Byebye! Had to reply especially as your my namesake :)
I have gone through times of 'quitting' over the years too, but even when I thought 100% I'd never return, I did, hehe. Lineage 2 is in the blood you know :)
I think the direction the GMs have gone over the last couple of months have been very positive; more contact with players, gm event, gm buffs often during events, the user discussion thread they did, and the updated the website. Theres probably more but I've forgotten - but what I do remember is that its been a lot better recently than its ever been, and I'm happy things are how they are now.
When it comes to numbers online, I've seen Chronos often on 'Medium' status, which I assume is a lot(?) more than 1k players, and I am hoping to see a healthy influx of people for the GoD update to assist in keeping the game alive for the NA/EU regions.
That said, have fun in whatever you do in the future.
No goodbye post... after 7 years you would think you knew that and broke the rule on purpose.
I hope Blade and Soul will be more interesting then Lineage 2.
Took you 7 years to figure out... hmm. Why do people need to post this stuff? Just leave and don't talk about how you need something better. It kept you paying them for 7 years! They did something right if you gave them $1,260 and thousands of hours of your life. Just emo plug pull and stop bringing this drama to the forums.
Drach makes a good point (as he usually does), but after 7 years - it's hard to say goodbye to something that's "in your blood" as Rosalina said.
I will say the GMs and NCNW has done a lot lately to help improve the game, and GM response. It has made playing the game much more enjoyable.
To me, one of the things that has made the game more "boring" over the last few years (especially that last several months that I have been playing more), is how hard it is to get good gear - meaning S80 to mid-S84 gear. It's very frustrating. I miss being able to craft, and collect most the materials, for that level gear (not top level, but 2-3 levels below that). Just getting the S-Gems and SA Crystals is tough. Were starting to do more raids in our clan - but most of us are between 81-83 level - few 84-85s, so can't dot he top raids.
Crafting, and working for new gear used to be a big part of the enjoyment of the game. As Drach and others have said, there's basically been two parts to L2 - using your time to level (with clan is best), and using your time for items (it is extremely hard for clans to help with this at S80 and low-mid S84 right now, unless ur in a top clan). That last part has mostly been taken away from the game, except for a few, and made it pretty boring.
Looks like NCSoft is going to help with this, but we'll be faced with R-grade - not sure how impossible that will be for most of us.
I will also miss being a StormScreamer - a class-line that I've been for over 7-1/4 years now. You would think as a game evolves, especially L2 which is well known for it's diversity of play, we could keep our individuality (or even increase it) versus "dumbing everything down to WoW". That may be a very negative part of GoD for me,and many others (i'll be 85 by then - not sure if 85/100%, but close). I'm not looking forward to lose that identity as a Dark Elf Storm Screamer after 7 years of play. That will definitely make the game more "boring" (I'm going to miss my War Smith, really miss my SE, and my War Cryer too). Ah well, we'll se how it goes.
Rosalia - maybe in a few months, with some new promotional events - and maybe fixing GoD so getting decent gear is "fun to get", you'll come back. I was force not to be able to play L2 for over a year (was deployed to Iraq - and not to any of those "fancy" air force-type bases where internet was available - we had SIPRNET,and not internet until the last month of the deployment). I thought i wouldn't come back either, but I did. Although, it's very frustrating not being able to get good gear now, i still play. I'd play a lot more if things were more like they used to be for crafting decent gear.

You won't have much problem getting R gears in GOD.. may be not the blessed ones or normal ones.. but you will be able to get something 'useful' easily.. ;)
L2 is a very intersting game, or else ppl wouldnt quit and come back always after try other games. The problem for me in this game was caused by the players that want win all cost using cheat, botting etc. The gap between a normal player and an automatic player is huge. Plus, GMs never did their job well, and continue not doing since third party programs still able doing aotumatic service to the "Top PvPers". If they really want ban these ppl they would be banned already. And if they say they doing the job, pls, make a "Wall of Shame" here with the toons banned so maybe they will get scare to loose their acc. PPl just dont want waste time on the PvP aspect of the game anymore becouse is totaly unfair. Not talking about gear or lvl, but about stuffs that you playing the game in a regular way u will not win anything.
