Lineage Eternal

dont really care, I will play l2.
Looks alright I guess.
having options is always fun
Diablo III clone :P
Well, honestly I don't care about it too.

1. This is totally not Lineage.
2. Its camera view style is totally bad to sieges.
3. I interesting about the Lineage 2.
4. Lineage 2 will have many expansions and updates in the future I want see and play with these.
5. I guess this game just will cut to half the population of Lineage 1 at worlwide, what results, that L1 will fall out from the top lists, while maybe it will lure away 1-2 players from AION, Lineage 2 or Blade & Soul.
Diablo III clone :P

diablo is not mmo
diablo is not mmo

Diablo 2 and 3 are...
it look good. But screenshot are screenshot. need video :p
Diablo III invented top view MMOs?
Are we going to have hordes of kids comparing every game to D3 like they did after WoW?

With Lineage Eternal they're going back to the Lineage 1 spirit, with better graphics of course. Plus it's after L1, chronologically speaking.
Well, the recent changes to Lineage I and II, business-wise, make more sense to me. Build up II with a new model, and end I which will be more directly affected. Of course, I'm wondering about system specs and scalability of detail...
there needs to be more info before regarding it as a clone of Diablo.
however, from the looks, it does seem to follow that pathway.

if it is an MMO the way we imagine an MMO to be, with so many extra mechanics like climbing, and true sieging...
that could be pretty cool.

Well, I guess it will better than the Diablo 3, but no question that the western folk will play Diablo 3, if it is better or not.

Also I guess to those peoples who love the Lineage 2 or AION or WoW the LE not really will that game what they will want play.

As you could see in the videos and interviews in the Lineage 2 will appear the siege weapons and soon the new "core" combat and movement system.

If i want take an example from the game world compare the "siege feeling" of Age of Empires 2 (atm Lineage Eternal) and the Shogun 2 Total War (atm Lineage 2), if you played both game than you understand what about I talk.
As I said in the other post with ling to Mass. lol @ "Lineage Eternal: Twilight Resistance (also referred to as Lineage 3)"

http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/11/08/g-star-2011-ncsoft-announces-lineage-eternal/

man please doesn't link kind of garbage site...

this site copied what the dotmmo.com wrote and it is wrote a lots of fake things like this:

The game was announced in December 8, 2011 and will be presented in G-Star 2011 in December 10, 2011.

or like this:
Release Date: 2012

Lineage Eternal the third title of franchise, but not a third part. As you read the Korean gamer site you can see it normally.
I sure as hell hope this doesn't kill L2.
Diablo 2 and 3 are...

I seriously doubt that any title in the Diablo universe would be considered an "MMO".
wat?

The whole concept of a MMO was somewhat helped along by Diablo II in it's own way... not to mention it's previous incarnation which i believed used an outdated IPX network system which can account for it's lack of initial support.

Either way... it's an "alternative" style MMO... i think it could grow.... easily...

It's a single player game with a multi-player option. It may have showcased features that were later on used in the development of MMOs, but in my opinion it was never marketed as an MMO. You essentially had the opportunity to go through all of the same content regardless of how you chose to play the game.
same thing mostly applies to any other MMO..

depending on the choices and such..

I know it wasn't marketed.. but it still was "part" of the growing genre...
Diablo 1 : 1996
Ultima Online : 1998
Diablo 2 : 2000

If Blizzard wanted Diablo to be a MMO and not a solo game + multiplayer in instances of 8 max players (ie neither a persistant world nor massively multiplayer), they would have done it and advertized as it, starting with D2.
There are discussions about whether Guild Wars is a MMORPG or not, but Diablo sure never was and never claimed to be. Who cares anyway, it works in its current form.
Diablo II and III are NOT MMOs in the traditional sense, and they aren't classified as such by their developers.

Edit: And this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Realm_Online Before any Diablo anything. People give Blizzard far too much credit for things.
I wonder how NCSoft is going to explain having the grey/blue Dark Elves of Lineage II, then going 150 years or w/e to Lineage I and having only brown-skinned Dark Elves, to going back to what I assume will be the Lineage II-style Dark Elves again for Lineage Eternal. At least, I hope we get the Lineage II ones back.
after Shillen returns, and is defeated, the dark elves lose their darkened pigmentation and become more like normal elves.
unfortunately there will never be another grey dark elf in the lineage future.
if we delve deeper into the past though, maybe.

Fixed that for you.

Silly people who think MMO history starts with UO ... :D
We're talking about top view isometric rpg with monster bashing and online, if you've followed the discussion.

Well, I guess the story won't same any more. As the NCsoft wrote in the interviews and on the GD preview site, already under develop the upcoming updates to Lineage 2 chapter 2 chapter 3 etc. Also they told these are under develop, but they will constant upgrade the Lineage 2 until it will have player base.
You can see the Lineage 2 released in 2003 too, but the Lineage 1 in 2011 got new expansion too.
While when the L2 released mostly peoples thought it will better if they start the L2, because it is better in every form as the L1, but now, that come this Lineage Eternal, it is a real different game, we can say it will make for two different gamer base.
So those peoples who love mostly the isometric games will enjoy it, but those who loves the TPS games I guess they won't play with it.

Nope, just MMOs in general.

diablo is not mmo

Diablo 2 and 3 are...

I don't see "isomeric" nor "monster bashing" in there anywhere.
I don't see "isomeric" nor "monster bashing" in there anywhere.

You get to bash monsters, you have levels and you have your own gear and warehouse of sorts.

You role-play as one of the Heroes of the Sanctuary and you follow a storyline (the instances are only there because the story line is closed, since the game was made for single-players when the MMO concept wasn't that present just yet).

