Awaken sub class prereq true or false ?

General Discussion Started Last reply 39 posts
Greetings,

There is so much talk in game about Awakening prerequisites. People are saying that when you reach lvl 85 on your main class you also need to have 1 of your sublclass at lvl 80 to fully qualify for the Awakening process. After reading the korean patch notes post above it'd didn't mention that you need to have a subclass at lvl 80 just your main at lvl 85. People in game are saying you need to also have a subclass at lvl 80, true or false ?.

Can someone clarify this please for the confused people out there. Please only post your results based on fact and not assumptions.

regards.

Chippi
A character has one main class, and 3 subclass currently.

To awaken your main class, your main class should be level 85 (with 0%, 3.14%, 100% it doesn't care) without no more requirements

To awaken one of your sub, your main class should be an awakened class and your sub should be level 80 (once again, the Xp doesn't care).

I hope it does help
It does thanks but i would also like to know, well my main class is lvl 85 and has 3 subs at 76. If i don't take any of them to lvl 80 does that mean I loose my current sub skills in god ? or does it mean I will enter GOD update with sub skills but no subs ?

Cheers

Chippi
All Subclass skills will be reset with the GoD update, because they will change.

If you are 85 with 3 subs at level 76 you will be, after GoD, 85 with your 3 subs, no more subskills on your 85 main but with 9 certificates to learn the new sub skills (1 at Level 65, 1 at Level 70 and one at Level 75, x3 because you have 3 subs)

YAY! Pie Number!

Just completing for you, Laby:

To awake, any class needs to be at level 85 with Third Class Change done. Those are the only requirements.

To awake a Sub-Class, you need to awake your main, in order to take the Dual-Class quest and finish it, lifting the limits of the subclass you want to awake. Then level that subclass w/o limits (now called Dual-Class) up to 85. Then it can awake and level up to 99 as well.

You can only Dual-Class one subclass per toon. So any toon will be able to have 2 "Main" classes, so to speak.

what laby & luxiel says and to add to that please note that you only get 1 stone of destiny which will be used upon awakening your main so when you select your dual class sub later on be sure that's what you want to play til lvl99 as that class is un changeable..
If you are 85 with 3 subs at level 76 you will be, after GoD, 85 with your 3 subs

What will happen if one sub is same GOD class as your main? For example, if my main is SD and my sub is DC both are enchanters.

I'm sure that exist other post with same question but I haven't found it yet.
You can't awaken your DC, but you keep it :)
Thank you, Laby!

Exactly, that DC won't be able to go Dual-Class, but you may keep it.
Also you can change any Sub to any other class for free as a one time deal once the update hits.
I must think that class I want as dual-class. If we can change a sub for free it will be a dificult decision.

Actually, one may change all his 3 subs if they want... but one must cope with the new rule added: No Subclass may be of the same archetype of any of your classes.

I dont know much about GoD so this is very intresting stuff here.

Once you awaken your main class at level 85 you are stuck with that class and cant change it to something else if you dont like what you awakened to?

You can awaken a sub afther you have awakened your main as long as the sub is level 85 then you will have a dual class that you can switch to at any time on the fly?

If you decide to awaken your class to another type of class that awakened class that you choose will be human?

Yepp, once you awake your Stone of Destiny (in case you have it) will be removed, no matter what class you awake to. Once you change to your chosen 4th class, there's no turning back.

Once you awakened your Main class, you must do a quest called "Split Destiny". One of the rewards is lifting the limits of ONE of your subclasses (Subclasses are stuck with a max level 80. In order to do the Awakening Quest, one must be level 85). It's a one-time-per-toon quest, so only one subclass will have limits lift and will be called Dual-Class.

Once you lift the limits of a subclass and took it to level 85, it can do the Awakening Quest (note that you won't have the Stone of Destiny and, thus, your Dual-Class must awake to it's archtype).

In the end, you may have your classes like:
- Main Class, Awaken Class (4th Change), up to level 99.
- Dual Class, Awaken Class (4th Change), up to level 99.
- 2x Sub Class, Normal Class (3rd Change), up to level 80.

