Increased exp would benefit newer players. If you increased loot then most of the high level places would be full with lvl 85/80/80/80 people farming adena.
So either make an increased drop event or increased exp, not both.
My only worry with the event is that lower levels will level too fast.
The thing with L2 is there isn't a lot of currency or ways to make it at lower levels it seems. So if you have newer/trial people leaving up really quickly they wont have the adena to actually get the gear they need to progress further.
I think if you do make it double exp you need to make it double adena drops at least. It doesn't have to be double drops as a whole, but make the mobs drop 2x the adena to help curve some of the costs that will come with leveling so quickly.
Isn't it like the forth or fith last double xp even before GoD?
1 weapon per server per day? Hmmm... Why do I have the feeling 80% of thsoe are going to be taken by those bots in witchs cata and DO that are up 24/7? Will last 2 weeks so... probly no pts before that I guess. It'll be winter and not fall when GoD finally comes live :P
Is this also 2x adena/drops and you just overlooked writing it? I hope so because most of us are 85 100% and 80 100% on subs (at least the one we will dual class). I appreciate the event, just want to make sure it's worthwhile to the majority of us. Though the double xp will be nom nom delicious since OEing skills to +25-+30 has killed my sp pool lol.

Being 85 won't help them much if they're still a 2 shot in Dynasty with 60 resist. If someone wants to actually compete then they need 3x120 S84 and 300 weapon with SA, and hopefully some boss jewels. Go do the math on that, and try to remember that this will be the last such event before the update (in all probability at least).
this is dissapointing .. means no pts till end of november ... god will be a x-mas event .. bah ...
+ could add not only exp-sp, but drop x2 too. Otherwize a lowbie character gets x2 less drops per lvl and ends up with nothing. Drop sux enough...

Especially, considering the fact that adena and attribute drops are quite negligible in GoD, and pretty soon the gap between rich players (those who can afford getting new sets of elemented R-grade gear) and all the rest will become unbridgeable.
I guess we're not getting GoD till end of the year. Stupid events, stupid delays. Tired of this, everyone is tired of waiting for GoD. Tell us why is this taking so ***ing long to realease at least PTS??? Test server = testing!! Things doesnt have to be perfectly fixed on PTS, to let people in and test stuff there ...

For those who are just trying to be in the first out the gate group in Goddess, this is a good event. A last chance to get their main and favored sub to the max level before Goddess. But the event is really not for the benefit of other players. NC needs a lot of players going into Goddess to encourage new players to level fast and buy the fast leveling bonuses from the NC in-game store. That's Free To Play.
While nothing is said about 2x drops and we should assume they are not going to happen making everyone poorer, it could still be there. Not sure how NCwest added that to the 2x weeks we have had, so maybe they can do it. Maybe they will, though it probably doesn't matter either way.
By the end of the year, or shortly after, all the peasants in L2 will be able to shout, "L2 is dead. Long live Goddess!" Those of us who have played L2 for several years are not the customers NC wants now. Those that stop playing, or go to other games, will not affect the income of NCwest. Many of us would not be buying stuff from the NC store, or if we did, just using up the NCoins which we get for our existing subscriptions.
Goddess is a new game with a new marketing plan. Had it existed when I started L2, I probably would not have played. Goddess so far has not excited me. I will continue to play the old L2, while it still exists, while I check out the new game. Hopefully NC's new engine for Goddess will fix the 7 years worth of bugs which L2 has accumulated. That would make Goddess viable and more than just a third rate buggy clone of all the other MMOs. If NC has kept the uniqueness, the features which have kept many of us playing L2 and not the better know competitors, that we need Goddess or at least the PTS to determine.
The other benefit of Free to Play for NC will be that they don't need any end game content. Maxed out characters will not be paying for the game. Better those players go away and make room for new people who will spend money. It's a system which fast food chains find very profitable. So should NC. The server should continue to run. "Long live Goddess!"
Thanks for the event! This will help a lot of the newer clan members to L2 - keep them going for GoD.
It will also help those of us working to get to 85 (and 80 on our subs), who don't have lots of free time.
95% of players will really appreciate this. It's that fraction of the remaining 5%, who also seem to have so much time to spend trolling on the boards, that will complain. That fraction of the remaining 5% is not enough to keep the game alive. I think NCSoft figured this out long ago.
I am one of the 95% that likes the 2x XP (hope it truly stacks with other vit, unlike the last 1.5x event which didn't lol)
but I would like to see the 2x drop/spoils with it, I mean why not? It's not like mobs drop large quantities of adena or other drops and the people leveling faster have a really hard time keeping up so they can afford gear :(
and even though we did get some vit items in the last event, GM buffs/vit would be nice a couple of times a day :o
and the Dragon Buff would be really nice too! lol :rolleyes:

Newsflash, 95% of the server is lvl 85. That you've been around since 2004 and still have not hit lvl cap says all that needs to be said ;)

As someone that has just recently started up a new account with my wife, while the 2x XP would be nice would much rather have 2x drop this way won't be stuck using lower D grade gear while being at Upper B grade levels. It would defenitly be nice to have both, but doing the Xp/SP without the drops is going to really screw over the people that are just starting out in this game.

