Boss jewels

I've been thinking about boss jewels and what will happen to them.

Every time NCSoft changed something in an update, they somehow managed to fix it in a way people who had spent time and effort on things wouldnt get damaged. Or, at least, wouldnt get damaged that bad.

Some quests had their option of rewards increased/changed, stuff that was obtainable through quest only also became drop, areas got revamped, skill got reviewed (like skill share between healers, for example), and also items had their status changed. This is very evident with Zaken, which now has its blessed version.

In my case, it took me long time to earn my jewels (Baium, AntQueen, Zaken and Frintezza), and I did put a lot of effort and hard work on it. I'm honest to say that I only got them finished when game is about to change once more, when some people already had them for so long and are even bored of such jewels.

(Not discussing about Antharas and Valakas, those will have blessed versions and are accessible only to few in game)

My point is, once the max. level is gonna be increased, the higher level people are, lesser are the effects of such jewels. And as it seems, this items wont have their status altered in order to be as usefull as they are now.

Is there like anything that helps me understand why I should be or not worried with my boss jewels? Should we players be selling our jewels and flooding market with "useless" cheap boss jewels while we still can?

I'm worried I invested so much in items that will soon become a bad choice, and if that is really the case I'm going to get rid of them as soon as possible. If you guys dont mind sharing your opinions, I'd like to know if there is any evidence of why we should keep them or why not.

Thanks!
how would we know seeing as we have no idea of the whole scope of all the changes that will happen in GoD ? better ask destructor who plays on Korea what they did with their old epics ?

my guesstimate is that ppl will keep use them until they managed to farm some of the new ones but that can take quite a while and use oe'd regular R grade jewels for the few occasions one really need more mdef..

don't forget your subs can not use R grade (dual class can after awakening but w/e) so the old epics will never be completely useless even in the worst case scenario.

minor detail but 1 month after GoD Go Live a lot of folks will stop farm zaken/frint/tiat etc. for the simple reason of being to high lvl and the raid curse.. have looked at the korean website that lists every L2 server with how many times certain raids has been killed per week/month and it showed me anything below lvl85 has more or less stopped being farmed.
you paid 2 billion for a boss jewel set that cost close to 10 billion 2 years ago, if that doesn't tell you their value (and usefulness) is decreasing as the game progresses then ...
what that tells me is the current market is bad and lot's of old players are quitting aka liquidating their assets to pure adena..

if GoD does deliver and old players as well new players will start play again prices will go back up again with a lot so all in all current & historical market values are only good for guesstimates and nothing else :P
@elwira
Mate the game progress will always be making older items less usefull or with less value. you say about boss jewels but old players have lost even more through the updates (just consider that back then selling top D grade items would make you a good profit).
I understand that you worked hard on yours since i did the same for mine but that is life it always moves forward.
To add, your boss jewels will not become worthless. The Baium will prolly remain better then the ones dropping from the new bosses because of the atk/cast speed, only the Earth Wyrm ring will be better. The rest will still help you level up faster/better then you would without them. The faster you get to max level, the faster you can get your own gear and sell extra gear you get.

What I am wondering though, is will the Blessed version of the Antharas Earring be stackable with the normal version? So will the best epic ring set be: Baium, Trasken, Blessed Valakas, Anty, Blessed Anty?
i don't get what is being said at all..

If boss jewels were to be bumped up.. then excisting gear at the time that those boss jewels arrived.. such as S grade armor and weapons would logically increase in the same manner..

FACT is that things depreciate.. all that hard work wasn't for something you would want to keep all the time.. the hard work was for you to have it at all, and depending... sooner then others perhaps.

Just be happy that the boos jewels have retained quite a bit of value for years now.. where as the stuff that was available at the same time can't even be sold anymore really, people are NPCing that stuff or crushing it.

Blessed jewels are arriving although slowly.. and it's not HARD, it's almost impossible to get due to the chance value which is ungodly irritating (going on 2000+ zaken raids and still never seen a earring..)

They are bound to implement new jewels or something down the road just like any other slowly expanded RPG style game....

We'll have the Antharas which is lvl 76, Blessed antharas which is 84.. and then possibily a Chaotic Antharas which who knows, maybe a lvl 90 jewel.... then a raindbow antharas which maybe a lvl 99 jewel... who knows....
All of those items have added stats that you can't find anywhere else on jewelry. They will never be useless. The price of those items may go down because of the level of the jewelry, but that only means you need to BEAB them a little higher then 4/5. BEAB are already dirt cheap these days. All of your subs will likely use those jewels, as well as any alts you plan on making when GoD hits.
