Craft System
Dwarfs can craft items of R-Grade or higher, regardless of their class.
Level 85+ characters who have completed their fourth class transfer automatically acquire the following skills:
Dwarfs: Create Item Skill Level 11.
All races: Create Common Item Skill Level 10.
All races can craft R-Grade belts, shirts, bracelets and elixirs.
Only Dwarfs can craft R-Grade Soulshots, Spiritshots and Blessed Spiritshots.
Addition of recipes to allow other players to craft R-Grade Soulshots, Spiritshots and Blessed Spiritshots with normal crafting skill. There is a low chance of obtaining recipes from the Adventurers' Guildsmen that appear in certain instanced dungeons by using Seals of Loyalty, Pledge, Sincerity or Spirit.
Not sure it's been discussed yet...
All dwarfs will get Craft Skill level 11 automatically. This means that both spoilers and artisans will get it. As a direct result, spoilers will also be able to craft anything from D to S84 grade as well...
I'm not okay with that. Artisans used to be the ONLY crafters in the game, being able to make some money this way. Now that spoilers will get this ability as well, the economic system might make a change for the worse. Spoilers will be able to get all the materials they want and craft them their selfs too, while we (artisans) are still forced to buy our rare key-mats and recipes from the spoilers.
This would imply that the spoilers (who're already loaded from selling their rare key-mats & recipes in the past) will have the advantage over the artisan and will be able to get even more money, while we (artisans) will be put out of a job because of this.
IMO, only the Maestro dwarfs should automatically gain the Craft Skill 11, or the Craft Skill 11 has to be a different skill from current Craft Skill line, where spoilers will only be able to make R-Grade items and not anything below that.
OR to turn it all the other way around, all dwarfs should also get all the spoil skills upon awakening, leveling out the disadvantage we (artisans) get.
But imo yes, crafting is dead already and doesn't make much money in comparison to playing the market and crafting from other dwarf's craftshops.
And Maestro will awaken in GoD as a real warrior DD while spoiler with all current dagger DDs will awaken as a support spoiling class :D
The way I see it crafting is pretty much dead at R+ grade... At least that's my impression. Except for crafting Shots etc, which everyone can do now.
The way I see it, crafting stopped being Dwarf-only in practice a long time ago. It's not like everyone didn't have a crafter alt, or access to one, already.
The funny thing is, the devs' answer about why they don't improve Dwarves' pve/pvp abilities is because they aimed to improve their economic abilities.
However, they only ended up hurting Dwarves' economic abilities as time went on, and it seems they finally gave up trying to do so in GoD.
At least there might finally be reasons to roll up a Dwarf main in GoD.

I don't see a reason to roll a dwarf (Maestro that is) for GoD...
After a long thought I finally decided to ditch my Maestro (83) and reroll a spoiler. By the looks of it, a spoiler will be a lot better in GoD than a Maestro (see above comments and my today's blog entry (http://www.pagesfromsages.com/?action=showentry&entry=977)).
In short, Maestro's won't gain ANYTHING aside from becoming a warrior, while spoilers gain a whole lot more. They'll be able to spoil, craft and get extended rogue skills. Looking at the difference, Maestro's will most likely become extincted in GoD because of the general 'dwarf-craft' addition. I even dare to make the bet that most (R-grade) crafters in GoD will become dwarf rogues (spoilers).
Only thing I can come up with is that NCSoft once again failed to support the artisans :(

anyone that decides to go the dagger awakend option does spoiling now appparently and unless scav goes that way it cant. so every dwarf will have craft, but any dwarf can choose to have or not have a spoil type skill depending on what the awaken too.

Why would you reroll an 83 Maestro to become a spoiler? Get your Maestro to 85 and you can reroll to anything when awakening. You can reroll to a dagger and essentially become what an artisan would become on his normal path.

