I'm sure this has been answered elsewhere but I can't find anything on it.
Myself, I'm a new player to the game. I was once subbed a while back but never really had time to get into the game.
But now that darkfall has run its course for me I'm going to make lineage 2 my primary mmo for pvp. However, I'm a bit confused by the new classes in GoD and am thinking they seem counter intuitive to the rest of the game and the way it was designed. How does it work?
There are 30 some-odd classes and once you reach level 85 or whatever they all disappear and turn into eight classes?
I'm currently leveling up dwarf BH; however, after reading I'll eventually turn into a rogue I'm no longer sure that's the class I want to be playing... it seems the uniqueness of all the classes will disappear after this expansion.
hate to say it but the amount of pvp went down drastically in H5, run around ingame and see for yourself.. and I'm tagged SillentHorrors on Naia one of the "top pvp clans" so yeah on that level I know what I'm talking about.. having said that maybe the lower tier/neutral clans have more pvp then us right now, that might always be possible..
Teon Franz and Luna, in their hayday, had 5000+ online each. Naia barely tops 1500 these days of course PVP is down, the map is too big, the instances too many and the population too small. That plus all the Russian radar **** pretty much destroyed the incentive to pvp, after all what's fun in playing Counter Strike with an aimbot chasing you.
to many run around with the mentality of winning at any cost.. think Korean/Japan servers are the only place were you will not find this attitude though..

I don't complain about pvp for my part, on Chronos my clan pvp every day ,mostly against Nova and AmberEyes
on Naia most ppl tend to avoid the real strong groups unless it's pre arranged 9vs9, simple example how often did you guys on purpose pvp'd hitcha's party when they were still on Chronos ?
the strongest X/SH/hell even DH's jagermeister parties can wipe out any none prepared party easily in a gank and we used to just take 1 or 2 groups to fight 5+ at instances like Freya/Frint but ppl got bored of it and started to avoid at all cost nowadays..

Some people would like to just XP without being pestered. I've seen people who couldn't xp in GC 5 mins without being pk'd. Me personally I don't have a peg to stand on lol. I set my SE up for buffing and healing there's no point in even poking the bear with that toon. Plus try to go against a player with epic jewels,gear, and skills all over enchanted,full elements...that's a fail for me and I admit it. It's not a matter of nutting up. Some peeps just want to farm and leave the drama to the drama llamas :p

because the person who answered u most in this topic are the onces who ruin this server to win at all cost even tho he claims they dont (i lol'd)

u pvp with programs join draeke and co some meight be clean in that clan but 99% isnt im not saying draeke is using anything
u wanna pvp like the good old days aviod people like draeke at all cost and ull have tons of fun and tons of pvp if i flag somewhere people will jump on me knownin im most likely not using programs so they actually stand a chance ;)
the programs ruined l2 and made LOADS AND LOADS of good and real skilled people quit right now only scrubs are left on the top and more skilled players(the onces that actually use their brains and hands to pvp) are hidden away in smaller/non factor clans u cant compete with bots

