Sub class awakening

Ive read this both ways and just want clarification:

When you awaken youre main class, and you choose to unlock your subclass and lvl it.. if youre main class is the same type as youre sub.. ie) titan main, tyrant sub. Will you be able to change youre sub class to a different class? or will u not be able to awaken it?

By unlock, I think you mean making it Dual Class.

Your Dual Class can't be of the same type of your Main. You won't be able to "unlock" classes that have the same type.

Once GoD arrives, everyone will have the chance to change their subclasses for free, w/o needing to lvling them again.

That's because it wouldn't make sense to awake main as Tyr Warrior and have a Dual Class awake to Tyr Warrior.

I'm guessing if you use the stone and Awake your Titan to Feoh Wizard, then you can Dual your Tyrant and Awake it! ;)

You can awaken your main even if you have a sub which WOULD become the same awakened class after being unlocked. But you can only unlock a subclass which will not become the same awakened class as your main. A "problematic" sub which would become the same class as your main can either just stay at lvl 80 forever, or you can use one of the subclass certificates which you will get when GoD goes live and change it to a different class which you then can unlock/awaken.


Example:

stormscreamer main, soultaker sub, adventurer sub, cardinal sub.

You do the awakening quest for the StS and become a wizard. This means that out of your three subs, you can only unlock either the adventurer or the cardinal, because the soultaker also would become a wizard after the awakening quest. So the soultaker has to stay at 80 forever and cannot be chosen as unlocked sub. Or you could use one of the certificates to change the soultaker to for example a SD, then unlock that sub and after lvling to 85 as a SD awaken into an enchanter.