Now, you will have buttons on your Character Subscreen, one for each class, either Main, Dual or Sub. Clicking them while not in combat stance will change your class to the one you just clicked. Once you change your class, you won't be able to fight or cast for 15 seconds (Identity Crisis DeBuff). All effects that currently apply are still there (Buffs are lost, weigth limits and inventory max slots are ajusted to your race etc.).

A final note: A Dual Class is kinda like a second Main Class. It will, once Awaken, have the racial skills and stats of your chosen class. The only thing that remains for the Main class is it's physical look. This sentence is wrong. I didn't know that some things about SubClass had changed in GoD. Patch notes are poor in detail and lead me into this wrong conclusion. Read further in this topic for clarification.

Hope it helped. :)

Ok, thx alot Luxiel

One more thing though, will you be able to enchant Racial Skills?

someone else on this forum told me , once awakend no matter what class healer , dagger , wizard , i would always get the stats of an Orc fighter or mystic and Orc race skills , being a Orc

which one is true now , all this different information confuses me shortly :D
Luxiel is wrong, you will get the racial skills & stats from your race, whatever your class
This is taken for Terragamers

Do I get fighter or mystic stats when I use the stone of destiny?
You get the base fighter or mystic stats (strength, dex, con, etc) of the class you are changing into.
If you are a Hierophant and want to became a summoner, you will be given Arcana Lord Skills and you will keep your Human Mystic Stats.
If you are a Titan and want to became a summoner, you will be given Arcana Lord Skills and you will be given the Orc Mystic Stats.
If you are a Sword Muse and want to become a tank, you will be given Paladin skills and you will keep the Elven Fighter stats.
If you are a Shilean Saint and want to become a tank, you will be given Paladin skills and you will be given the Dark Elven Fighter stats.
If you are an Eva Templar and want to become an enchanter, you will be given Hierophant skills, and you will be given Elven Figher stats.

I'm talking about the Dual Class, not the Main one... For me, it doesn't make sense to be a Human with Blade Dancer Subclass if that BD will awake as if it was a PP... This would mean that I may subclass a SpellSinger but if I make it dual, it will be like if I subclassed a Archmage, which sux in case if I wanted to have the Elf Racial skill for casting speed and high WIT...

If that's the case, I'll edit my post, so please let me know...

But I know that what you said it's truth for Main Class awaken to different archtype using the Stone of Destiny...

~Lux

EDIT: So far, I've only found a post on Rochand dating to July saying this same... Has anyone played and confirmed this?

EDIT2: Don't know if my point is clear but, once you are in your SubClass BladeDancer, for example, even if your toon is human, your stats and skills turn into DE ones. My point is awakening a BladeDancer should give you a DE Enchanter, even if your toon was created as Human. Awakening a BladeDancer to become a Human Enchanter, just because it's Dual Class of a Human kills the reason why I made that subclass BladeDancer instead of Prophet.
I didn't get you XD
Subs will have the race stats/skills of the Main's Race.

That's correct.
I didn't get you XD

Ok, I'll tell what I have in mind:

My main is Bishop (soon to be Cardinal). Once I get noble, my first Subclass will be a Blade Dancer.

Correct me if I'm wrong but, when I'll be playing on that subclass, my stats and skill will be the ones of a DE Fighter no? I mean, when I'm on that Blade Dancer SubClass the only thing that differs me from real DE Blade Dancers are my physical looks right? At least that's what I get from Lineage 2 SubClass Official Page (these rules shouldn't have changed so far).

If you select a subclass, level, and first ability value, the skills are changed to the character with a level 40 in the subclass.

Found this to backup what I think, don't know if its truth:

In order to switch back and forth between your main class and your subclass, you have to speak to the class specific Grand Master NPC in each town. Basically it's like having 2 different classes on the same character. The subclass carries all the traits and stats of the original race class it represents.

If that's wrong, I got the whole SubClass idea wrong and thus I shall edit my posts to remove false info.

But if that's right, I expect to make that Blade Dancer my Dual Class. So, when it awakes I expect it to retain it's race and get DE skills with DE Fighter stats, making it a DE Iss Enchanter in a Human body.

It wouldn't make sense to level a Blade Dancer in order to get DE Racial Skills to my Dual Class and end up with a Human Iss Enchanter awakened from a Blade Dancer. This would kill the whole purpose for what I've chosen Blade Dancer as Dual Class instead of a Prophet to become an Iss Enchanter.

