Dual Blunt question

General Discussion Started Last reply 112 posts
Hello again !

New question , i saw a video of a dwarf using dual blunt while being tyr warrior , my question is (i plan to use them on a duelist - tyr warrior):

1.will they be e like...enchant to +4 and get SA? or you have to put crystals to get focus..bla bla...
2.how will the skills work , same as with dualswords?
3.can i wear dual blunts before awakening? (will there be lower grade dual blunts?)
4.and another thing.... as far as we know , there is no blunt+sword combination right?
Add it to the list of things you wont get to test!
1. will they be e like...enchant to +4 and get SA? or you have to put crystals to get focus..bla bla...
-Dual Blunts and Dual Sword for R Grade now have you place an SA with R-Grade Crystals and Soul Crystals instead of needing to +4 them. Instead, the +4 option will be on all R-Grade weapons for some attack bonus.

2. how will the skills work , same as with dual swords?
-Dual blunt are used with Dual Weapon Skills for awakened classes. This would make them functionally usable by Tyrr Warrior and Enchanter Class.

3.can i wear dual blunts before awakening? (will there be lower grade dual blunts?)
-All Dual Blunts are currently R-Grade in GoD.

4.and another thing.... as far as we know , there is no blunt+sword combination right?
-This is correct.
Thanks Sparse for the detailled answer, I think it's really nice from you :)

(and still lf this contest between us two :P)
Sparse, since we won't get PTS and such, could I kindly request you to, please, try to answer the best you can our main doubts about the GoD update?

I feel the need to find someone who can answer us some stuff we would need PTS to test. Do you think you can put something up like this?

Thanks,
~Lux
I can certainly try to address some questions. I just can't promise to test or look at everything asked since we're already pressed for time.

Thanks!

May I begin asking what will happen to current TW and Olympiad Badges when GoD goes live? Do we keep them or you guys will need to reset them to implement the update?

Also, some said that, with GoD, the top enchantment for 2nd and 3rd Class skills will be capped at +10. Some think this only applies to Awakened Characters and other, only to Awakening skills. Which is truth?

Thanks Sparse,

I'm curious if our accounts have to be active to receive the Stone of Destiny?

TW Badge changes have not been confirmed yet. (this already being look into through)

Awaken Skills max enchant to +10
No change to 2nd / 3rd class skills enchantment.

Thank you very much, Sparse!

I guess Draecke can rest now about Skill Enchants :)

No info on the Olympiad Tokens though?

At least someone is giving us answers... Sad we had to beg a GM to do it, but I'm glad to see you guys are trying to cope with the community.

Thanks again!

Thanks Sparse,

I'm curious if our accounts have to be active to receive the Stone of Destiny?

I am not sure on the final details for the Distribution of the Stone of Destiny yet. However, you should look at it from a level restrictive point of view instead of account type. Remember we are changing to a Truly Free system. So your previous account will not have an active or inactive status.
Will current Oly tokens be migrated to GoD?

Sparse? Can you act as CM more, instead of Necro/etc? :)

Communication > Censorship in player experience and game success.
Will current Oly tokens be migrated to GoD?

The items types that migrate from Highfive to GoD is still being tested.
Thanks Sparse, a simple "we don't know just yet" is always better than just pure silence.

It's great to have a willing GM. :)

He wouldn't be Sparse then, would he.
He wouldn't be Sparse then, would he.

I guess his paycheck covers more than just plain community managing, so he is kindly doing us a favor rather than doing his job...

At least I bet GMs are better paid than CMs, but that's not the point here :D
Awaken Skills max enchant to +10
No change to 2nd / 3rd class skills enchantment.

Hello Sparse! Thanks a lot for taking the time to answer questions!

I agree that there will be no change to 2nd / 3rd class skills enchantment as long as the character is not yet Awakened:
http://power.plaync.co.kr/lineage2/%EC%8A%A4%ED%82%AC+%EA%B0%95%ED%99%94

But it seems to change if you want to re-enchant those 2nd / 3rd class skills which have been reset to +0 during the Awakening quest. Please take a look at the screenshots and the ensuing discussion here (continues on the following page):

Hypothetically if you want to re-enchant old 3rd/2nd class skills after awakening it still allows you to go beyond +10. It looks like you only get one chance to get the refund for enchanted skills which happens when you awaken.