It doesn't need to be your priority, just like I don't have time to play every day. This isn't C2 where the xp grind was super painful. Play however you like, but don't assume that most of the server is like you (i.e., not max level). Most of the people you see leveling are alts or subs or rerolls.

dont really think reactivate event would really bring people back since there nothing really new. Maybe accounts that havnt played in a few yrs it will be something new but the 2x exp event im fine with =P.
I would say they should do the free activation event once GoD goes live BUT it will be F2P by then. Maybe BIG MAYBE this giving us a hint when GoD will go live since AION kinda does the same thing they do some event with exp like a week or 2 before a new major patch is given a live date to get people to lvl up so they can play with the older people in the new update
Edit: lol nvm I just read the flyer thing lol ya guessing that saying GoD will be released sometime Dec. Also If I remember correctly fall for 2011 is between Sept 23rd - Dec 21st and winter starts Dec 22nd. So NcSoft Fall launch for GoD still has a window

Obviously there is a great deal of players NOT capped and they are concerned about this. Maybe 95% of the players we have living on the forums are capped but I run into alot of ppl my level (76ish) in game playing their mains. Having these events costs money and manpower. They're not holding them for no reason. The IMO

2) You might run into some lowbies and new players, and I'm glad you'll all get an xp event, but the vast, vast, vast majority of players are level capped. All that people were asking was to make the settings also 2x drops/adena.

They heard/saw to many people cancelling their accounts in the wait for L2 going F2P, or just waiting for hoping on Innova. Hence they came with this event in order to squeeze the last bucks they can for subscriptions. Activating all accounts in good standings will mean probably no more money ever from some sector of market.

huh? Running that 2x event wont get cancel people to come back and try, reason for a reactive event is to get old players to return. Normally games do this after a patch that adds new things to the game. AION for example each time there a update that adds new stuff to the game NcSoft normally does a activation event for a week or 2 for old accounts to try out the game and see if they would like to come back. It doesnt hurt anything money wise for NcSoft to do this since a closed account is still a closed account.
But like I said no point in doing something like this since nothing really new int eh game and once GoD goes live its F2P so still no point

Im not argueing, 2x adena and drops would be just as nice hell...nicer....my rebuttal
1) Ya a rate setting would take very little to do im sure. Coding in new event npcs and rules for events such as tiger scrolls and melons takes a bit more im sure. As those would have to be entered into the source at some point, unless there are utility apps that will switch on such events. why else do we download patches for the events? Who knows? i dont.There are extra busy bees during this time to be certain.
2) All i know is that i have ppl ask me what armor im wearing and complementing me on it when im wearing tallum (noob sign). Also look at all the ppl hanging out in the towns while you seige a castle or all the ppl gathered around the oly broadcasting crystal thingys. If I were capped i wouldnt be standing in Dion or aden wearing blue wolf armor during a seige or oly. Not to argue but from my point of view i still see alot of lowbies but come to think of it I see alot of dynasty...actually mostly dynasty. I see very little moiria or vesper. Either ppl cant afford it (most likely scenario) or they are sub 80/84. I am 100% You are more active than I and know tons more ppl so what do i know lol. :D
I would love a vesper drop to go along with my double xp :) that would more than make up for the double drops.
One last thing to consider...ppl want double drops and adena...but I have made tens of millions during the last few events just by selling the event items to player run shops in giran...Im sure i made more off of that stuff than 3 mo. of double adena drops.
It is almost 2012, how in the world do people that play Lineage 2, a game from 2004, not already have a VESPER WEAPON?
The people I know in this silly little game are working on their 4th weapon for their 4th alt that are 85 100%.....
Nothing is going to get people excited about this game except a launch date for a F2P G0D.....even then we may just be delusional to think that people actually want to return or will play the game we kept alive for so long.......

See, you end people only want gear, while us lowbies want levels.
Levels mean nothing, gear means everything.
You will get your levels sooner or later, no matter what. Just remember, the faster you level the poorer you end up.
And if you're lacking gear you'll see how useless your levels are against well geared toons.
Make 2x drop/Adena and let the xp like it is.
There are already ppl running around being 76++ but with A Grade gear only...
Hell 80+ ppl running around that cant buy the old S Grade stuff...
Srsly, some1 of the "smart" event planer should play l2 from lvl 1 during the 2x XP to see how far he can get with like 0 Adena.

The event is more likely an attempt to get new people to start playing the game, or even people played before to reactivate to take advantage of it before L2 goes F2P+GoD launches.
No point to please current players when there's not enough new players to fill up the server(s); if there's still going to be enough people playing on Naia lol.
The event won't get any new player.. everyone knows wer're going F2P.. this event is going to be used to:
Level Alts (75-90% on 3rd party progs).
Farmers to log trial accounts in order to get the vesper weapon drop.
Annoy even more the people that are waiting for pvp.. and it doesn't come because enemy is xping
If you ask me, NCWest needs someone that can create events in order to keep the remaining playerbase active.. and obviously lure more players to the game.

This event is a good thing for people who is not yet 86/81/81/81 (and there's still a lot, you seems to ignore that) and for leveling alts. The only thing I regret is there's no 2x adena/drops :(
