Are any of you castle holders afraid of the coming swarm? If they don't put up any new US servers it will be interesting to see how and if any dinosaurs get knocked off of their thrones.
What's everyone's plans to deal with it? With how GoD is looking people may be PVP viable within a month or so if they play hardcore.
I said that Scripters from Privates might come but vets will too and it is truth.
However, PvP is broken on Privates because 99% of them have Skills bugged or tweaked in many sorts (re-use time, duration, damage, cost etc)
So I guess that having a large experience in Private servers PvP won't matter much...

Oficial servers will have an horde of new players that think they are TOP PRO PLAYERS because they were top pvp in private servers... and they will run away craying at their first attemp to pvp here....
well if F2P brings in waives of new player expect alot of the Priv server hackers to come along if they wernt already banned lol

Well with the changes coming with GoD everyone will be on the same page of figuring everything out again, and the top players be they on official or coming from other servers will be the first ones to figure out the top builds, hence why they're called top players. Skill comes from being able to adapt and overcome, not from knowing what works and using it over and over.

When you can buy your toon or get it up to full +20 gear way faster and easier than here, you just won't have bots. Those who can pay for bots can pay for power that's sold on that servers.

I'll look around for that. Edit: Went to a 'donations' page of one of the servers and all they sell is name/sex change and hats.
The changes GoD is bringing to PvP aren't that deep as the ones people coming from privates will experience.
And don't look around for power in the Official Game Shop... That is the only thing they can add that will make me either quit or begin playing only with my clannies for the lulz, which is the first step to quitting in anyway...

Looked at one that was 103785573x and it sold stuff you mentioned, but I don't take that one seriously anyway.
Seems that "retail-like" servers sell reasonable stuff and "lol-fast" servers sell power.
I am curious to see how NCSOFT handles the shop here, I know on the Russian version they sell shots up to B grade in theirs, that's the only symbol I could recognize.
Russian Server sells Enchants and give you the chance to obtain Diamond Enchants (those never fail). That's selling power.

I had played on private servers that sell you up to S85 armor and weapons... and servers that only sell hats and masks... in all of them.. you find bots...
but you will not find threads in forums...
1- because they are ignored ... and they just stop posting and prefer to pk the bots...
2- because the post are constantly deleted..
3- Because they tell you "oh... you dont like it?? There is the door... leave!!"

I'm not saying they "suck", I'm saying that they play another thing that's not Lineage 2.
I myself came from a 4 years term playing on different servers and I've seen different situations before hopping in the retail thing, which I found out to be WAY different than elsewhere.
But I do know that may servers have WAY more players than we do right now.
I just said that they are tweaked and edited and, for the majority of L2J servers out there, they have bugged skills.
You see, I once played somewhere where Trickster couldn't use Traps at all... Decoy only began working (bugged) after 2 or 3 months after CT1 was implemented.
So, not saying anyone "suck", just saying they won't be that good when confronting the true rules of the game.

well from what NcSoft just items to help you out and progress faster if u need it and vanity items
No way that new players can beat any long time players.
Only chance is to massive zerg.
Even if a new player is 85 in lets say 1 month. The maxed lvl + maxed skill oe + top gear players will lvl this 1 month also. Resulting in higher lvls + stronger skills + better gear again.
Maybe a handful will be good, but they will mostly join the strong clans.
Was always like that and will be.
they're welcome to try and with the whole F2P stuff if there's really going to be pvp I'll predict lot's of old pvp'rs coming back that got bored by how the game is now..

First thing for you to learn is that the game as a whole is pretty much different and PvP mechanics are quite another world.
Don't expect coming here thinking any PvP experience on other servers will matter.

It will be close to impossible to compete with them.
Just as example: Top clans have players with all skills maxed + top gear +6 3*120 ele and OE Weapons.
While new players try to get to 85+ to awake the old top players use the same time to go up also.
(Not talking about most top private server pvpers that use NPC Buffers etc. GL fighting a constant that plays as team for years and know in and out how each other party member reacts)
cant agree w/ Luxiel and Dreamer. if newcomers r ready to show nolifer style + ebuying + teamplaying it wont take long time for them to get used to new game mechanics and get close to old players in gear and lvls. but truth is that they prolly will join any of existing sides than create their own
the fact its , it wont be 2 factions old players vs new players , the old players will play an important role in the evolution of the game , after all they are the back bone of any mmo but its up to anyone to do its best to create a healthy community for everyone

to the others, my ppl ll come to server, plus weed, and another major clans, like some dudes from genocide and another stuff, some guyz from genocide in past are members of enmity, we have news about pb clan and others.
When my friends start, i´ll create my own clan, like others will do, and i tell u, we have plans to make chronos a pvp server, like it should be, if u guyz dont acept war, u re all doommed.
Guys stop treating privat players/clans like idiots...cmon i dont know where you played but you played on the wrong server. there pretty much "retail" like servers that use leaked files from nc.
and Swarm from the old luna server was a Privat server clan before comming to retail.
No one can assure that the PvP wasn't tweaked there.

I've already seen toon edited to have no re-use time skills on some privates.
Others had 100% Lethal Land Rate...

