Do you guys think that after the release of the God of Destruction is possible to a new server been created?
Looks like they are changing the game to really make it more easy and fun. So there is a high chance of a lot of new players come to lineage 2.
I am just wondering if this could be possible.
thats only possible if l2 EU/NA becomes Free 2 play, ncsoft needs to make a buy shop with random items inside to get players money people will buy it anyway
with this p2p not many new people are going to join.. IF l2 was f2p ncsoft would have to open new servers right now already
there 1000's of players not from RU willin to play lineage 2 but refuse to pay for it so they will go on private servers
I imagine they will introduce a new one if loads of people start playing on the one causing queues! :) But it seems a bit unlikely.

Well It has chance, that we will get new servers too when the GD will release if the game become F2P too when or near the GD release than will come tons of players it is sure, than 100% sure, that will be new servers.
But the NCwest can modify the server limit to example if it is now 6000 they can raise it to 8000 or 10.000.
So if the L2 will P2P than the only question will the success of GD if it will successful long time the rate of the success will open the new servers.
But I think the NCwest will change to L2 earlier or later to F2P if the GD will successful, than that it will be more successful if the maybe the number of player base not really change, than they will make it to F2P with that reason.

You don't have right in the GD will be upgraded the leveling process this will help to new and returner players to go closer to currently end game players, at least with level.
Anyway as I experienced the new players many time search the old servers too, because here already able to get gear easier while in whole new server much harder.
Well yes, Moxie wrote down clean and understandable the situations.
If they would open C5 servers would be same if an Anti Virus company would upload their 3 years old version of their Anti Virus.
But example in Russia, Vietnam or Indonesia where is the Lineage 2 run in licensed form available to open official server with older version of L2 or a modified version of it.
But that comment of Moxie doesn't connect to open a new GD server after the GD release. So if the currently servers are constantly will full or will be very crowded than sure we will get 1-2 new servers, if these wouldn't be enough they will open another servers too.
But the NCwest musn't make same mistake as they did at the AION, that in the first 1-2 weeks were full servers, but after u could see just low populated servers, because at usually many peoples just interesting about a new game or expansion and they leave it after some weeks, so who stay there later they will the player base.
Well available to imagine, that we will have 10 servers again after the GD again and we will can keep them in the upcoming years without problem, but if the game stay P2P currently that is the maximum what I can imagine (honestly to me it would be quite enough:)).
If the game become to F2P than sure, that the player base will much more.
Honestly if with the GD will use good tactics the NCwest it can results a nice and safety life for the Lineage 2.
Just watch the things positive currently millions of peoples play on private servers so all of these available to lure to official Lineage 2 with good ideas and still live in, that world another peoples too who are currently no Lineage 2 players, but in the future they will!

i never saw Nc doing smt to increase server population
also keep in mind that they will lose half of subscriptions in first month of god bcuz most of boxed acc wont be needed anymore

The thing is that yes, making L2 F2P would improve situation drastically(I believe so) however seeing how NCsoft managed their other franchises I doubt they will go F2P. They will simply choose to shut down the servers.
If L2 were to go F2P I would quit. I am not interested in a PVP game where the person with the highest real life money budget wins.
I would also like to see a new server and am confident that with proper advertising and marketing L2 could find enough players to support it at the launch of God.
And Syndella don't forget .. It's not always about who wins .. Who cares about 50 ppl winning in a 5K population of casuals ? There will be competition on all levels again. Symptoms of wining are amplified in dead servers. 50-100 hardcore gamers ruling a 1K server population of not so hardcore is different than trying to rule a 5K server population of casuals. The casuals can have their own game ..
So F2P may not bring any real change winning / loosing but a probable influx of new players will bring some new life, some fresh air
I guess the correct is: "The people with more TIME to play are the best."
As you need thousand of hours to grind your self up, either on XP, money or gear.
But then comes the bots, which can kill you w/o any action of the acc owner...
So, many things are correctly screwed up... I may box 6 accounts, but even with that, if I don't have time to improve that accounts and their toons, real money means nothing...
Yes it is but the money generated by the sell/buy items account are not going to the NCSoft pocket.
Is easy to find websites selling la2 accounts, adenas and items. So using the logic (logic not always work :)) if the players are paying to website for these stuffs they would pay for the game company too.
The NCSoft should think: Oh my god we could be doing much more money.
Of course still we can't know what will happen, but I think the NCwest/NCsoft already think or decided to change the Lineage 2 to F2P.
I think the understand too, that the P2P games simply won't have future (soon the marketing/promotion will useless to them I think).
The Lineage 2 is the game what is a really good MMORPG and it will same good too with the Goddess of Destruction too.
So let's hope we will get soon informations about that too.
F2P= much Player, Money, Fun and New Servers:D
Well, in my opinion the big problem is not P2P or F2P but how hard it to level up and get good gear in the game. There is no real F2P game because the game company need money :) The difference is how to pay. The companies are still learning how to make money not just from subscriptions and I guess a combination of the two methods will be the best solution.
I don't see a problem in a monthly fee to keep the crowd away and the possibility to buy improvements, levels, gear to your char.
Is like the real world. If you have a Ferrari is really easy to get 'hot' girls :) If you are a poor guy you must to offer a good service to get them

Is not about to have them at the same time but if you get one or two every weekend. In the end of a year you have a good chance to meet someone really interesting :)
That way, most of the people will spend money to get ready. Because there are two options:
1 - be a hard core play saving money but wasting time
2 - be a casual player wasting money but saving time.
And maybe all of them could have fun in the same game and the money would go to the game company.

Do they rely on people buying the client? Putting advertisements in the game? Wouldn't it be something to go into Giran and seeing a bulletin board with Coca Cola on it? Ha ha.
I'm not sure how the other F2P make a profit, so this is a serious question.

So, in the end more players would be attracted to the game and most of them would pay for a few services.
This is already happen but is not NCSoft that is offering or receiving for this services.

- The bots and farmers allow the players to buy adena, items and accounts
But like I said. All this money is not going to the NCSoft bank account.
Is better to earn $1 from Millions of players than earn $15 from thousand.
A few games are already doing that (ex. World of Tank) and the time will show us if it is a good idea.
With the subscriptions, each players is limited to pay $15 a month but maybe lots of players would like to spend more to get a nice char early :)
