Olympiad is turned off. Account services are turned off. You have pretty much implied that goddess is coming in November, so what are you waiting for? Do you think the news will be more exciting if you hold off for a few more days/weeks or something for announcing pts/live dates? Please, take this burden off our minds :)

Moral of the story: NCWest will tell us when they want.
fixed for ya bro
Remember that the details about subscriptions past the release of F2P GoD turning into NC Coins were revealed the last day of the subscription offers. It's never been a story of being ready or papers not yet finalized.
Moral of the story: NCWest will tell us when they are ready.
When they are ready? That is a bit naive, and disregards common sense. I know they know, how could they not? I just thought it was odd that they would turn off account services and olympiad but then wait til friday or later to release more information. Upper management most likely wants to hold off the date as long as possible to squeeze every last ounce of subscription out. Even if they do compensate us with nccoin for time not used, there will always be people who do pay monthly subs but would never use the cash shop. I'm trying to be nice about this but it just seems dishonest, which is business as usual. I don't really see the point of ncsoft going through 10+ community managers over the years while still maintaining the same uppermanagement that hands down the exact same marching orders that got the previous cm so much hate/flack.

Would you rather have a repeat of the "October 5th" announcement?

So don't renew .. if you think they are taking advantage of you. Or just go buy $7 15 day timecards. But they will announce when they are 100% sure of the date, cause if they announce <insert date> then they have to delay it for say a week you will have a meltdown irrespective of the fact you want them to announce as early as possible
Would you rather have a repeat of the "October 5th" announcement?
If I mess up once, does that mean I should never try again? They should give us a date, and stick to it. If they pull another October 5th, it is they who will suffer the consequences, right?
I want them to be honest and on time. It's a very reasonable demand and not hard to accomplish on their part. Am I right or wrong?

Why the passive aggressiveness and implication of things I never implied? I am enjoying lineage. I just would like to know information they clearly know and feel they should tell us. Do you prefer to stay in the dark until the last minute or something? Do you like being led around by the nose for no apparent reason? We have all this stuff going on that implies a November release, stuff they would never do unless they were sure they would be launching in November, and you think that them telling us goddess is launching in the last week of nov is too early? Because there is no reason to turn off account services or olympiad if that isn't what's going to happen. Going from past experiences, it would appear their plan is test either this friday or next week, then test for 2 weeks, leaving godess ready for nov 23 or 30th. Soooo why not just say so? If they can't make those dates, with test up, that's fine and they could tell us why (that is to say, bug found on test, working hard, blah blah blah).
You seem to misunderstand why people were upset on the 5th. They told us to come here 2 weeks in advanced, and then canceled at the last minute and NEVER GAVE US A REASON WHY. That wasn't just a "failure" on their part. That was down right mean! That's why people were angry. That would not be the same scenario as a delayed goddess launch due to player verifiable test server errors or whatever the case may be.

You are right, but the part "it is they who will suffer the consequences" is what is keeping them from announcing anything before they are solid or the community has taken an step into something they want.
They knew they would announce F2P in the moment the loyal subs promo has ended. They milked some USD to be prepared for the huge cost they will have in the first months of F2P. It wasn't to make us suffer, but it wasn't to make us happy, it was only business...
After all more than half the Dyn weapons got crystalized for what I've seen...

Passive aggressiveness? Perhaps you need to look the term up?
And I have 0 interest in finding out a date until that date is set in stone and definite. My accounts are inactive after almost 2 years of being maxed out in terms of levels, I don't care if they tell me today, tomorrow next week or 2 days before GoD actually goes live. And nobody really should care, it's not like you have to make some magic preparations for GoD. Whenever the client is available you 'll download it and wait for the maintenance to be over. By the fact Oly is disabled you have a rough timeframe, end of November/beginning of December. Beyond that who cares about the exact date.
Let me put it this way: they sent out emails to current and past customers about lineage going f2p. They've put out press releases and done interviews. Lots of explayers got them, lots of new players have seen them. I've talked to some of these people. They all seemed really interested in coming back or starting new, but they couldn't find the release date. When I told them "lolsoon", they basically said "**** it, if ncsoft cant get it together after 7 years, why should I bother", and frankly there is nothing I could say. Because they are right. Ncsoft needs to release that date asap. Not for us, but for themselves. They are wasting their effort advertising goddess when the one thing everyone wants to know is the DATE. That is the most important aspect of goddess at this point, to new, current, and returning customers.
Ncsoft needs to stop sacrificing the long term for some extremely shortterm strategy of maybe getting 1 more month sub out of their customers. We need that date, we need it now, and of course it would be in their best interest to successfully meet that date.

