Ok i admit, i like free stuff like the next person. But is just seems to me that all this current promotion did was to get a large influx of new or continued money for NCSOFT. I like many others reactivated my account under the promotion and paid for 3 more months + 1 free month just to find out today that it meant nothing since the update will transform all of us to free to play. Sure we get some kind of coin equal to the value of the time unused on out accounts ( ummm..the time we just bought!! ) but that just rubbs me the wrong way. I do feel swindled into giving them more money when it was apparently not necessary.
How far off base am I? Or does anyone else feel like i do about this?
And yes i will continue to play and see how well this works but that does not change how i feel at the moment.
I don't feel cheated, hell I have enjoyed every minute I have played and would rather continue to pay them for access to this virtual world. But so many others feel f2p will allow more to play and increase the positive experience. If this is how it has to be to get new players on the servers, so be it.

Yeah i did make a choice like you said. If you notice, i did say that i would continue to play. If given the choice sure i may have purchased a new weapon from them, maybe not. I didn't come on here cursing at them. I just stated my opinion that it seemed to me a little underhanded way to go about it. And just so you know, i do like my weapon and some of the perks that are being handed out and don't plan to quit any time soon. Assuming ncwest doesnt do some fuzzy math when they recalculate time = ncoin, You just potentially got 60 dollars worth of magical nccoins for 45 dollars. Personally, I wish I had done that 4 month sub now that we finally know whats going to happen. In the context of a cash shop economy, you just made out like a bandit. If they decide not to credit players for time paid in November... well then you didn't really get that great of a deal, but it's technically not a loss.
Let's see if cash shop prices reflect monthly payments. If you can buy a months worth of double exp/sp/drops/whatever for 15, then they have given us a fair shake with our leftover time. If not, shame on them.
Another way to think of it is this: According to some ingame spam, gold sellers sell 15 million for 30 dollars, and you got 45 million for 15 as far as the loyalty subscription goes.

Realistically speaking, the only way you can argue that ncsoft cheated you is if they have some "grand opening" cash shop sale where they reward bonus amounts of nccoins that is a bigger discount than what the loyalty subscription provided for the same cost. So we will have to wait and see. You paid for 3 months, lineage is going to be up in 3 months, you got what you paid for plus more.

a lot of us feel cheated for a number of things; this recent "sign up for more time and then we go F2p" is just the most recent.
case in point, i paid for 3 character transfers from devianne server to Lionna. we merged.
then again i had more characters transferred to Aria; merged.
so much of the things we've stood for over the years to get coveted character transfers - and they are made meaningless. it took 5 years to get it. and now we're stuck playing with people we wanted to get away from, for our several reasons.
at least now they will not be able to stab us in the wallet. well, not hard anyhow.

You're surprised by this action? I warned for this and I was 'negative and unrealistic' to most US players. Just look (again) at the Lineage2.eu site (Innova's) and compare that to the old 'Pay-your-way' GoD promotion and combine the info.
Like I said before, GoD goes life in EU half December and NCWest will do the same, both going F2P. You've paid till half February and thus 3 months extra which will now be compensated by NC-coins which you most likely won't use.
Yes, NCWest did a neat trick there to get some 'last resort' money from subscriptions cheating their customers into this 'promotion'...
I am more concerned for the EU players who fell for this 'deal' though...

And I did it with 3+1 because it is cheaper.
When I could afford I used 3 months renew so far.

All I did was change it to a one month auto renew. I got all my items then changed it back to one month at a time. If you intended to keep playing one month auto renew wasn't a big deal or even a time card because Nov isn't free and December won't be for most people either. I've been here since open beta and right now this whole free to play feels like a kick in the rear. Like "Hey thanks for paying for 7 and half years we're going free now!"
Anyways this F2P is going to open a door to a whole new set of evils. The influx of newbies will be in mass. I'm a wait and see person,but I have some ideas of what might happen here.

well since you only needed to pick the 1 month plan and not 3+1 to get the reward i think its your own fualt. anyone who is paying anything but 1 month at a time when they dont know what is happening w/ the game is kinda silly. you save a dollar but have to spend a extra 30 to do it.

As i have stated before, I signed up under the 3+1 plan because i intended to keep playing. Wasn't trying to save a dollar per say, I figured i might as well go ahead and renew my plan during the promotion and get a weapon to boot. I did not realize that the game was going FTP for everyone as i thought it was for something like the test server or possibly for an alter option to play the game.
Yeah, in that respect it "is" my fault for falling for this new plan structure. I didn't loose any bean money or hock my socks for the money. All i was doing was stating that it seemed a might shady the way the plan/offer was presented knowing full well the service was about to be free. ( Timing for the offer was the issue ). But hey, that was just my opinion.
The idea of my original post was to gather other ppls thoughts on the subject. Ha! That seemed to work. Still playing. No drawers in a wad. Didn't twist one off for the $30$40(whatever $). Geeze ppl lighten up. Its all just food for thought.

I don't feel cheated even though I resubbed knowing that this game was going F2P very soon. I only paid it in 1 month though. I don't mind putting out 15 bucks really.
I feel cheated.... for weeks I have been trying to get that illustrious Warriors Helmets by keeping several characters on line for 30 plus hours. But the server keeps crashing when I'm sleeping... so my spread sheet is inaccurate every week. I FEEL CHEATED AND I'm NOT GOING TO TAKE IT ANYMORE! Okay, I feel much better now... thanks for this use of this thread.
On a side note, my kid is not keeping track of his hours and he got a stupid Warriors Helmet. No justice in this virtual world
personally i believe the subscription plans overlap w/ NC Coins are a attempt to get ppl interested in the coins and willing to pay more for them in the future.
all those of you who plan on never buying anything after L2 goes f2p i hope you expect lineage2 NA to close the doors in a very short amount of time... if nobody is paying there is no reason for the company to keep providing service.
as long as i like the "new" lineage my plan is to continue spending my current subscription $ on NC Coin until i feel im done w/ the game.
everyone over the years has said "x, y, or z is killing the game" really what will kill the game is ppl unwilling to pay for thier entertainment.

I expected something because the rewards and events where just too many. You can tell me aah dynasty is worth nothing, but they never ever gave away any full drop as far as I know. So it was a bit suspicious. That been said, its ok, we get stuff and coins. They could have told me though that I am actually buying NC Coins.

Ah, that's how it is now. Back then, when people complained about how they didn't receive their Dynasty Weapon Box, you told everyone they didn't sign up for the dynasty weapon and that it was just a gift for a resub of at least 30 days. It seems you changed your mind (again).