Just stating that no one should start playing thinking they know how to play because they played on other servers.
Everyone must be humble and learn from the basics, as the servers are different in many ways. :)

IMHO the people from the private servers will be as skillfull as those that played offical. There will be some getting used to since on some private servers buffs last longer but its only a matter of a few weeks to get up to speed.
However, L2 depends greatly on level and equipment so there will be a bit of a lull.
Really when Dev had the Greek invasion everyone said how they didn't know how to play etc.because they came from a private server..guess we found out different.
All I can see for the incoming GoD updates will be; hell for new comers and haven for old players why, all the resources, castle sieges and epic raid bosses are already dominated by old pro players in the server.
And also its really different experience in all aspects when you are in Private Server why because everything there is very easy with no hell effort unlike for the Legit retail servers of Lineage 2,
If the Old players harasses the new coming players well it will be really fun, why because "we are here before you and shut up and hide your self while you are weak (worst thing they might back to Private server because of full effort required by retail server, look for new game or other options.) and become strong enough to kill me".
On the other half, its a different thing when there is a fresh server that all can start to level 1. Some players from Private Server, newbies and old players will picked the new server will definitely urges the the new epic battle from clan vs clan up to alliance vs alliance.
L2 offers a lot of opportunities for players that makes us in-love with the game we played. If you dont like PvP, stay away from PvP clans and enjoy your daily dates with monsters and others stuff. This game is like a real world you can do "almost" everything but not everything at all. I'm just saying
I played both retail and private server communitys and I can say that there are servers out there that have a huge count of players and pro clans not because they offer the best prices for gear but the most retail like experience with no advantages by donations.
In the last years good old mother russia leaked 2 retail file packages. First is Gracia Final PTS files and H5 PTS files from official russian test server.
Both have been sold to some recent developers and server providers wich had the most successfull server for years with 4-5 k ppl on their main servers with no donations that affect gameplay.
Don´t say priv server players don´t know how to play becuz they do know. And being in a clan with all the same ppl for years and knowing those guys well is no retail privilege.
Some servers are out there since C4 with a player base of 1-2k ppl always online.
They ll play more then 10 h a day to keep up with u guys and you may regret your arrogant manners.
Hyakki is absolutely right, there are countless amounts of private servers out there using the official platform, aka leaked PTS files, which is basically the same **** thing your playing now, just because the rates are boosted a bit won't make a difference when they come here, they know how to play, if not better, don't think you guys are the only clans with 3 digit numbers here, they're are plenty of close knit clans that have played together for years and with a huge core from private servers, although I must say, Chronos/Naia will be a warm up for a lot of them, from the dozen factor clans I've checked on, are joining Innova servers, for the fresh start. Good luck retail veterans, at least you have gear over the incoming players, levels arent a factor these days :D

when after few years of premium account double xp/sp/adena rates bonus was removed from russian official, people started to QQ a lot about how it is possible to not get broke with x1 adena rate :D
you should treat x1 rates properly, as me myself years ago was exping my hawkeye only with doubleshot skill, and regening mana for hours every day just to save on soul shots. :rolleyes:
anyway we are looking for new enemies who will chalange us in everyday exp, TW or castle sieges. hope all knew players will be able to make some 100+ online clans to be a serious competition for old players :cool:

No its not. There has been several servers that would proove you wrong. Active GMs, custom anti-cheat and very helpful comunity made the server 99% bot free.

donations on seriuos private servers r just to keep up the server and they don´t offer other services then NC Soft does, for extra money besides the bucks u pay already
+ they won´t give up, those people are tired of having to change servers and will love the constant service nc soft has to offer

Lol, most new players will want to join the dinos, nothing will change. At least not for the better. The people always want to have stuff and the dinos have most income.
Perhaps even people in small clans will be so much overrun by the zerks, because of the new war system, that even they join a zerk just to be able to play.
Predict also union of medium sized clans for that reason.

I with Hyakki. I come hear cause it free. No care about nothing but Private Servers no have people post 10k + If that they would be funny or sorry really. This is game not life.
Most have life and play casual.
But many will come and have fun and support NC. Many are good play but have to start over. NC help them. Sure RMT help them. Top clan help them too..the best players.

Private Servers and all that they involve are taboo and here even the types of servers existing are listed and compared...
Sace used to get rid of these kind of things really fast...
I understant that private servers caused lots of inconvenience for nc but i dont see how that can afect the official community now , since they decided to go ftp they already got involved with the private community by allowing and welcoming the players that donated and encouraged the illegal activity by donating for the server's developers.

I don't know why people is arguing here about p.servers vs official servers.
To begin with, coming from a p. server or not won't matter much, simply because the game will be "new" for everyone in terms of skills/classes...so what's the point of arguing about stuff like "skills work a different way here and there", or are you going to play with non awakened character? :p
Also it's a very stupid argument because if someone has hands to play on dozens of p. servers where skills work different from each other, they will surely adapt themselfs to the skills on retail, it's not that big deal.
And to finish with this...more servers will be added, so i doubt people care much about old players from Chronos and Naia...it's been confirmed that more servers are going to be added to help the influx of newcomers, or were you all expecting thousands of players fit in 2 servers?