Thought i'd elaborate here since I've been going through the awaken for every class in the game. When a character awakens all of your current skill set is removed (including all of your forgotten skills from level 81, 82 and 83). You are instead given a base set of skills (2nd/3rd Job) for your class [before confirming the awakening the NPC dialog window shows you this list of what skills will remain]. If you had any enchanted skills they are removed and you are given items to use for the exchange of the new Superior Codex. After awakening you now have to option to the learn the new 4th class skills. Each time you learn one of these skills you will be given a list of which skills it is replacing. As you learn each awaken skill you will begin to replace all of the 2nd and 3rd class skills that remain on the character.

This paragraph is the answer I've been searching for about 5 months (since I've began playing this).

Not so much, Yidao, as, for what Sparse said, all our skills will be removed...

Too bad, I wanted to keep Prayer and I saw a video from a Aeore Healer that had it.

So I should understand that I will have no 3rd or 2nd class skill after I complete the awakening?

I think deleted may be the wrong way to put it, your skills set are actually reset to a pre-determined set of skills made of 2nd and 3rd class skills appropriate to your pre-awakened class.

Interesting how no one noticed.

So the right thing to understand is that we lose most of our 2nd and 3rd class skills and get to keep some predetermined ones (maybe even getting new ones that we didn't have), like the Prayer skill that I saw in a Cardinal Awaken to Aeore.

Is that right now, Sparse?

aha, so for people who are doing something silly like going from Titan to Yul Archer, then midway through the awakening quest your skills are set to Hawkeye

am i close ?

That sounds about right, I've only looked at The Rogue, Enchanter and Warrior changes so far. For example the Sword Muse awakens and still has ~40 Skills before exchanging them in.

On the flip side, if you had not learned some skills they are just given to you at this point.

Your skills are reset only after awakening. So if change from Titan to Yul Archer you are now a Yul Archer with 2nd/3rd class archer skills.

So far example, I just took a Doomcryer and Swapped it to Yul Archer. It reset me to a Sagittarius skill set after awakening.

I got it now!

Every class has it's skill wiped and then receives a set of skills (not mattering which the toon had before).
This new set is based on the class the toon was before awakening.
If the toon is awakening to a class it shouldn't, then this set is based on the human default class for each awakening route.

I guess that's it and now everything makes sense. Correct me if I sound wrong.
Thanks once more!

That appears correct based on my observation. If you are doing a Class Switch the awaken skill set will be default to a human class.

Feoh Wizard; sorceror or necro skills ?
Tank : Phoenix Knight or Hell Knight ?

I always said it would be the first in each case :)

That should update my FAQ very well...

Just hope that we get to keep at least some, as there aren't skill with the same effect (Prayer is still my best example, no Aeore skill does what it does and I haven't seen no skill removing it, so if it belongs to the Cardinal Set, it is probably kept).

That's all from me for now. :D

You forgot Tyrr Warrior: Duelist or Dreadnought?
Though I still believe in the online lists for those questions.
So for those classes mentioned, there are multiple warrior, wizard and Knight. The skill sets will default to the following:

Tyrr Warrior -> Duelist
Feoh Wizard -> Archmage
Sigel Knight -> Phoenix Knight

Admit it! You copy/pasted this from my FAQ!
It is even the same format! Shame on you, Sparse!

/jk :D

You know, with less than 8 posts, you provided more feedback than we had in, what, 2 months?
this is good information.

about the +10 max skill enchant post awakening though.

will it be regular Giants codex?
or will it be new Codex for enchanting pre Awakened skills post awakening?

because if it is still regular Giants codex, it will still be a useful item.

nono. how i see it after completing awakening quest on ruPTS u will simply have all 2-3rd class transfer skills which didnt demand forgotten scrolls to learn. so my elf tank kept all his cubics.
New questions:

Some bug arised in RU.off. Especially, the one cited here (http://danieldefo.ru/forum/showthread.php?t=49609) (the link is in Russian, so I don't know if it contains any bad words).

