youtu.be/jx_jVNU3Ok4)

Taking Aden castle for the first time:

Slaying Antharas!:

K, you got me, I will be sad the whole week end remembering that :(
We should be sharing memories while drinking till we fall down the chairs!
+1
Old times are always the best :p
In 2006 I was doing the Wolf quest with my 1st toon, who was below lvl 20.
This was my first wolf, and I answered one of the questions incorrectly. I was so
angry with myself I got noob buffs, and in 1 hour ran from Gludin > Gludio > Dion >
Giran and back to Gludin so I could retake the test after talking with the 3 pet
guild members again lol. It was scary because running from Dion to Giran the
Dire wolfs would frequently attack me :D
Most epic day.. I was 23-25 lvl.
Was hunting at Langk Lizardman Dwellings area, ...suddenly after killing trillion's mob ... I had found FULL drop - Falchion
As nuker had no real interest of it ...decide to sell it.
Don't remember price, I sold it very fast (now im sure - too cheap!!!) but ....I became RICH!

I bought beautiful knowledge set (still with non grade weapon!) and decide to conquer world....
Not sure what was mine plan but I died nuked by several Cursed Seers near Dion plains.
Dead was not something strange for me .. but drop mine super uber NEW gloves was real drama.

Ask for help?
Bad idea someone just will steal it...
I just clicked to town and started running to spot.
Aggro mobs, players who were asking to join me.... pure madness and drama!

It took me 10-15 minutes to get nice gloves laying on ground ....
My precious!

All in 1 day :)

Yeah, I remember dropping stuff, too, around C3 times. It always hurts to loose something you invested huge amounts of time in.
I really wish I could have been around for those early chronicles. I started during Gracia Pt2, and the game had already seemed to have changed so much. I really love seeing these old videos and screenshots.
Uh i did some Quest to get the Top No Grade shield and xped in the back of Talking Island. Died on the mob and dropped the shield...
Back to town and then i made the whole running and like only 5sec or so i was too slow and some1 else picked it. Talked with him, but he kept it :(

Saw him soo often in town etc. after that happened and always got bad mood then.
Its so cool to see those pics with most of players wearing D/C grades!

:D

they were so good looking!

This is an amusing thread. The responses from everyone starting at diffrent times in the game.

The first time I made it to Giran I ran. I was level 26 or so and the game had just been live a few days. I didn't have enough adena to teleport and a red archer skeleton almost killed me before I made it in to town.

There was one (ONE) dwarf in town selling crystals by the lux shop. There was no one else, it was empty.

B grade did not exist. No skills over 50. Sieges were somthing off in the future. Cruma Tower was the spot to be. Talking Island was packed.

If you couldn't afford the ship to the continent you could run. When you made it so far through the ocean you could scoll the rest of the way.
Siege golems. Multiple siege golems. Those were the days.

When the Siege Golems were first released, after the doors were down I would use mine to attack people. He would one shot them. In later updates his attack power against other people was reduced. He did minimal damage.

We cast the first golems at Dion on Sieghardt. They were bugged and we got our gems back. It was seval Sieges before we were able to overcome the guards and actually take the doors down. We were clueless about what to do, and we had healers healing the Golem. Later we figured out it was the dwarf you needed to heal.

What was amazing at the first sieges, there was no PVP. It was us against the guards, and they owned us. Everyone was clueless about what the castles life crystals did and the guards just kept spawning. After a while some people did translations and research and we actualy started having some success.

PVP with a siege golem...those were the days.
I played on Devianne and the PvP vs Dragon were pretty epic at times. One of my first encounters here didn't go too well though, pic was probably from mid 2004.

Probably my first PvP experience in the game. Must've been my 2nd or 3rd day playing. Good lord I was so paranoid about reds back then lol. Then the forming of parties to hunt them down. Good times.

This picture just reminded me of something... having to buy your area map (yes area, not world map). It was too funny how a lot of folks would buy lots and lots of these to hold in your inventory in case you went red, got killed and bust open like a pinata.

Inch.
No, it actually was world map, just that one was for aden, and one for elmore, as they were considered different worlds at the time.

OK, semantics, but you get the idea...

wow! this should´ve been epic!

So u r almost one of the first ppl to step into Giran! :D
Isnt that cool?

Pk always had provided us some great moments! :D
I wish they could continue to drop their weapons, jewells and armors!
It was always so exciting to be a pk and have to run to clear karma, or hunt a pk down to try to get his items! :D
Interesting thread...and nice at the same time, especially in a time like this :)

A few of my memorries of this game over the years:

- lvling in C grade till 60+, where a hom++ was viewd with respect
- was delighted at the white avadon sets design, drooling over one...and a beautifull valhalla sword, thought it was the best looking weapon in the game (from my limited viewpoint :P)
- when the party said "we port to ..." i was still in front of the gatekeeper pming a friend of mine to tell me the route to go by...you can imagine that patience was a virtue in this case :P (teleporting and remembering the destinations was sooo hard at first)
- pvping over raids in enchanted valley, and getting lost countless of times in there "no it`s this way, "no this way, "i told you it was this way, "...soe and back again (the greenish atmosphere was so relaxing...wish the devs would make more positive areas ingame)
- shouting "don`t zerk the tank" on raids (if this was done...had to rebuff again and loose precious time regening mana...or in worst case scenarios kill him/ressed :P)
- spending days to get spellbooks
- if someone had orfen and core, you were like "uuu, aaa
- reselling ewc when they were in high demand for a high profit, when a hero friend of mine saw what i was doing, went to the oly manager and exchanged his oly passes, and gave me 100+ ewc to sell...i was like OMG OMG! (we shared the profit...something i like to this day about this game...the market)
- spending a whole day just selling buffs in FG (Forbidden Gateway) (the entrance back then was near the tomb of shilen)... a SE and PP was a fun char to play :)
- leveling a hatchling, when the strider was the hip thing to ride (remember full pty of striders running to the RB location leaving a trail of dust behind)
- farming raids using (on mage) 2 hits, 1 btm (body to mind), pot, 1 hit, 1 btm...and you had to calcuate your mana dosage so that you wouldn`t run out of it by the time it was over...ppl that did this were named "pros (:P)
- the time where u couldn`t find mobs for quests or drops/spoils and you searched on webpages that either are shutdown, or outdated
- spending 3h/quest on the second class quest, and when it was finally over, you felt like you conquered a mountain
- thinking that subclass quest was epic(ly long)
- leveling in DV and later LoA and thinking i`ve almost reached end game (the pvp in those areas bring back the best memorries...you actually used tactics with your skills back then...the pvp lasted longer)

I wish the old areas would stay the same...they are packed full of memorries for most of us...if u stroll through there even today...it really does feel like the title of this thread says..."nostalgic" <sigh>
About buffselling: YES best time cos i was main PP back then ^^

I agree that NC shouldnt re-design so many areas. I extra made an Bishop to xp the undeads all the way at the old DV
