The Steam video game service, used by 35 million people, has been compromised by hackers.

Its owner and operator, Valve, uncovered an intrusion into a user database while investigating a security breach of its discussion forums.

The attackers used login details from the forum **** to access a database that held ID and credit card data.

Valve said that, so far, it had no evidence that credit cards were being misused or Steam accounts abused.

WTB function to change my Forum Password

locks were only meant to keep good people out.

changing your password will not deter a hacking attempt. and if someone wants in bad enough, rest assured you're going down.

accept that its only pixels, and move on.

any CC charge can be un-made. especially ones on the internet.

I rarely get into the forums from my personal computer. Webpages have much more flaws. Also, having 2 different password means that they could be stored at different places, so hacking a forum DB wouldn't mean hacking my game account.

The point is, having your CC number, CSC, password and expiration date is enough to make a Clone of your credit card. Take that along with the fact some of them are international and BINGO, you got something identical to your card at the other side of the world... By the time you realized this, you are already having headaches to properly sue NCI or whoever leaked your details...

Not to mention your money being used to fuel Crimes and Drugs...

Hi new to this !! ive just activated lineage 2 account and useing the NCSoft downloader !! is this the same as this Steam ,
BTW after 24 hours still only on 50% of down load done. Really should activated the account after the game loaded. gonna be a waste of 2 days.

Better yet, use http://www.gamershell.com/download_69500.shtml for fast links and even a torrent one.

http://www.lineage2.com/pds/game_dw.html has more links too, depending where you are.

But all in all, torrents usually work better.

Just bc it goes F2P idk why they would wipe it since you can still use it for perch stuff.

Now if you do the whole 1 time use thing then your fine or paypal, but hey never know but I dont think they remove the info bc it switch from P2P to F2P you would have to go and remove the card yourself

Can still cancel your card and still any charges can be refunded, also anything you do or buy can help fuel crime and drugs so dont see your point =P

Also most people that **** gaming companys for CC info normally attack certain countries

yep after over 15 hours of downloading via the ncsoft and got little beyond 50% now doing zip file from Games Hell .com

Very true! Which is why all my NCSoft games have unique logins/passwords oer game and are different than my main NCSoft account. Something I wish more places would offer. Also, my contact email is not my main one, so it can't be used to log into my email ^_^