In the picture, we can see that buffs are stacking and the text explain how that happened. Just look at how much M.Atk. the character have.

So, Sparse, some buffs are supposed to stack? If not, this bug was corrected on our version just yet?

Also, will we get the "Harmony" update with our version of GoD, or it will be updated to that later?

I can't reproduce the buff stacking issue in our current test client. The update changes we have been working on are only for the initial release of Goddess of Destruction (does not currently include changes from harmony).

So far example, I just took a Doomcryer and Swapped it to Yul Archer. It reset me to a Sagittarius skill set after awakening.

Thank you for all the answers :) I have few more questions incoming :D

1.After swapping Doomcryer to Yul Archer which race stats (str/dex/con/ect) and special racial skills did this character have? Orc or Human?

2.Is there a way for awakened character to learn/keep 80/81/83 book skills corresponding to new class archetype?

3.In Korea Kamael Judicator class was unable to become a dualclass for long time. Was this problem addressed in NC west client?

4.If someone will switch class A to class B with Stone of Destiny upon 4th class change and use Subclass Change Certificates to exchange lv80 subclass B (same as new mainclass) for class A (same as old mainclass), will he be able to make it Dualclass via lv80 quest? Or is there a bug preventing such swap?
Just wanting to confirm;
If i am a Titan and want to awaken as a Knight, i retain the Orc racial passives correct?
1.After swapping Doomcryer to Yul Archer which race stats (str/dex/con/ect) and special racial skills did this character have? Orc or Human?
-Going to need to do a little more research into this.

2.Is there a way for awakened character to learn/keep 80/81/83 book skills corresponding to new class archetype?
-No these skills are removed from your class after awakening. You also cannot relearn them after awakening.

3.In Korea Kamael Judicator class was unable to become a dualclass for long time. Was this problem addressed in NC west client?
-I was able to successfully Create a Dual Class using the Judicator.

4.If someone will switch class A to class B with Stone of Destiny upon 4th class change and use Subclass Change Certificates to exchange lv80 subclass B (same as new mainclass) for class A (same as old mainclass), will he be able to make it Dualclass via lv80 quest? Will need to look into this to see what kind of restriction apply to swapping class and sub classes.

That is correct, race skills follow you to every class.
I can't reproduce the buff stacking issue in our current test client.
did u try it in right way w/ all kill-rez things as it was done in russian servers? :-))) (i know my question sounds stupid, but what to do >.>)

and about bug w/ rez (when if rezzed u get more exp back than u really lose, so ppl were lvling by kill-rez)? was it fixed in our version of client?

Hi there,

I'd also like to ask two questions :) If I decide to change my class with the Stone of Destiny are the special skills like Expand Trade, Expand Storage, learned Transformations, fishing skills, Flying Transformations, Star Stone Gathering etc. going to stay or they will get deleted too? And what about the recipes I have registered in my recipe book (either common one or the warsmith one)?

hi sparse
1st: i wanna give you a big "thanks" :)
2nd thing:
I read that in GD the stats of all characters will be modified from lvl 1. (http://www.terragamers.net/wiki/index.php?title=Awakening_%284th_class_change%29) the third question from the end.

I have a soulhound lvl 78 with mage setup, and my question is if my char will get mage stats or warrior stats, before be awaken as feoh wizzard.

Thanks again and sorry for my bad english.

bye

lf info on this cus i want to awake as "dagger"(othel rogue or w/e name is)
but my sub is lvl 80 Dagger which i wanna switch to Archer (which is my main atm ;)

dagger(sub now) > archer(in god) sub class
Will current Oly tokens be migrated to GoD?

no, oly tokens get transfered into fame points.