I told him all that already, but he enjoys the journey ;)

Perhaps for now I can try to grind my way up, but if you've read my blog, you'll notice it'll be a long grind since The Maestro class is already mostly unwanted for most parties, unless it's to help others AoE their way up. Parties for DV/LoA are rare for me to get, as well as other interesting spots where no AoE is required.
With that, playing Maestro is real boring. - I basically have only 3 skills I can use (2x stun, 1x avarage DD skill). There's no variety at all in gameplay, and no real power in offensive skills (though the golem makes up for it a bit, but it's very expensive to use). So a long and REAL BORING 195% are coming up for me if I really want to hit 85...
Aside from that, read my previous post (I quoted it again here) and imagine GoD being released, and then wonder how many artisans will be rolled (what was my question there). NONE, since the awaken choice as is presented now is only available for current players, not new players in GoD, so Maestro will be a dying class after GoD release for sure :(
I told him all that already, but he enjoys the journey ;)
Crafters gain the ability to do massive damage as a tyr warrior?
No, we will be parody on damage dealers.:)
edit: maestros are good DDs now, but there are not many "top" maestros around. I can onehit scorpions in DV, can do 25k crits on freya, can gain 40mil XP/train etc... :)

1. Maestro can spoil MP pots in DV party if there is no FS. Maestro is a "semi-rare" class.
2. There is at least one pole spot in DV (scorpions). There are pole spots in LoA, but I'm not sure you could do it,

I've spoiled some herbs in DV (low chance though), but most players don't even know it. They think Lv 1 spoil is too low. Heck, I even spoil mobs at Beast farm (had Vesper recipe yesterday there).
Maestro is indeed a 'semi-rare' class. Most players I meet are actually amazed that Maestro is my main char (well, kinda was now...)

Always done the scorpions in party. Perhaps I should look on AoE indeed with a couple of friends. LoA might be too hard for me now. I only have a saint spear (haste 150) now. Think I at least need Icarus there or a S84 pole if I wanna AoE effectively there...

You should look into getting a 300 element pole if you are gonna go into LoA.
Let me quickly rez this topic to ask a lil' question:
Will newly created bounty hunters get craft ability in GoD and progress their crafting skills like a maestro does? Or crafting is a feat gained after awakening?

As said, upon awakening the spoiler will get Craft lvl 11 skill. Means he can craft everything below that as well.
But with the shop changes (lower S in luxery shop), what's the use of having a crafter anyway in GoD? Okay, make Moirai/Vesper/Vorpal, but you can manage with lower S-grade till 85 IMO...

Yes, I am 85 and I got there with A grade ;) For DD I would also suspect that a S grade weapon might get em there, even though it is suboptimal - but who cares really... ;)
Reading through this I've noticed a few people say that crafting is dead at R+ grade. Perhaps I'm missing something here (quite likely) but that leads me to ask: what is the point of spoilers in GoD if crafting is dead? Just to get things like scrolls, etc.? Are there new spoilable items I am not aware of?
Any insight on that would be appreciated, as I'm considering awakening as a dagger/spoiler.
At the time of the original GoD update you used to get mainly Unidentified items when you were crafting R+ Grade, with 60% recipes. These Unidentified items could be obtained easier as instance/quest rewards. But with Harmony (October 10 on the Korean PTS) the chance to get Normal or Blessed items when crafting has been increased, so it will be worth it to try for "Masterwork Craft". This means that there will also be a market for the new R-Grade materials, i.e. Daggers can make some extra money :)

So this brings back the idea that Maestros will be just tiny Tyr Warriors, since the awaken FS will get Craft but the Maestros won't get Spoil-like skill...

All skills before you awakened are removed.......... so do spoilers even learn spoil skills after they awaken?
Then it doesn't even matter if you roll a spoiler dwarf anymore. As long as you play a dagger class, you will become a spoiler.
Hah, both dwarf classes won't be so "dwarfy" anymore.
Welcome to GoD.
Exactly... Rollig any Dagger class will give you a Spoiler after the awakening... Rolling a dwarf as a FS will give you a "Perfect" Crafter, since you will have the Awaken Spoil versions and the Racial skill Dwarf Craft 11.
