Yesterday I've read throught the translated live patch note from Korean GoD and wanted to know:
What do the community thinks about the PKK System (Player-killer Killer), a.k.a. Lawful Reputation?
EDIT: Here are the patch notes related to this poll.
New system to remove pk status:
Players can no longer lower the their PK count by using the quest "Repent Your Sins".
Players can only lower their PK count by using their Individual Fame at a "Reputation Manager" NPC.
New Reputation System:
"Karma" has been changed to "Reputation".
Players become Chaotic when their Reputation is negative.
Players become Lawful when their Reputation is positive, and their character names turn green.
Decrease in Reputation points:
The reputation points of Chaotic / Normal characters decrease proportionally to their PK count.
Chaotic characters with a PK count of 31 or higher are given an item drop penalty, and augmented weapons are dropped without the augmentation.
When a Lawful character performs a PK, his/her reputation points decrease as following:
PK count of 30 or lower: Reputation becomes 0
PK count of 31 or higher: Reputation points decrease proportionally to the PK count
Increase of Reputation points:
Chaotic characters can increase their Reputation points by gaining XP through hunting. However, the player obtains Reputation points only and XP or SP does not increase.
Chaotic characters do not gain any Reputation points when they are killed.
Reputation does not increase higher than 0 when points are increased by gaining Exp.
To achieve a Reputation higher than 0, players must kill other Chaotic characters to gain a fixed amount of Reputation points.
When killing the same chaotic character, players will receive Reputation points at a certain interval only.

BSOE + Get Salvation + Suicide = 0 karma with 0 exp loss
Carebear much?
It looks like they want to prevent players from randomly killing other players for the pure fun of killing. Why do they want us to think about the negative ramification of beating the ever loving snot out of some lowlife casual player?
yeah am an uber carebear and your really missing the point with regards on how the new war system is going to fail as my comment was in relationship to that and not to grieving in particular..
the new pk system means pking isn't a good alternative to over come the forced 1 week of peace between clans like say X vs SH or Nova vs Bregan/FS...
Read it says if you Kill same red chr it wont let you farm on it. Also for ppl thinking to pk because its 30 you dont drop items you going to have to use 500k fame to remove just 1 pk from your total. It wont be like in the past 1 sin eater -8 pks.
Read it says if you Kill same red chr it wont let you farm on it.
It can be farmed by my clan in exactly the way the TW kills are farmed now. The other clannies will bring their own PK alts.
It would be stupid to do this because you got only 30 pks after this you have to have 500k fame to try reduce it by 1.
Why should I care about the amount of pks on a disposable farmable PK alt?
Besides, 1 PK is enough to farm it forever. It won't be losing karma by dieing.
It's a pvp game not a pk game i thought ?
U wanna pk u got the wrong game and mentality get lost from here then.
Go back to u'r lame counter strike games and alike's.

It said you only get rep at a certain interval if you kill the same toon several times. So Krissa is right, even if it takes more and more kills the toon wont lose its karma so you could practically farm it indeffinitely.

While this kind of exploit is possible, I don't think it is bad to have a forced week of truce.
I've been reading the lore for a while and also considering the medieval taste Lineage have, to have a forced peace could only bring a more hatred war, once the truce ends...
After all I'm thinking that this forced week will bring more of role playing than we have right now...
Also, as in all societies, it's not forbidden to kill, but killing without a fair fight back is still punishable, again more role playing...
As someone said, we are in a PvP game not a Enforced-PvP or Full-PvP game so I guess punishing those who just can't ask for a duel to try out his skill would be at least a normal thing.
Murdering is punishable, yet could be fun (Dunno, never murdered someone actually :)) but still punishable...
At least, that's why I bought forth this question, to see how the community would handle this.

When you are in war,its very random and easy to become red. Many of your wars have their alt buffers in pve clan and use them to rez/rebuff,or mix nonwar toons inside their cc,when you battle you are forced to kill these toons and this too complicated pk system seems to me it will lead in more bsoes destroying the fun of pvp.
What is not written, is the reward (if any) for a player with positive reputation. Given the fact that a single PK will reset the reputation to 0, it would be intresting to know the stakes.
Carebear much?