Pre-awakened Kamael start with warrior stats. Both Male and Female Soul Hound awaken as a Foeh Wizard. Your awakened stats will be determined by two conditions:

1. What your base race is.
2. If you have awakened as a warrior or mage.

So you won't see wizards with warrior stats or vice versa.
+1 :)

And here is a new question:
In Sace's Awakening Class Patch Notes for the Tyrr Warrior (http://boards.lineage2.com/showthread.php?p=3099309#post3099309) I do not see the skill Last Attack. Can we conclude from this that the Korean Wednesday patch of September 7 (http://lineage2.plaync.co.kr/board/update/view?articleId=466894) will not be incorporated in the GoD version we get on November 30 and people should not yet sell their A- and S-Crystals?

If I am reading this correctly, all 4th classes will retain their class/racial (2nd and 3rd class) skills upon Awakening. So a Bladedancer will retain DE/Bladedancer skillset, Elven Elder, etc etc. It is only when they do a class-type changing-Awakening that they then take the skillset of the human-class counterpart. Is that correct? So a Shillen Knight will still retain their cubics and other class specific skills when Awakening to Sigel Knight, but if they went say Tyr Warrior, their 2nd/3rd class skills will then be changed over to base Human/Gladiator/Dualist skills and stats?

If this is true, then does that mean that pre-4th class skills will still play a part in post-Awakening and make the 8 Awakened classes still unique to one another?

If you awaken to the same class type as one of your subclass, you cannot Dual Class using that subclass anymore. The NPC which lets you take the Split Destiny quest says "You cannot expand the power to the same class as your main class."

Once you have learned all of the 4th class skills there will be (in most cases) no skills left from the previous 3rd and 2nd job skill.

There appears to be some exception to this, for example the summoners retain the option to summon their Cats, Ponies or Soulless and the overlord keeps their Clan Buff Skills.
More like this:

Apologies, I haven't looked at the forums in over 2 years and just trying to get caught up! Looking through you FAQ now since even the Korean patch notes seem ... lacking?

Just wanted to be sure that after Awakening there will still be some distinction between the different races of each class and that each one will still offer a unique aspect to their 4th-class counterparts.
Just wanted to be sure that after Awakening there will still be some distinction between the different races of each class and that each one will still offer a unique aspect to their 4th-class counterparts.

Probably not, but no PTS to check :D

@ Sparse

That explain why I saw Prayer on that Aeore...

So once a player learns all 4th class skills, there is no real skill-distinction between the classes? DE/LE's lose cubics, Humans lose majesty, etc etc? 7 years of learning skills unique to your race and now everyone just has a generic same set of skills and different racial looks? :(

I don't see the changes listed from the plaync site in the current patch notes we have.
there will be racial skills and race specific stats

Looked around on a Russian forum and just found that. Looks like races will still retain a sense of uniqueness when awakening, even after learning all of the 4th class skills. Though the wording is hard to understand, Google Translate doesn't do grammar very well.

Glad to know that it won't be 3 class changes of unique skills for each race/class only to be slumped into 8 generic classes all with the exact same skills.

It appears these things currently remain if you change class.
I don't see the changes listed from the plaync site (http://lineage2.plaync.co.kr/board/update/view?articleId=466894) in the current patch notes we have.

Ah! Thanks for the info! Good to know :)
With old/new players streaming in there might be an increased demand for A- and S-Shots, making the player-operated Crystal market profitable again :D

Yay, that's great. Thank you for the answer :)
There is one thing I didn't get yet:

OK, people who already have their high lvl characters will get an item to choose among any of the new classes, but, for exemple, if in november the 30 I make a dwarf, will I be able to make him Yul Archer or Siegel Knight?

Thanks

It will depend on what the final level that qualifies you to receive this item. IMO if you have an ALT you want to qualify for this, I would get started leveling on it sooner than later.

They will low the level for receiving the stone but, unless this level is lowered to 1, no you won't be able to do that.

And don't come saying that it is unfair, Stone of Destiny is a reward for players that already were playing for enough time to be at that level.

New players had lots of bonuses like x2 XP/SP weeks and some events when they would make millions and even High S-Grade weapons.

