first post, and looking to get back into things. was wondering what your opinions were on the 2 classes and how they match up in regards to ease of lvling, pvp, etc. any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
SK is more offensive, and Paladin is a more defensive type of Tank. I wouldn't worry yourself with who is overall better both classes have their ups and downs, just play whatever sounds and looks cooler to you.
SK lot easier than Paladin to XP (because its an offensive tank). Also in PvP, expecially Oly, its more fun to fight with from what I've seen.
But there plus sides to paladin like having more HP and extra defensive capability, and that can help a LOT for very tough RB's if you're into that sort of thing. As far as I'm concerned if you want a tank that can solo well and pvp good go SK; if you want something that can handle the toughest RB's and toughest mobs in full groups, paladin.
it dosnt matter anymore .. in a few weeks there will be only 1 tank, and probably the "best" race for it will be orcish. I feel sorry for you humans and delfs.

there won't be orcish tanks, only orcish looking tanks w/ human stats ;)

if you think you can hit 76+ before GoD comes out play a fast leveling orc like tyrant then use the stone of destiny (u get 1 if your 76+ in GoD) to become an awaken tank at lvl 85 as their base stats + race skills make them the best tank possible.. having said that gear & being skill full at playing a tank also matter hugely aka if you're not skill full having the "best race build & gear" will not help you 1 bit..
if not going to hit 76 before GoD comes out pick out the one you think will be most fun to play.. even in GoD the dark elven one will have slightly better DPS then any of the human ones cause of their high STR but it's offset by them being the "worst" of all tanks with regards in soaking up massive damage.. that also doesn't change in GoD..
btw even though it's the hardest tank to lvl pre awaken do not under estimate a TK as the light elf race stats & skills makes it very versatile, has the highest crit rate of them all + will be the fastest in attack & run speed with only slightly less STR/CON then humans/orcs.
again I want to stress being skill full & having the right gear to support the chosen play style (tanks can go either defense or offensive armor stats wise) is more of a factor then which race you have.. ofc having all of the above will make for a strong char but unless you aim to be one of the best in a top end game pvp clan that really shouldn't matter.
An Orc awakening to a tank will only have Tank Human Skills, anything else will be Orc
upon awakening all tanks will have the same skills, the only differences will be the racial skills & their base stats like STR/CON/DEX
any awaken non tank class that chooses to become a tank will have the pre 85 phoenix knight skills but you will end up loosing almost all those skills as you'll have to trade them in for the new awaken tank skills anywayz so not that relevant..
btw just for ironical example it's possible for a phantom ranger to awaken as tank, he will get dark elf race stats & skills with pre 85 skills of the human tank to use as trade for new skills :P

im a 85 titan and will be awaken as a 85 sigil knight and then i will look like an orc and have stats like an orc and race skills of the orcish and will tank like an sigil knight - or im completly wrong ^^

you'll be an 85 sigil knight that looks like an orc with human stats and orc race skills
Orc tank :X Never imagined that even in my wildest dream :X a ***ing ORC O.O be serious please. They look bad in any armor :X Only orc mages look good in robe armor. The heavy looks really bad :X