Boo-Hoo
1. Kill permared alt x1 time (thats all thats needed to get positive rep)
2. Your now green and get 1 free pk but adds +1 to pk count
3. Use 'free pk', dont become red if < 31 pk count (rep goes back to 0, white)
Limiting ppl go silly with the pk is the 30 count thing and need pay fame per pk. The farming part will come into it when you do go silly with pk count, but depends on how the the 'interval' thing works and if level or such is as factor too. Annnnd on if you can actually un-red killing other reds, its 3am but dont think it said about that.
Thats what I gather from this bit of infos anyway, Im sure more to it and particular stuff that could change whole idea. Or something I misread :p
If thats right anyway, probably be easier to pk in god - and larger 'safe zone' count wise, but bigger consequence for abusing / rampage pk. Id assume thats the kinda idea they had in mind anyway.
I really love the new option! I voted to the first option.
If I compare this system to the currently, I can say this is much better. The currently War and PK system boring a bit if we see it long time because no rewards.
I hope in the future this PKK system will evolve to, that will have the "evil" and "lawful" players some extra skills, ability or difference between each other. But i total love the GD system.
Anyway now PK or PvP count? who cares? You will loose same XP if u die.
If it works like that, it's good, brings back the true PVP we used to enjoy before all the carebears joined in,
Looks like full of karma washing in CH and PKing without penalty carebearing get's cut down. Or at least get's some decent price tag added like it's used to be.

Yeah, I'm surely looking forward this. Maybe Chaotic players in this new Chaotic Era should have some new skills and Lawfull Ones too, this would bring a whole new idea to the PvP/PK/PKK thing. Adds more RPG elements to this game!
If only they would remove BSoe, BRez. :(
+1 to this. I see no need to these 2 scroll. They cause more trouble than good.
This new pk systems will reduce ppl just randomly pkng whole grps.
That's exactly what I thought when I first read that patch notes. Sure it will help a lot when you are soloing, not paying too much attention, and a Duelist comes from no where and begin to cast Sonics on your *** ^^
Luxiel...is your main actually only lv 52 or is this old information? If its true then of course you don't see the use in the pk or bsoe/brez's because you haven't reached a point ingame where it takes awhile to level. The purpose I use my pk's for are annoying people ingame, bots leveling in a place i want or when someone who openly pvp's when in a warred clan detags to level I will pk them if I recognize the name. The pvp system how it is now and before even is what motivated me to level as fast as possible so I wouldn't be killed easily and could fight back. The reason I love this game and quit and come back to it is because you can kill anyone anytime and do your penance(sineater) and go back to what you wanted to do in the first place. Changing the pk system to what they plan to rewards the pissant players who mouth off or are just plain disrespectful and puts a very heavy price on the person who shouldn't have to put up with that and pk's the person for it. They've made the game much easier to level since I first started playing and I made it this far without complaint about getting pk'd. I sucked it up and leveled even harder which is what you should do rather than complain about getting killed. If you still don't like that, go play wow
Yes, mate, my higher toon is indeed lvl 52, but I've played privates and know what the scrolls do. Also I wasn't PKed on retail... yet. But still I studied the mechanics and chatted with many people who are here more than years now and I just don't agree with you.
Indeed the scrolls have some good uses but the way clanwar and the pvp/pk system are now just don't synergy very well with them and all other stuff. The PvP focus of this game is cleary Sieges and TW. Controlled PvP with purposes, not just killing by killing, althought it is possible. Bots aren't part of the main game, PKing them is just a patch, not the real cure.
After all, I highly disagreed with you and many will as well as many will agree. I see this game not as a full open PvP, as I said it is not PvP-enforced (like WoW actually IS, since you get Rewards from killing members of the other faction).
I guess this change will be healthly in implementing a way to separate Extremely bad guys (Regular PKs), balanced guys (People who do both PK and PKK), and Lawful guys (Regular PKKs).
This is just my opinion and, afterall, this is a poll thread, none here is to be taken into a 44-pages long agression topic, I'll not try to convince anyone. I think of it as a research.
On a last note: I've not complained about being killed. I just commented it sux (which you agreed to be true, as for what I could understand from your post) and it sux even more when someone just kills you for fun (this happens many more on privates than here). But not complaining, just a comment. :)
However, I do respect what you think. Thank you for joining my research. :D
this combined with the new war system is bad as it forces a truce period between clans that have had perma wars going for years..
That war system + pk system is the win of carebear clans who only war back during sieges. The war system pushes you to do red wars but the pk system is too drastic. So basically : no more wild PvP, war system used on alt clan to farm rewards and PvP reduced to Disneyland battlefields. And as the servers can't handle 300+ players, PvP is reduced to a powerpoint presentation of how to script. Gorgeous Goddess of Destruction.
K i must be reading it wrong because everyone says this is "carebear" when I dont see it like that.
As I read it one can kill 30 people with no penalty at all other then your reputation gets set to 0. And after 30 kills you turn red and need to spend fame to lower the pk count and xp to get the reputation back to 0.
And you dont even drop items untill you have killed 31 people?
As I see it, it will be more easy to pk people not the other way around.

