With this maintenance:
The Double XP & Drops Week (http://www.lineage2.com/archive/2011/08/double_xp_drops_1.html) event ends.
The bug causing disconnection when hitting Enter at the character selection screen has been fixed.
Server software upgrades are being applied; this process requires the estimated maintenance time to be 6 hours.
All characters' vitality will be refilled. A vitality refill will happen with every regular weekly maintenance until the live launch of Goddess of Destruction later this year.

I guess you could say that the Enter key bug fix is an "update" to the game, really. The server software update is not changing anything about the game, but rather about the computers that the game servers run on.

I believe this bug in the login screen by pressing "enter" has a positive side. It is a difficulty for software bot.

Does this imply no more shot-lag (or any other form of server side lag), and no more D/C when you SOE from GC/FoG or TP away from Aden after spending a long time in these spots..?

i guess its very low interest in fixing this at all, cuz almost no reason to farm Tiat for long period already, silly drop (fighters will. icarus weapons, holy cloacks), almost no exp = just wasting time

I NEVER had a shop DC because of some bug (well, except the intentional misuse of a bug some time ago during an event), but there is massive memory leak at some point, this probably causes the lag and DC when you port after being on for a long time, but as shop staying on for 10+ hours up to a day+, I didnt have DC ever.
The game goes from 500 MB usage to 2 GB after a really long time, I suspect it can continue to use more and more memory till it crashes, but wasnt there this far.

@Saze - **** happens when you work. Perhaps drop the re-vit thing as default in the maintenance batch? ;)
I guess there is no such thing as sophisticated batch to maintain servers, otherwise it wouldnt take 4+ hours for the maintanance and they wouldnt do such mistakes.