The problem with Diablo 2 was that the story wasn't expandable, apart from the LoD expansion.

Ok, Blizzard didn't had thoughts to make Diablo 2 that "massive" into multiplayer, but you still get some elements.

Diablo 3, afaik (I might be very wrong), won't work without being connected to battle.net and I don't know if it will keep the same system, but the storyline is far more expandable than Diablo 2 and may be more open.

Alas, Diablo 3 wasn't marketed as anything just yet.

My MMORPG concept may be kinda flawed, but if Diablo 2 and 3 aren't that RPG, I might consider they at least MMO Adventure, if there is such thing. As for MMO I take any game where you can compete against thousands of players.

No, the topic is about Lineage Eternal, a top view isometric rpg with monster bashing and online, which is why some said it's a D3 clone. If it wasn't top view isometric, nobody would have mentionned D3.
And there some people recall the difference between LE and D3 : D3 isn't a MMO. The rest still stands.

W-H-A-T? I don't want to turn into a yellowish fairy!

you won't... I really doubt Lineage 2 will grow enough to hit Lineage 1 story... It just don't make sense, game wise...

Also, I've got a feeling that Shillen won't be killed that easy like in 2 or 3 updates... I'm thinking we will see she wrecking havoc for a while, harder and harder with every update...

You won't. The Dark Elves of Lineage I are actually darker-skinned than the ones we're used to, but they live entirely underground. And they're brown. http://www.linlib.com/lineage-characters.php

This page mentions that they have blue-gray skin, but I think you will see that the pictures speak for themselves. This is one of those things that has never made sense to me in Lineage's convoluted mythology. Kind of like how Baium built the Tower of Insolence with X amount of floors, and it was thrown down by the powers that be, and then 150 years in the future (Lineage I), we have 100 floors, and the big bad guy at the top of the tower is Death itself. I guess we killed Baium so much that Death stepped in.

A tower that defied many entities someday will be judged and condemned...

Too much slaughter in ToI made Death appear and run the whole show...
it actually sucks guys...i was expecting something else.
I think i'm gonna continue on lineage2 and thanks that l2god is here for me/us.

I might change my mind if i see some videos from it.

I guess all of us or almost everyone who play Lineage 2 will keep continue play Lineage 2 and won't change to Lineage Eternal.

Example I will stay here sure, I love the Lineage 2 and I love the features of the upcoming updates, also I not want start from 0 in another game first of all not in another Lineage game. I maybe start from 0 at the Innova if i will play there, but I know the game so by this knowledge it will just like to start a new character.

Here is the official G-Star video:

As you can see, the game (called "MMO" by the speaker) is centered around mass slaughter, marking an area of effect with your mouse and letting the fire descend :D

If you calculate game time with real life time, less than 50 years has passed since the story of lineage 2 began. L2 is set about 200 years before lineage 1. So 21 more real life years will have to pass before we technically catch up to the lineage 1 timeline.

Exactly my point... WAY less than 50 years... Also, that 21 number is correct only if they keep up this same pace, which I highly doubt...

Thing will go way haywire in GoD... Everything gets changed...
It looks like we will jump forward in time when GOD releases. The when we start there is already a decent sized community at talking island. All the destroyed landmarks had to have taken some time to do. Imo. Lineage eternal looks cool as a side endeavor. I'll definitely play it in conjunction with l2. Especially with truly free, there is room for another mmo.
Well it has nice graphic, but a really scripted action part. This game would work well as a single player game, but I guess it isn't so good as an MMO.

So i will stay here with you guys, or at the Innova:), but in the Lineage 2!
This game looks great. :) Definitely reminiscent of Diablo but there are quite a few games like that out there now. Made me think of Titan Quest in particular for some reason. It just looks like clean fun to me! I've always really dug these kind of games and didn't think I'd be excited by another NCsoft game, but I'm already all squeeky! I hope it comes out quickly!

Ty for the video links, the one with the translations was particularly helpful. I definitely think there's enough room for both games since they seem to carry such a different feel.

I'm wondering how mob spawns will work and how much of it will be instanced? So much of it seemed like a single player design.

How does one forget to put L1 in that list...

As for Lineage Eternal; looking good :)
But the name is easely to mix up with the Lineage 1 update: Eternal Life
Fixed that for you.

Silly people who think MMO history starts with UO ... :D

MUD is 1978?! huh that is surprise!

I was playing it, but I think it was 1989-1991 still using BBS .. I think it was CompuServe... :D
Hell I spend eons of time at that game....

Still remember mine scream when I died .... soon after I decide to quit!
So someone could give me an answer?

This is lineage 3 or no? Because this *** wrote "also known as Lineage3",i get confused.

have you ever thought that noone knows for sure? you have access to the same source like all of us, but do not depend on yourself and expect that everyone around you should think for you.

right now there is known another project: Lineage Forever.

Any of those can be lineage3, but it seems we might get LE sooner so acording to timetable it sould be L3.

you should just look at it like at call of duty series. there was CoD, CoD:MF, CoD:BO and etc and etc, every of which has their own 2nd-3rd parts but all of them are still call of duty

Lineage Eternal just simple Lineage Eternal it isn't L3. L3 stopped.

Lineage Eternal just a Diablo styled game what is playing in a "Lineage" world.

Lineage Forever is huge update to Lineage 1, this update will remake the graphic of Lineage 1 from 2D to 3D, while players can keep their chars and their items on their own servers.

These informations was already confirmed on G-Star 2011.

GoD is, technically, Lineage 3

GoD is, technically, Lineage 3

Pocket got it, the best piecies of information we get so far points that Lineage 3 was shutoff and most of its contents were adapted to Lineage 2 inside the GoD update.