The bold part only applies to Lawfull characters (PKKs, people who have reputation above 0). When your Rep is 0 and you kill someone unflagged, you will still become Red.
Like this:
Lawfull (Green, Rep > 0) toon / Any PK count kills red toon -> Rep Increases
Lawfull (Green, Rep > 0) toon / 30 PK count kills white or green toon -> Rep becomes 0, Toon becomes White.
Lawfull (Green, Rep > 0) toon / 31 PK count kills white or green toon -> Rep becomes less than 0, Toon becomes Red.
Normal (White, Rep = 0) toon / Any PK count kills red toon -> Rep Increases
Normal (White, Rep = 0) toon / Any PK count kills white or green toon -> Rep becomes less than 0, Toon becomes Red.
Chaotic (Red, Rep < 0) toon / Any PK count kills red toon -> Not clear. I'm assuming Rep Increases and may become greater than 0. In that case Toon would become Green once Rep > 0.
Chaotic (Red, Rep < 0) toon / Any PK count kills white or green toon -> Rep decreases further.
At least:
Any toon / Any PK Count kills purple (flagged) toon -> No changes on reputation or PK count, Player remains his/her color and PvP count increases.
(IMO it should decrease more when killing Greens than when killing whites).
How do you reduce your PK count in GoD?
Fame points at the Reputation Manager. Guessing Lawfull players will have a margin for killing quite large, which would become a problem if someone exploits the system to farm Rep and become Lawfull so he/she can kills more.
Change in the Individual Fame needed for reducing PK count by 1.
* Previous: 5,000 points
* New: 500,000 points
Earning 500k fame points in GoD is about the same as earning 50k fame now. That's just for one PK count. So really when you'll reach 30 PK, you'll probably save the fame to buy all the new things requiring fame in GoD.
Well I must admit that I really love the old pking system. Apart from that it's really hard being a prema pker I think that the pk-concept is really good. Players are given the chance to inflict real pain on carebear enemies, or just people/bots who are annoying. Maybe even just slaying a few randoms also. People can chooce to do this at their own risk. Risk of dropping gear or being attacked. I really do not see the big deal with pkers. PKers and PVPers is the same in my world. It's action, it's war, it's what we all like? If you do not like PKs or PVP go play go back to your old single players vs computer players instead.
One other aspect I think people forget about pking is the hate factor. You can actually turn noob players into pro gamers by pking. When you get pk'ed by someone you something happens. You are filled with annoyance and hate. This hate motivates you do play more, to take risks, to want better gear so you can inflict that pain back on the person who killed you. It's water on the mill. It's motivation, it's **** right awesome. But really, if NCSoft keeps nerfing the pking system, making it less attractive to pk I think that you guys are killing a vital part of this game. Though some people would rather live without the pking aspect all together I think you are on the verge of making Lineage II something that I for sure did not sign up for. ALso when you consider the new changes to the War-system I am begining to wonder if NCSoft wants to convert this fine game to PVE only?
I am the proud owner of a prema pker going 800+ bots kills so far and I tell you, being a pker is a hard and ruthless job.
About karma; I liked the old sin eater quest better.
To decide how good will the Goddess of Destruction by a patch notes is a JOKE!
It is same if you want say now which football clubs can participate on the 11/12 European Champions League's main table. And from these clubs after you says who will the winner and which teams will play the best matches.
You must keep in mind, that at the first time with some months before the release the Korean guys thought, that many things won't be so good, they didn't want class merges etc.
And nowadays you all can hear, that the Goddess of Destruction made huge success in Korea (destructor confirmed too) and maybe the upcoming updates will take to L2 much more bigger success.
I remember how many Russian player was confused about GD and Innova told in an interview they need to open new servers because many peoples interesting about it.
Simle just need to wait the GD release after 2-3 months you will feel and understand how work the upgraded/new/changed systems together with the old features.
errrrr... I don't feel hate when I'm PK'ed. I mean, Hate is a extremely strong feeling for me to feel for random people killing me... I do feel a little pushed to get better gear but I do feel that everyday I play when I see that players with draconic or better and awesome cloaks and the scene of me maybe killing Frint, Epic Antharas and so on... But hate, that I don't feel...
Just me after all...
@Profeta
You are right about discussing changes based on patch notes, they are really useless to determinate how well that goes.
But this research I set off with this poll was intended to see how much the community uses / abuses the PK system and if the would welcome a change. If they are open to changes like this in a aspect that almost didn't changed since prelude and if they rely on it...
Also, it was a way to set off a discussion about how needed and wanted a PK control system is and if it is too harsh or too smooth and if it should be harshier or smoothier (don't know if those words exists, but you all got the idea).
Discussing the patch notes by itselves would be like trying to answer "a Iss Enchanter is overpowered?", since we weren't able to play with it yet, along with the new mechanics...
Sidebar: I hope "Jump" won't be able to be used on Combat Stance.
Why do some people get so upset when they are PK'ed? It isn't as big a deal as carebears make of it. For the love of Shilien, just go back to town and start grinding again. Chances are you paid for a month or more and you will be playing (grinding) some more anyway. Not like a PK resets your character to zero or all your stuff goes away.

