NC's tactic is like the sales that some companies currently uses (a lot more) for this recession economy. The beauty of impulse buying. I've seen plenty of people fall for it, as I've worked in retail while studying. I already see some examples on the forum:
This event isn’t for those with 86/81/81/81 accounts, you are already where NCsoft wants you to be and paid full price to get there. These events are for the casual player that is wavering on the fence and needs to be enticed to play the game. Hardcore players that are complaining about needing the update to continue are not really going anywhere and they will continue to play regardless of their tantrum. As it has always been here and in many other gaming communities there is this persistent whine to for the next update or newest version, which is accompanied with the idle threat without it they and their many friends are out.
If they actually leave to play some other game it seems they mostly always come back once the release arrives. Sad part of this is they start whining for the next release in only a few weeks, no matter what they are never satisfied. We shall see on November 30th.
I'm looking forward to this event as someone who isn't 85, hasn't played since 2004, and not part of this 99% apparently that's here.
My only complaint is that even now its hard to come by adena, really hard. Increasing the leveling speed isn't necessarily going to help us as much as it might hurt us. Being level 75+ in C grade stuff isn't acceptable and if we aren't getting increased drops and adena with it it essentially defeats the purpose of the event itself.
L2 isn't like other games where once you're a higher level you can work your way up or jump right into doing things. You need gear and without it you'll even have a hard time just soloing.

Generally it is not about being 75 in C Grade, we had that back loong ago too. The problem nowadays is that you cant compare in any way vs. the older ppls gear/oe skill wise + even if ur lvl 80 but still in A Grade it's close to impossible to find parties. And that is what NC can't understand.
(Hell, i had a lvl 80 DD asking me to go with him to DV.... while he was with Common A Weapon and Drac LA...)

Level Alts (75-90% on 3rd party progs).
Farmers to log trial accounts in order to get the vesper weapon drop.
Annoy even more the people that are waiting for pvp.. and it doesn't come because enemy is xping
If you ask me, NCWest needs someone that can create events in order to keep the remaining playerbase active.. and obviously lure more players to the game.
Why does the trial acct matter? you cannot trade, chat , or ingame mail on trial. what purpose would it serve to grab a vepser on a trial acct?
We never has double xp event more then 1 week. What the sick mind invent this event? Why not 1 week of double xp/sp and double drop, and another 1 week PTS instead of this?
Chinese powerlvling service can't work so hard during 2!! weeks!! :D
Cos once GoD is out Trials = f2p = they can trade etc.

Not really, you still need to apply a game XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX code to make trial acct's be the same as a full acct, just won't need to get time card's anymore.

not once it goes free to play. theres no need to apply any codes. the game is free. all old accounts will not need anything to reactivate, they can just log in.
yes, this also means the old trial accounts from farmers long gone will also be activated.
and all that long lost gold will be for sale again.
NC doesnt think about these kinds of things, they just do them and **** the consequences.
Funny thing happened a minute ago, for some reason I went to kill a guard and it dropped vesper duals, but unfortunately it was a buff ;( LOL'ed anyway.