a few simple facts: all end game pvp clans and even those just below that have ppl that cheat, this has been the case since C3.. in the old days GM's ignored it to long thus it got wide spread.. HGMSpam banned alot when he was allowed to clean up but these days the progs used are hard to detect so it requires actual hard work to fight it.. in the end ppl got used to it.. but I do have good hopes GoD will make it harder to be effective that way.
now back to the semi personal attack: anyone who wants to pvp at the end game aspect will come across this there's no denying that but the alternative is going carebear style and not pvp at all.. not much of a choice imo..
guess I'm guilty by association, that's ok as that comes with being part of top end game clans as in the old times when there were only 2 good xp spots we pked all neutrals & put stuff on lock down.. should have seen the qqing going round then :)
some ppl chose to run in the forest with the wolves and howl to the moon, c'est la vie ^
ah and the obvious one but feel free to flag on me as well as I don't use any progs either.. been checked many times by GM's as guess what that also comes of being part of high profile player.. just be ready to die as I do know how to play my class with hands <3
not sure how anyone would know if they are being checked by GMs for PvP Progs o_0
unless you can detect GMs checking you :x
I know I was bot checked once because they moved my char when I fell asleep at the center of garden of eva, to the top of the tower.. somehow being afk, unmoving, and unbuffed for 5hrs was deemed to be bot behavior and I got banned... obviously I got unbanned after I freaked out on them :P
I swear GMs do these 'tests' on innocent people, ban them, +1 to ban count then unban when innocent person petitions... but don't -1 ban count... just to boost their ban count but not lose any customers <_< but they can't ban real cheaters because they won't have the excuse of "I didn't them cheat", and unban them... actually they unban cheaters anyway as mentioned in another post.
well typical checks were/are (haven't been checked recently but that might be cause am quite in active of late) removal of a significant amount of CP & HP to see if one uses progs to stay alive.. another is randomly dc'ing ppl from your party to check if the party is on full auto etc. unequiping weapons to see how you react..
the first is quite common and has happened to me many times on lot's of different locations, once they even did it during TW/Sieges.. needless to say that time pvp improved a ton cause only dumb ppl were using progs when GM's are watching that closely.. to bad that only happened 2x, since then no more..
with the temp ban warning system there's no reason not to watch a siege and just ban like 80% of it afterwards for 7 days just to get the message across but hey that's me, as long as it's done fair aka all clans treated the same.
There's generally more fun for honest players with middle PvP clans. Once you're high enough and have a decent gear, you can have some fun PvP.
You can still go to Dion siege lagfest to receive a few nukes from someone who didn't even know he targeted you, crash at respawn, etc.
You can also try to stun a mystic DE with a DN 85 and +10 skills for 5 minutes and not land one because of the difference of gear.
Or you can focus on clans who have the same problems as you and have some fun.
true but usually only when the bigger clans are bussy beating each other up cause if not bored parties will port around and harass any location they can find with lot's of ppl.. been that way for as long as i played the game so not something limited to current top clans

This thread derailed a lot, but to respond to you, yes; kinda crappy when you think that lots of classes will loose their unique features/skills such as OL, SWS, BD and w/e else is out there, and some people you enjoyed playing with will quit game 'cuz NCSoft happens to change their game in a way they never thinked of. But well all things have to end sooner or later, for some with GoD, for others who knows when. On top of that from 32 heroes only 8 will remain. Drama FTW :D.

i dont cry at all if im flagged and SH pops up i will fight but when u cant use ur main skills cus o hai i has anti backstab script which triggers on any blow its not funny so

thats my point of view hence why i aviod SH / SL / X at all cost when it comes to pvp
give me gm status for 1 week and im sure i can wipe out those 3 clans so badly that we will never see them again at the top
also its not hard to stop those scripts at all just ncsoft with their pathetic rules cant do it if they just allow ncwest to edit skill id's / item id's u screw up the bot already for maybe 2 hours? but do this everyday and people will get lazy of editting scripts constantly and u removed alot of the ******** scripts out there
i dont know how it works i just guess it works based on skill id's etc so if u change 1 number whole bot is totally out of control
id say change CP pots ID to auto ban ID and hf see how many people get banned if u do that
so bot calls for ID 1 to spam and kaboom ;)
and if it doesnt work with ID's the bot calls for something ncsoft can easily download the cheat and turn it inside out to see what its callin for and change that packet/id to ban button
simple fast and effective
the issue with that is that the Koreans don't understand zR and it's them that would need to make those changes be that daily/weekly as NA doesn't have Dev rights..
again imo if it would work they should do it and temp ban everyone for 1 week to let ppl know they can no longer cheat and repent their sins ^^"
my other point was that there's really no point in naming clans as trust me there are way way waayyy more clans then just those 3 that you mention that have such players.. it's easier to just generalize and say all top/mid end game pvp clans.