Walk it off and get back to your grind.
Obvious troll is obvious. Some people lose a 3 hour afternoon grind just from 1 simple PK.
If you would stop watching the XP bar and enjoy all that is around you in this game it wouldn't matter so much, that is all I am trying say. It amazes me when people get so upset from being killed, I for one have died more than ten thousand times over the years. It is not that big a deal to get Killed in this game and people would have more fun if they understood that basic concept.
Just came to my mind the image of a 80+ character that isn't in a clan dying to a PK after spending couple of nights trying to get some %...
A clanless 80+ character? That's a non-sense.
About GoD doing well and interresting people, that's great yeepee. If it interrests players who like to isolate in instances and PvP on a scheduled basis on a precise territory, that's great for them but I'm still worried about my fun. Aion players have Aion, so it's cute to give them L2 GoD, it may work better than the previous L2, but players of the previous L2 may find themselves either without a game or continuing on a dull version of what they liked, sucking the last bits of nostalgia driven experience that remotely reminds them what they liked.
In shorter terms, Aion players would have 2 games, L2 players 0. That may be better for NCsoft, but I'm sorry I don't care if L2 is doing good or bad if it's no longer the game I like.
Hence all the speculations, worrying about that very particular expansion. Because no, it's not an usual expansion. Do you get it, Profeta?

My favorite is the ones that wont take an EE rez, and rather wait for a bishop, or wont take a bishop rez and insist on getting a b-rez.
so you don't go red until you reach 31 pks.
and you can remove pks through reputation manager.
i am not fond of this system.
besides, what was wrong with karma?
and what else does "reputation" get you?
Can't undestand why people are thinking this way...
Please read you way thru the topic before posting, I've already explained that and other did too...
If you are white, you will go red with a single PK, not only the 31, even with a count of 0 will still get red once you kill someone who is not red nor purple...
I would like to add another reason why this pk system is going to fail and this "player appreciation week" / 'no experience loss' is basically going to be a window to what the update is going to do. Say you're leveling somewhere with friends or clan members or even soloing and some jerks come by and start to ks your mobs and being obvious about it and just out to harass you or simply don't care. The punishment is extremely severe to do anything about it if the person doesn't flag back. So this update IMO will reward the *** hole and punish the person just wanting to grind their level w/o being harassed or ks'd by the jerks. I've had this happen several times during this event and have no recourse because pk'ng the intruders solves nothing because they can just tap and come back with no penalty while I'm now red.
It's a pvp game not a pk game i thought ?

i have over 300 pk's count on main at mo, is this reset in GOD, anyone know?
I would like to know that also.
I have like 70pks but many of my friends have over 200. What happens to them, are they gonna be red when GoD comes out, or is pk-count gonna go to 0 ?
I would like to know that also.

