We, the players of Lineage 2, are trying to keep people in the game as well as potentially get new players/returning players (back) onto the server. I do not know how this can occur when a great deal of "regulars" are not even logging in for an "event".....
Who gives the "OK" to give out BEWD scrolls as a reward for a 7 YEAR OLD GAME? What the hell are you people thinking? I just do not get it.....
onyx beast transforms have a nice sprint skill which you can transform, use, and untransform for some quick speed boost.
of course, i don't know anyone who would do such a thing.
also useful if you have to run a long distance, like for subs running to do the quests assuming you don't have any summoners to help.
The Events nowadays are designed for the "I want all NOW without real work" playerbase that are mostly to lazy to farm anything.
Destroying the game economy, yeah, but perhaps that is the goal. It lowers the prices in the market and that looks better. Prices like 1b discourage people to play and/or start playing.
Would you rather have a few d grade scrolls (as well as a chance at the destruction scroll) or nothing at all? Any event is better than no event.
I'd prefer to have nothing at all. Someone is wasting time to throw those pityful events.
And Exoh, never use the "better than nothing" argument, it's depressing. Anyone with half the brain capacity of an oyster understands that if someone in the street gives you a rock, no it isn't better than nothing at all. You can say it's nice, what a wonderful person, but no. You won't even convince yourself.

If its a regurgitated event, the coding and everything has been done so I doubt the time waste is anything significant.

Passion. What's surprising about a passionate complain on the disappointement created by the reality not at the height of the promises?
Players love the game, the staff holding it in their hands says there will be a money event. The event doesn't bring money. What happens? Of course the players will shout out their feelings.
Also, you should ask Sace if it doesn't take time to bring such an event. Even if already coded, it's not just a toss while doing something else, it's not just a click while passing by the servers. Even if it requires less testing, it still requires preparation.

this event is on a level slightly better than some since you can either Hunt normally, or do the transforms.
unlike with the white tiger event where to get any reward you needed to hunt tigers.
i personally like the event where you hunt zakens cursed individuals with a heart throwing bow of salvation... those events were always fun to me, although others hated them.
i dislike the badge events, and the pumpkin events... although i liked the eva's inferno event.
i also liked the raid boss event, but that would be hard to pull off these days.
The event rewards could have been a bit more well thought out tbh. I do appreciate how many events they give us now, but stuff like BEWD is pretty useless. Also, the drop rate is terrible for this event, but that I could deal with since you can get them through scrolls.

I came back after a four year break and farming the sack pieces and selling for 28k-55k is allowing me to gear my main properly since the gear I had when I quit (Drac and Demonsplinters) is worthless now. 7 days * 2 scrolls * 100 pieces per scroll * 35k adena per avg = 49 mil
So if the goal is to allow players coming back to catch up on adena/gear by farming some event items.... it works perfectly.

I didn't take a break,but I sure made profits from selling the TSPs. Four accounts yeah that made my bank. If you didn't do it then don't sit and cry saying it wasn't a money event. It was if you sold the TSPs. You didn't make money by turning them in, you took a chance at making money. In the end I've taught myself to sell the parts and shop around for what I want.
The point I was trying to make is about real "interest" in participating in an "event".....as usual, if you have 4 accounts, play 20 hrs a day, you will benefit from this event, and regular adena for that matter, a great deal more than someone who plays the game casually....
However, this event resulted in serious low usage servers, and many saying they had no care to "hunt a little extra" because of the rewards to time playing ratio...
o I can but at such prices it's not worth it for me as I need like 8 of them before it actually factors in my DPS and for that much adena I can get much better stuff in GOD..

This is not a game for the casual player, never has been and I hope it never will be. Why is this concept so hard to understand, if a company wants you to pay them every month to use their service it is not the casual player they are looking to attract. Sure, a few casual players will join up with the misconception they can handle the required commitment. Sadly, they will spend most of the time complaining about how hard it is for the casual guy to keep up with real life consuming all their free time.
Casual players needs are best suited in games where everyone gets the same stuff and you pop on for a few minutes and run around a map shooting each other and then log off and go to bed for a few hours before work starts at the factory. Games you don’t need to plan out goals, resources, manpower, equipment or time. Casual players need casual games not MMOs.
So if any event is not to your liking use free will and don’t participate, just log off and play minesweeper(<= perfect game for casual players).

Since our servers have expirienced all kind of attitudes from Nswest(leading them to extermination)adapting/re-sizeing the events to our reality wouldnt hurt-increase event items/rewards.
Actually, as a casual player, I could say that Dracha is correct in most points he made there.
Still I don't complain because I know why I took 4 months to ding 76 when most players do it in 3 weeks or so, that's not a problem for me. I don't go on competing with every player on the server, I play for the fun and fun is what I'm getting when I have time to log in and socialize with my clannies and some other friends I've made there.
I didn't profit much on this event and still I didn't cared to sell the TSP, as i took my chances with them. And I really don't care much if what I did was good or bad, as I had fun anyway, since I didn't play on the treasure hunt back in Feb.
So I guess that's all about point of view and people that can't see this game by any others eyes... Most people just complain but keep on paying.
You see, when you don't like what you are doing, you just don't do it. I'm changing jobs soon because I don't like what I do here now and I'm completely fine with that.
Just like Ykara that, along with personal issues, didn't like what is happening now and is going to stop. His decision, w/o QQ over and over, like that would make things happen...

@Dracha explain why the Koreans are better in fun events then we do ? It's both L2, just different regions so that point doesn't hold any ground now does it ?

As I have stated in some way or another... if you are on the forums posting you are not a casual player. The percentage of players that interact with lineage 2 via the forums is normally less than 20%, those that actively post there concerns and reply is less than 3%. Nationally, 5% of fans will participate actively with a fan site forum. On a plus side, after so many years we have players that are strongly opposed to the beliefs and opinions of other players enough to take the time to post their opinions.
Korea has atm 31 servers running, they're merging a few with very low population to make them more competitive when cross server stuff will be introduced but even so their total amount of servers stays above 20 so erm hi ^^?

Anyway, I got maybe 35 mil from selling TSP; opened 17 sacks and got a few mil worth of rewards (since transformation scrolls have zero value). This equals to just 1 day of adena farming during a double xp/drops event. To me, a "double drops" event is the one and only kind of reliable "money events".
I am using the same math equations incorporated into the L2 code by the NCSoft development team. Actually, I have included the link I was reading when I made the post about server reduction. I know my Korean is not very good and I could have really misunderstood what is going on or where they are talking about. Anyway I am over this now and my therapist says I should leave this thread in my past if I ever plan on healing emotionally.
that was kind of what I was talking about, check the bottom section where they mention server transfers availability, the 2nd box has all the other servers listed.. so basically all the lowest population servers got merged into 2 so they could compete with the rest :)
