What will happen to the Giant's Codex in GoD?
Nothing
Nothing
i guess he means, where can buy GC, i hear it cant buy in oly manager.
Non-Awakened characters will be no longer permitted to take part in the Olympiad, so lower level players should stock up on Giant Codices before the update.

As Laby has pointed out, nothing will happen to them. Unless there is a major NCWest-specific frutzl, like with the Territory War Badges, the present Giant Codices will remain unharmed in your Inventory or Warehouse.
In god there is no giant codex for 85+ there is superior giants codex and superior giants codex mastery, as for the previous..useless if u dont use them... and if u do u just get SP and Points to buy giant codex superior for new class...also the new skills enchant rate is SUPER LOW.
Unless they change drop rates in Dragon valley, it might still drop Giant Codex.

Well, I was wondering if I can change my GC for GC higher, given that the skills will be reset enchantaments in God.
GC and FS from oly will drop from mobs in GoD. If you know how to look through the Korean wiki, you will see that they are changing the drop tables of a number of mobs.

Giant's Codices will drop in Dragon Valley and from a great number of other monsters:
http://power.plaync.co.kr/lineage2/%ED%95%98%EA%B1%B0%EC%9D%B8%EC%9D%98+%EB%B9%84%EC% A0%84%EC%84%9C

The first 6 monsters and several further down on the table are living in the Dragon Valley. The problem is, the lowest of them is the lvl 80 Drakos (http://boards.rochand.com/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=28). That does not help a lvl 76 player who just did his 3rd class change and needs to enchant his skills.

I am not sure whether everybody understands this - nothing will happen to the Giants' Codices. Unless you are lvl 85 and Awakened you will still need to enchant your 2nd and 3rd class skills in the old way. Nothing changes there, only that you will be dependent on the mercy of higher-level players to sell you the Codices at a fair price.

And you can not exchange old Giant's Codices for the post-Awakening Carved Codices. You must enchant your 2nd and 3rd class skills with the old Codices, then you will get in the course of the Awakening quest a number of items which you can then exchange for the post-Awakening Codices.
Noone NEEDS to enchant their skills at 76. In fact most ppl should save their sp and only enchant once they are 78 or higher, maybe even at 80. And with increased lvling speeds in GoD, do we really even need to enchant them?

Regardless, if they cant farm them, they can buy them from ppl that can farm them. L2 has an active economy.

Well, I myself aligned my Hammer Crush with my Fire Basalt Battle Hammer as soon as I had finished the 3rd class change quest at lvl 76, enchanting it for +Fire. But that's a matter of personal preference. The later you enchant, the higher the rate of success :)

As far as the need to enchant skills in principle is concerned, that is an absolute must. The graphs that are being copy/pasted back and forth over the internet have no source linked and are probably free-form fantasizing, arrived at by mathematical means and assuming that there is an increase in Giants Essences at every enchantment step from the numbers in this article:
http://gametsg.yatta.com.tw/lineage2/index.php?view=article&articleid=321959&viewboard=1
Nevertheless, it is clear that the higher you have your 2nd and 3rd class skills enchanted, the more Giants Essences, i.e. the more Carved Codices for the enchanting of Awakening skills you will get. If you have to buy them from the Olympiad Manager this will cost you A LOT:

:D
As I expected, the numbers I derived for those charts are slightly off, hence the the disclaimer on the chart header of "estimates". If you use skill enchant numbers from Elmars link and use my charts, you will arrive at 1733 essences and the player stated that he recieved 1740. It may be that my numbers are slightly conservative or that there are break points for higher numbers of essences as you see with the verified 3rd class skill chart.

Either way you will want to enchant your skills as high as you can pre awakening in order to maximize the number essences you will get. For my own personal use, I compared the number of essences from maximum enchanted skills and what I currently would get awakened my SD today. I considered my enchants above average, but discovered I would only get around 400 essences out of 1848 (maximum enchants). That means I will get about 4.8 books per skill that can be enchanted versus 29 books per skill if my current skills were max enchanted. If I had to buy those extra books it comes out to over 26 billion adena.

The charts found at http://www.terragamers.net/wiki/index.php?title=Skill_Changes can at the very least show you approximately how many essences you would get at your current enchant levels. Thank you Elmar for giving me the opportunity to clarify the popular charts.
What was the price dynamics of Giant Codexes on Korean servers pre- and after GoD? Did they jump in price right after GoD went live? Did they drop to their pre-GoD price (or even lower) later?

That's the big question :P
After awakening, will there still be an Adena fee for enchanting skills, or will it just be fame that is needed?
Where can i get/farm those books?
http://l2wiki.com/images/4/4d/Item_30297.jpgSuperior Giant's Codex. A rare item needed for skill enchantment after Awakening.

Before that you awake, make sure to overenchant your skill in onder to get superiors giants codex; that means that you need Lesser Giant's Codex http://l2wiki.com/images/0/0a/Item_6622.jpg you get thoose by finish your 3rd class quest and also mobs in dragon valley (http://l2wiki.com/Lesser_Giant%27s_Codex)

Why overenchant a skill that i will loose?
The reason is because u get more items=more book,
i.e: a +21skill = x27http://l2wiki.com/images/4/4d/Item_30297.jpgSuperior Giant's Codex

here is a list of how many books you will get:

OMG I didnt knew it, what can i do now?
Dont worry u still can awake a dual class!!
hi, where can i get superior giants codex besides:
*Olympiads
*Fortress

is there a mob droping those books, quest.. any ideas?

Enchant skills before you awaken and then get the essences when your skills reset. Otherwise you'll have to buy them from players. NCSoft made them way overpriced to obtain from Oly.
..
i dont know, there must be a place or something i just saw a guy with 35 of them selling at 4kk each and also in auction house.... there must be a place where they take them.

Enchant your skills before awakening, you will get essence of giants in which u can trade for superior giant codexes when awakening.
They drop like candy in Dragon Valley.
Finally i understand where/how to get them, thanks for the information everyone!!

click to know how to get them (http://goo.gl/MW6l7)
They dont drop...AFAIK. Like i said you must enchant ur previous skilsl while in 3rd class to get the best outcome for these books.
Sorry, reading fail... /facepalm
I really need to sleep more.

the items that u get arent the books u get some crystals and after it u exchange them for the books so if u have a +27 skill u dont get 27 SGC
with some skills from +21 to +26 of 2nd class and from +9 to +15 of 3rth class i just get 35 books so im not sure if is good idea waste our time enchanting before 85

I put 11 skills +6 before awakening and got around 22 books, wasnt expensive, and i was a new player.