The patch notes don't mention it and I've seen no one talking about PK counts being emptied so I guessing it won't happen.
But Destructor or someone else that played on GoD may clarify this better...
Obvious troll is obvious. Some people lose a 3 hour afternoon grind just from 1 simple PK.
What some ppl seem to forget, is that in GoD all healers will have 90% rez opportunity through pomander, so exp loss by pk will be like .05%, hardly an afternoon grind, not to mention 3 hours of it. And also, in 7 pomanders PR will find a place, I am sure.
While free PK with wars or not will happen, that wont be the end of legits as many ppl hope right now and threaten, the tons of brezes from events, the 90% rez, the PR, BSOE (clanhall or not), AS WELL AS the huge drop in online presence (and dont forget AFK ppl dont PK and they will make up again 80% of the population) wont make it practical to grief some particular legit clan or char. Even with hero shouts and rewards about location, even with spies, etc.
It wont work, dont get false hopes, legits are here to stay, only GMs can eliminate them.
M

Humm don't know exactly what you meant, but once awakened, there's a skill that ressurects dead players and it deletes Ressurection, so no matter with you got it by Pomander or if you were a Cardinal...
I guessing Pomander will be usefull to get skills like Prayer, Stigma (IF it manage land on 85+ mobs, then it could be usefull).
I could say Return or Party Return, but there are new skills that delete them as well.
EDIT: News Skills mentioned (links are from google translate from Korean to English):
- Fast Recall (http://bit.ly/nr9HZv): Deletes "Return" and "Party Return".
- Blessed Ressurection (http://bit.ly/rnQRpy): Deletes "Ressurection", has 85% xp return rate and I guess WIT won't affect this rate anymore.
- Critical of Saha (http://bit.ly/owG6CY): Deletes "Clarity" (I thought it wouldn't be deleted but I found the skill that does delete it).

I wasnt talking about skills gained after awakening. I say all healers will get 7 holy pomanders when they do 3rd class and can get 90% rez, not to mention bishop doesnt even need to become cardinal for that. Ppl can logout a bishop/ee/se nearby for rez unless is a very popular place where the bots are exping too, but it is highly unlikely for legits to be there at least in the first months after GoD release and the game wont last much more after.
Due to:
-low online that will make finding legits difficult, even with HV, rewards and spies;
-PR/Return, cheap BREZ/BSOE;
-90% rez from lowbie char (76 or below will be very low when max is 99), without mentioning other issues of a lower importance;
PK will not be made easier in GoD, with or without wars !
You will have to find the griefed chars/clans first (if they dont do some instance), they will have to be without PR/BSOE ready, and if they die will lose 0.05%, some 1-2 mobs at most (if not brezzed with cheap brezes from mobs/events), whether you get red or not after, is almost irelevant due to the other difficulties in the process of griefing.
M
LOLOLOLOLOL. You can tell most of you didn't play this game from the beginning. You know, back when going red even at 1 meant you lost items. You know, back when you COULDN'T lower your pk count. Period. You know those days? Back when finding a hunting spot without 10 other people around you was almost impossible.
PKK system will change nothing, you baddies will still get pked.

What about losing items even without being red... And when in DE town were 50ish GHJGHJGFFHGF named dorfs with bronze armor and fists running around to resupply and one mob had 3 of them spoiling it...
M
Yes, as such everyone will have red alts to kill.
M
That reminds me the bounty system of UO. You would PK someone, he would place a bounty on your head (paying with his own gold coins to a NPC) and you would get killed by a friend who would take your head to the NPC and claim the bounty.

That was never reset before, why would be now ? You can still do quest to remove your count till GoD. You got the Pks before GoD you have time to remove them the same, before GoD, so np there.

Takes a while to remove few hundred pks, but yeah plenty of time to do that still.
Anyway, 'cause PK system changes totally, they should reset PK count too :)
Shillen is basically a honey badger, and we all know how they feel.
That's exactly why she doesn't forgive and forget. You would feel that way if you had given birth to your own father's offspring, having dragons as son-brothers...
Useless fact: There is a Pokemon based on Honey Badgers. It's called Zangoose (doesn't look like one, but his Pokedex entry glues it).

Develop your idea further... How many Pks for one day ban? Why should they be banned if PK is just a way of simulating murderer, like scams are allowed to ressemble their real life counter parts?
lol some of the players today would never have made it 6-7 years ago. I remember reds everywhere in Prelude. PK parties of lvl 20's fighting over mushroom mobs in dark elf forest or in SoDA getting ganked for the skellies.
There needs to be pvp incentive in the game other than electronic egos.

make that 75% of the current player base and not just cause of the pks for good quests/xp spots but also cause xp then was truly brutal but hey blessed are the ignorant.