Please for the love of god name one....one gaming company that doesnt use Soon??? Please name one game company that wont release a date or time frame unless they know 100% it can be made if it can not then they normally use to the term " we are shooting for this time window" or something along those lines. So ya please go be a debbie downer some where else since you think and assume NcSoft a gaming company/publisher is the only company that uses coming soon.
Here ill list some MMO company's that uses the "SOON". Blizzard, RIOT, who ever makes HoN, PW (the company not game), Gpotato, Nexus.... now game company's Capcom, Nintendo, Microsoft, EA, Sony/SoE. So ya the list can go on about all these gaming company's that do the EXACT same thing as NcSoft. Since you are assuming they trying to get 1 more sub out of people so i guess tin foil hat time???? Oh one last thing you do know they can released all that and then say oh btw L2 will go F2P 2/2012 but still released all the information last month and another thing for the longest DCU was announced to be F2P but they didnt release the date for some time just like AoC

Someone sounds very angry, and very irrational. Also they sound like they are pulling stuff out of thin air and/or lying just to make a point.
By the way, the last game I played was prius. It is a gpotato game. You claim they use "SOON"? That's a LIE. They put up a count down timer a month before each major update that game has received, and they also put up a 3 month "dev plan", which was constantly updated with new details. I expect that a multinational mmorpg provider that has been in the business for 10+ years to do a little better than a 5 man team in a cookie-cutter copy&paste f2p company. Most of the player base feels this way, and have displayed their feelings by leaving and never coming back. Even when ncsoft tries to entice them back with FREE, they toss up their hands and go "lolno" because ncsoft still has failed to be clear and concise and provide us with a release date. Hell, we don't even need that. Give us the test server. Why don't we have that date yet? It's not ready? They've had since April.
You can pretend I'm a baseless conspiracy nut making up ********, but the fact is ncsoft has never given us more than a weeks notice for almost any update or event. Most announcements come at the end of the month, or the end of the week. Or the end of the week at the end of a month as a double wammy. They are on record in their public quarterly reports available on the plaync website as stating that this is part of their marketing strategy and intentionally hook people in this manner to draw out one more subscription. I'm not making things up for your amusement.

Sorry you are the one that made a QQ post lol so i think your the one thats mad, Also oh ya im just pulling stuff out of thin air just like you said..... maybe come back with a better responce after playing other MMO/games for sometime before replying, because it shows clearly you have no clue how all the company's does it, also would like to point out Gpotato didnt always do this and they still do the whole coming soon bit if they dont have a hard date for a patch or game, Oh and the game your trying to use for back up argument LOL before it was even announced for release here in NA/EU for the longest was Coming Soon
ITT: TwilightAngel, struggling with syntax, believes that the details about what become the subscriptions when going F2P arrived the last day of the "loyalty" offer by blind chance.

Valve announced a lot of time frames and missed them by very far.

Check this (http://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Valve_Time).
Yes but its commonly known by valve, they have created that page and they use expression "valve time" in their announcements. They are trying to make fun of that and actually acknowledge something like this does exist.
NCI does not.

You are right, Harny. But I was just answering to what that player asked: A company that announce a time frame and often misses it and keep announcing. Valve even makes fun of it...

lol well dont think they are setting that time frame in stone either... thus why I said either A the company uses the "SOON" or "we are shooting for" (something along those lines)
Also as the person pointed out even they kinda poke at the time they set themselves so I wouldnt really use them a good example lol

You sure about that.. I just took a quick peak at 2Q2011 release and did not find that info - was it in the call to investers?

It would make no sense anyway ... Oh I 'll delay an announcement for the last minute so more people subscribe. Umm that might work the one time the game goes free to play but otherwise there is no reason for people to subscribe just cause an announcement is delayed. Think about it.