Hope my point is clear now... If not, let me know...

~Lux
That's correct.

I thought if a Sword Muse goes Tank they would get the Temple Knight skills and only if say an Orc would go Tank he would get Paladin because there is no Tank class for Orc?

See? Stuff is all confusing... Patch notes need to be more clarifying...
the moment you select a different class then the one of your actual main has aka use the change your destiny stone all other classes will be based on the human version of it with mage - sorc & tank - paladin..

race stays the same as original main and as such same race stats/skills

Ok, I thought that would only apply IF your race didn't have a compatible class to the one you're choosing now.

Thanks for clarifying :)

No, it will be a human bd with human race stats

That's based on the current subclass system which doesn't apply in GoD. In GoD you no longer need to go to any NPC for changing main/subs (imo they forgot to add there that it's based on the Main's race on the GoD notes).

Afraid your awaken sub will be human with human fighter stats, if you don't want that you can try get the bd 80 100% asap and do a main/sub change before GoD is released.. need to be before GoD is out as once that happens no more main/sub service.
Nah I don't want to play BD or even DE as main Class / Race. I love my soon-to-be Cardi and want to play Human Aeore.

But I thougth that I could have a Human Aeore as main and a DE Iss Enchanter as Dual...

So Subclassing a BD to get an Iss Enchanter would have the same final result that Subclassing a Prophet or a Warcryer...

I got it now cleary... and I think it's sad... Just made me change my mind about _all_ my subclasses...

Thank you very much guys, I'm going to edit my posts to remove the false information.

~Lux
No, it will be a human bd with human race stats.

Out of curiosity, does that happens now or just in GoD?

If it happens now, which stats does a Dwarf SubClassed as Prophet have, since Dwarves don't have mystic stats just yet? It takes the Fighter ones?

~Lux
right now it gets the race/class stats of the actual class associated race so in ur example a human mage stats for a pp

in GoD every race has a fixed set of char stats for warrior or mage type so if main is for example an orc warrior it will have fighter orc stats and if the sub is a summoner that will have orc mage stats..

hope this clarifies all now..

Many thanks, yes, all clear now!

Love ya :D

PS: That change should be in the Notes... I'll look again to see if I missed this...

If you are a Hierophant and want to became a summoner, you will be given Arcana Lord Skills and you will keep your Human Mystic Stats.

So following this logic, if I awaken my DC as a healer, does it get sub 85 cardinal skills? ( chain heal)
Or if I awaken my BD as an enchanter, do Iget counter crit in the list with heirophant skills?

You will get Orc Mystic Stats and Cardinal Skills. And the BD would get Dark Elf Fighter Stats + Hierophant Skills yes.
well Andothe failed to mention if the DC/BD are main classes or subs.. if mains then yeah as Syndella says if not it will be w/e the race the main has with human skills..

say main is human cardinal with dc & bd sub then only 1 can be unlocked by dual class and before doing so u'll need to change that subs with "change sub stone" to the class u want to awaken aka cardi etc.

btw both DC/BD are Enchanters.. if these are actual separate mains then no need to change on the BD as that's already an Enchanter class and no it will NOT get human prophet pre 85 skills.. All Enchanters get the Awaken version of CC so it's a moot point imo.

@Sace, these questions keep popping up regardless of how many times ppl explain how it work so maybe it's time to post an official clarification on them at the patch notes ? It's getting tiresome to explain it to ppl who fail to read..
Yeah, I shouldn't post if I am tired. BD is an Enchanter anyway, so yeah it would get it's own skills not Hierophant. The rule with the human skills only applies if you are awakening to classes that wouldn't be the normal awakening route anyway. For example BD -> Tank would yield you Paladin Skills.
They are both mains, and I did some rooting around but was not able to see if chain heal and cc were also awakened skills. I will look again.
Awakened Isss Enchanter has both, it's just called differently and slightly improved..

Iss Enchanter Skills:

new CC is part of the poems and the new chain heal is: http://tinyurl.com/3dxapnp

btw a word of advise check the race stats & skills before deciding which to awaken as what..
enchanter = warrior stats
healer = mage stats