I just hope and ask for this thread to remain focused on the real topic of the poll and not turn itself into some more derailing and aggressive discussion that would be locked.
About PKs beyond 85, I guess there won't be much of them, since most places are instanced...
Autoban for PKs makes no sense in a open PvP world...
PK are PK neitherless, washtak, and with the new level cap, they might come back to exist, especially with all the awakening skills and stats being all that buffed up when compared to lower toons.
I guess NC Korea thought of that too, that's why they applied this new system, which is the matter of this poll.
Other than that, just a healthy discussion (and one that does not involves QQ about empty servers, cheaters and new players that can't be like old ones) for a change.
On topic, I was wondering how the Cursed Swords would get along with the new system... Anyone has info on that?
They really have deviated from the original appeal of the game's open pvp vibe. If a player chooses to attack and kill somebody that isn't fighting back, there should be legitimate consequences. You shouldn't be able to just take your gear off, get killed and 100% ressed and presto no problem. What would be really fun is a bounty system similar to the war system, where you can pay so much for somebody to be killed only by the player that accepted the bounty. And the hunter is at risk too because the other player can fight back. I dunno, sounds fun to me.
I am very curious as well to see how they handle cursed weapons in GoD.
Add any reward to a PK system and it will be abused.
Luxiel, nobody's gonna risk R-Grade armor, really. There'll only be, like now, the occasional and circumstancial PKs, with the obvious avoidance of the consequences by the CH trick. Nobody will be full red all day long assaulting parties at Hot Springs or Imperial Tomb like before.
And with the new war system, there will be so much karma and PK counts to deal with to maintain our current wars that any increase of the consequences would finish killing PvP.
But you can ask. Go on. We'll all be in the partymatching system, waiting for a cute party, sharing XP and drops with everybody. Joy and happiness. Combat between players will be restricted to arenas and territory wars and siege, once every two weeks. By this wise way the savagery in our hearts will be tame. What a great world.
this system sounds bad , just like the one we have right now , seriously i pked some bot cuz he set up in my spot , and he keeps on coming back so my friend killed it 8 times and got 30k karma .
IT took us literally 18 hours to take off these 30k karma , and as u can imagine ppl came to kill my friend so i killed them , their all carebears when ya flag on them but as soon as theres a red person they all come out of their holes.
someone said pkers play the wrong game ? well how about if someone doesnt flag , he/she deserves to die for being carebear even more just that he/she wont get respect for fighting back .
pvping nowadays without War is true pvp , i always laugh when someone wars another clan over one clannie killing their clannie.
thats pvp for carebears in my opinion .
i been running around last few days flagging on people and guess what , they only flag back and fight if their warred against the clan i am inside xD , they wont flag if its not 1 way war at least lol, a pvp death with no war = .2 , thats barely 10-15 mobs solo in giants cave ? lol
i wish things would get set back to where it started , you lose items upon death , that way carebears would fight to defend their gear or quit game :P

Uh, 18 hours for 30k karma? What level toons?
Just die once to mobs and rez? (mobs, not other player, npc death reduce more karma)

I lol'd because it's the ******* truth. They all come running like supermen in hopes of a boss jewel dropping lol.

we were on lv 50s toons in cemetery , getting killed decreased karma by 30/4% xp lose , 2% with academy circlet, killing mobs decreased it by 9 every kill

