Where are the stories at?

I just spent a couple hours reading through old threads on this forum. Slow night at work.
I noticed that players use to come here with stories to tell. I read amazing tales from new players at the time that were killed by a red. They were furious! Then a veteran players of the times would come in and tell about the first time they were pk'd and how they worked hard to level up to one day kill that red that killed them.

I read about random raid parties. You know back when you would kill a low level raid and it would explode! I remember killing a raid around level 30 and when we killed it it dropped 20-30 ewd's. Those things sols for around 500k back then. We were all rich!

And then you would read stories about raids gone horribly wrong. People dying and dropping gear and random people running by to grab the dropped gear and dissapearing forever with it.

I read about clan wars starting when a clannie dropped a pair of C grade gloves and it was picked up by a member of another clan.

In the game I remember hundreds of players standing at town gates just waiting for the other clan to make its move. It was intense! Everyone just watching and waiting for the first person to flag and the gloves were off! Dead people everywhere.

My typical day in L2 is...Log in. Look for a group. Spend a couple hours in almost silence mindlessly killing mobs. Thank my party for the xp and come back the next day for more.

So reading through these old threads I was obviously taken back to a time when this game had a feel of adventure. You never knew what would happen everytime you logged in. Every day was a fight for your life against other players.

Now I see heroes organizing 9 vs. 9 pvp. No one bothers with normal raids. Not much point anymore.

Now...Just the same thing every day. Soooo....Does anyone still do anything fun in this game? Tell me some interesting stories if you have some!
Fair enough. I hope the new update will bring that sense of adventure back then.
First of all i would give u a "like this" to ur first post here.
Ye L2 changed a lot. Lot of the old fun got lost. Much of the grind/spoil farm for mats/farm hours or days for spellbooks at EV etc. ... gone...

This times we were so happy that we achieved this hard tasks.

Doing lvl 20 raids with 3 full parties of ppl lvl 16++ all in No Grade etc.
Great times.
(Killing the chinese farmers and take their dropped armor/weapon)
OMG the endless insane HUGE Cruma pvp's, Siege with 200 vs 200 or more. (Was insane to watch when u saw a OL buffing 200 ppl at once )

Tbh most of these fun is gone nowadays. Maybe some "wow, gf moments" after killing Tezza/Freya the first time, but then...

LF Naia Server Wipe incl. L2 Chronicle1 restart with thousands of ppl at lvl 1 to get that back.

Thanks! But my first post was back in 06. :)
I recently started on Cadmus to playtest Goddess of Destruction. The game is totally in Russian and I cannot communicate with anyone, I noticed that the Russian community on Cadmus is way more friendly then the community I met on my early days on Franz. I don't speak Russian but still I have been in plenty of parties and random raids, just by passing people with my dwarf.

The fact that NCSoft has been delaying patches on our servers for 2 years now, while Innova and NCKorea are already on newest patch, just makes alot of the current Naia/Chronos players town warriors, waiting for clan or constant party event to start. Because sadly, that's the only thing you can do, farm a bit and hope the new update comes as soon as possible. All decent clans on Naia have at least 65% of their people on lv85.100%. People leveling their subs to 80.100% for dual-class in GoD. I even met people with 85.100 80.100 80.100 80.100 thanks to all exp events we had to keep us silent. And if NCSoft wouldn't have crushed my mood to play months ago with all bad info and delays, my char would've been like that aswell.

Lineage II has changed way to much since Kamael update. While the only real good update that we got, isn't live on our server yet. I really have to say, Goddess of Destruction, even only the low level content, is the greatest update to the game since C5. And should've come years earlier.
Yeah. Its strange to see so many players with nothing to do. Use to be quite the opposite ya know. The grind seemed impossible. Now anyone can make it.

Im only 82 with a low level sub so I have a bit to do still. But it wont be long until a very casual player like myself has nothing to do. Would have been 85 a couple months ago but my pc died and needed time to build a new one.

This game was much better when it was harder huh? Drop on death. No common items. When they added stuff like that it really made it to easy.

I know there was a time when people would come to this forum complaining about how difficult this game was. Alot of players probably quit over it. Something as simple as dropping a helmet caused people to cancel accounts. They did work for months to get it.
Now....Now its just to **** easy. I miss when this game was "hardcore".
The game is still hardcore. People just play it the wrong way. I know so many people that only exp until they reach vit 2 and then log off or switch char. Lineage II is still 90% about farming. Yes I'm 85.100 but I still farm i.e. elemental stones. First so I didn't need to buy them, now to have them in case of GoD. With the vitality system everybody started grinding for level, not for gear.

I remember the old days, farming light blue mobs for quest items so you could make more money then grinding on white mobs. Now, nobody has that spirit anymore. Either because they are 85.100 with multiply +30/+15 skills, full rare +6 armor sets and weapons with the craziest OE's. The people that still got that spirit farm and get rich, who don't are lv82 and struggle to procede with their low-S gear and A-grade jewels. Begging for GC parties because they take 0 efffort.
