Hi everyone,
As you all know, the Library section if the Lineage II website has been out-of-date for a very long time. You also know that we have been saying 'we're working on it' for a long time, and while this is and always has been a fact, we have not had many results to share with you... until now.
The Items & Equipment (http://www.lineage2.com/Knowledge/item.html) section has been updated! :D
Some notes and highlights:
Every item in-game is listed, broken up into 4 categories: Weapons, Armor, Jewelry, and Misc. (Misc. includes recipes, quest items, consumables, dyes, etc...)
Each of these four categories can be sorted by sub-category, or by name, grade, equipment slot, crystal count (if applicable), item stats (if applicable), weight, or other variables.
Each of these four categories has a word search function at the top.
The Armor Sets tab is a feature that allows you to view what stat bonuses you will get for equipment a full armor set. Even the Korean Powerwiki does not have this feature.
Please note that there are some minor flaws, which we plan to fix as we continue updating and fixing the site in the future. Rest assured that all of the data listed for every item in-game is accurate, reliable, and reflects the current state of our game: High Five part 5. The flaws (known issues) are minor and are mostly cosmetic.
Known issues:
All items that were added to the game in the Freya update and later updates do not have icons. (But the data is correct!) All items with missing icons show a generic "Lineage II" icon.
Most items in the database have no screenshot. (When you click on an item from it's category list, you come to a new page with more info about that item, such as description. There is a large space where a screenshot would go, but it only shows a large Lineage II icon.)
When viewing an item on its own detailed page, using your browser's 'Back' button may not work. Because the database is in javascript, the detailed item pages do not have their own URL. Use the 'Back to [insert category here]' hyperlink at the bottom of the detailed item page.
The Weapons and Armor lists will seem clogged and repetitive, listing every single variation that is possible for a single basic armor piece. For example, there are 8 different 'Dynasty Leather Armor' items. While they seem to be identical on the list, each one has a different description or comes from a different source. There are also many more of that item with extended titles, such as the 'PvP' versions of each.
Items that are craftable have a little book icon in the right column of the list page. When you click on that little book icon, you will see the list of ingredients necessary to craft that item. Most of the items added to the game in Freya and later updates do not have this functionality.
The 'Misc.' section has sub-categories, and some items might be listed in the wrong category. The work-around for this issue is to use the word search function if you're looking for a specific item, as it searches the entire Misc section.
When sorting by grade, S84 will be listed as a lower grade than No-grade. The rest of the grades are in order.
We are targeting the Skills section next, and after that, the rest of the website. We have grand plans for updating, fixing, re-structuring and re-writing the entire Lineage II website, but this intensive albeit overdue project will take a long time. I am eager to share results with you as we achieve them.
Again, I know that you've heard most of those words before and some of you are losing faith about it happening. For that reason, we prefer to not discuss the how's and why's behind the project and the delay, but rather to simply make it happen, as actions speak louder than words. We hope that this action of updating the Items & Equipment database--while a fraction of the website--renews some of the faith that has been lost over the years. You can now definitively see that this project is not abandoned, and that we are in fact working on making a better Lineage II website.
We hope you will enjoy the now functional Items & Equipment database. :)
In addition, we've added Goddess of Destruction wallpapers (http://www.lineage2.com/pds/wp_gd1.html) to the Wallpapers section. We will have more of these, as well as concept art and official screenshots as we approach the launch date. Enjoy!