yep yep , and guess what , they even came with their lv 85 mains to kill the red lowbies , cuz we kept killing their lowbies on equal lvl .
so we logged our lowbies and flagged/pked their mains with our buffers XD 85 nice equipt EE and Dc > duelists and tanks lol .
most of the time they were just sitting camping the spot wanting cg gear so badly , and ofc they didnt flag back when we atked them with our support
defiently reminded me of good ol times pvp all day long for no reason but fun , now there needs to be wars and oh noes could lose exp qq ...
Die in GoD don't reduce karma anymore, you are forced to kill mob
I know, I have problems soon, 250pk or so atm, I should remove forceattack macros :D
But I was talking about this moment. 18hours for 30k karma sounded too much, 'cause when I die to town guards, it reduces something like 40-45k karma/one salvation. But yeaah, they were on low lvl toons, different story then.
I think this system looks terrible, really really terrible.
I would like it a lot better if they didn't remove sin eater, but since they are forcing you to farm fame to remove 1 pk its going to be stupid.
There have been many times people take over my leveling spot, I flag to fight and they just keep farming. Its absolutely stupid how they're making things.
I like the raised PK amount, but when its going to take you a month to make 50k fame to remove 1 pk.... Well that's dumb.
I also dislike the war system. You shouldn't have a grace period, not with the amount of fame it takes to reduce PK counts. Sure you can have some kind of war going on at all times, but what happens when you have a few clans that are PvPing against one another all the time?
This system in my opinion really discourages PvP. PKing happens, and at times is more than needed. I'm sorry but I'm not going to just allow someone to take my leveling spot for the sake of neutrality and I never will. I'm extremely disappointed.
I know that this patch was a huge success in Korea, and I believe it will be a success here as well. Moving towards an instanced game is boring, I've played those and they suck. This game with these few changes seems to be moving towards how Aion is....
Okay, I might not be understanding the intentions or possible reactions, but it seems okay in theory? The way I see it, if you're going to PK, then your Reputation is a limted, but renewable, resource.
http://www.lineage2.com/en/game/the-library/pvp-activities/reputation.php
The Reputation system is the hand of judgment when it comes to unsanctioned PvP. Your Reputation score varies according to how often you PvP with other characters outside of pre-determined PvP conditions or areas. It is a sliding scale in which positive levels make a character Lawful, and negative levels make a character Chaotic.
Chaotic Characters:
A character is Chaotic when that characters Reputation level is negative.
A Chaotic characters name appears in red.
Every PK a Chaotic character performs gains that character a negative Reputation point.
When hunting and completing quests, Chaotic characters do not gain XP or SP, but they do gain Reputation points. This is the only way Chaotic characters can gain Reputation points. When a character is no longer Chaotic (when that characters Reputation level reaches zero), hunting and completing quests give XP and SP but not Reputation points.
If a Chaotic character dies, that characters Reputation points are not affected.
If a Chaotic character has a PK count of 31 or higher, the character receives an item drop penalty. As part of this penalty, augmented weapons will drop without the augmentation.
When a Chaotic character dies, that character loses more XP than a non-Chaotic character does.
Lawful Characters:
A character is Lawful when that characters Reputation level is positive.
When a Lawful characters Reputation level is above zero, that characters name appears in green.
When a Lawful character kills a Chaotic character, the Lawful characters Reputation level increases by 360 points.
When a Lawful character kills a character who is 10 or more levels below the Lawful character, no Reputation points are gained even if the character killed is Chaotic.
A Lawful character can only receive Reputation points for killing the same Chaotic character once in any 8 hour period.
If a Lawful characters PK count is 30 or lower, that characters Reputation level will become zero if the character PKs again. At zero, a character is neither Lawful nor Chaotic.
If a Lawful characters PK count is 31 or higher, that character will immediately become Chaotic and the characters Reputation points become negative proportionally to PK count.
PK'ing slows down your ability to progress, so letting your reputation get out of control is not ideal.
Getting a very low reputation means you'll be a desirable target longer.
Looks like it messes with your drops too? So that's another setback.
Basically, if I'm understanding this correctly, if you want to progress in the game you'll have to balance PVP with PVE. So, one could see rebuilding reputation as being the "cool down" for PVP'ing outside the approved activities. What are they trying to do with this? I guess maybe make players think a bit more who and why they PK? Also, to maybe penalize the little jerky kids who may show up and just PK every person they meet?
I do like the suggested bounty system. Be interesting if folks came up who were just bounty hunters... maybe have a "Most Wanted" board or something like that?
-A zone for Player Killers with quest or lose when die karma -like it's been hitherto- to remove faster his negative reputation (not killing mobs during hours over and over and avoiding thousands of player who can kill them easily).
-Uninstall L2 GoD when you kill a little kid/carebear/bot-player.
Everyones who's agree with this new system we all know that they're a big troll/botters. If you don't like to be PKed, L2 ain't your game, so GTHO to your: "please, gimme duel in order to kill you, please, I need duel to kill you or I won't can >.< game"
L2 was the best MMO in his gender because of the PVP/PVE and free PK system, if it weren't that much, they just should not implement this nomenclature or other kind of system related to kill anyone w/o restriction.
that was the WORST move the could do ,you can keep it if you want but change the rep system ,i don't even get xp from killing mobs and the rep is going down by 2/mob