This is no place to discuss New vs. Old Players bonuses, in before this arises.
I don't think I made my doubt clear. I mean, the new characters, those who will be made on GoD, after november the 30 will be able to combine races and classes as they wish or there will be restrictios like we are used to have?

1. All Characters created in the GoD update can awaken.
2. Not All characters created in GoD will receive the item (Stone of Destiny/Fate) required to change route during awakening. (as stated before, this will depend on meeting a specific level requirement.)
3. If you do not posses the Stone of Destiny/Fate, you can only awaken to the same class type as your 3rd class.
I am awake. What skills will I get? What are the skills I have lost?
Stigma, DoD, etc. Rare are very interested. Table of all 30 + classes - better.

I know Awakening Skills + Race Skills. But I don't know my skills after Awakening before learn the new.
most of old skills dont work for 85+ mobs/players, so it doesnt really matter. there r only several skills worth to keep, but u need to read class specified forums to find out which
4.and another thing.... as far as we know , there is no blunt+sword combination right?
-This is correct.

I found a video of blunt + sword on a tyr warrior:

Thats cool, i dont know why they make the dual swords a weapon type , you should equip a main hand and an offhand , that would offer you more mobility and not be stuck with 2 bounded swords.

Sparse,

So....when you say clan buffs... do you mean all of their buffs pre-85? even until lvl 99?... Because they are all clan buffs except for soulshield. Does Victory of Paagrio get removed as well? I saw a screenshot with an awakened party that had VoP buffed on top of awakened buffs. Most importantly, are they still clan-wide in GoD?

Are any of the debuff seals kept? do we lose suspension? (I am guessing we do because I am told all 80 and 83 skills are removed?

ALSO:

If a Dominator decides to awaken as Healer, do they still receive Codexes as reward for pre-85 skill enchants?

I believe draeke commented on the above question before but I'd like an official comment

Thanks!

There are no Dual sword or Dual Blunt mix weapons in Goddess of Destruction currently.

You are not given any Codex when you awaken. Instead you are given an item that can be used to buy the new Superior Codex. You only get these items if you have enchanted 2nd/3rd class skills at the moment of awakening.

The clan buffs are the only skill what remain after learning all awakening skills. You pointed out victory of paagrio. That is a clan buff so it is not removed. However, Dominator buffs would not stack with the new Enchanter buffs. So in practice, the old Dominator buffs would only help people that do not already have any enchanter in their party.

this is an official response to my buff stack exploit thread? old buffs are not going to be stackable on our version of GoD? if so, thats good news

Not an official response for that thread sorry. However, players should not expect 2nd/3rd class buffs to be stack-able with awaken buffs. If any bug or exploit allows this to occur it will need to patched since it is not intended to work that way.

Does this mean Dominators that awaken to Enchanter will have these extra "clan" buffs but another class that awakens to Enchanter will not have the clan buffs? I thought other than race skills (passive only?) all awakened classes would be the same, same buffs as all other Enchanters etc. ?

If that carries over to other classes awakening and getting different things as an awakened toon, that will be really complicated to figure out, especially without a PTS

PS: Thank you very much Sparse for taking time to answer our questions :) and on a Sunday too!

All class awaken with the same 4th class skills available to learn. Once you train all of your 4th class skills you will not see any of the old 2nd and 3rd class skill remain on the awakened character. Only the Dominator awakening to enchanter will get retain the clan buffs since they are the only class that has these available before awakening.

The Awaken Dominator may still retain those old buffs but they will not be functionally useful compared to the new enchanters buffs in a party. I suspect these remain because of their utility for clans (mass pvp or raids).
Thank you Sparse, that is verryyyy interesting, especially since I have a Domi almost 84 :D Woot she will be a little unique

Now get some sleep! We have to keep you healthy since you are helping us so very much in sorting all this out ;)
But what if he uses the SubClass Exchange Item we are supposed to get?

Changing his subclass to his former main class will allow him to Dual Class it?
where is it stated we get such a item? :p im trying to find it but cant find anything :(
Hi there,

i got a Question about the Vita Items we have in WH now. Will they be deleted with the update or will we still be able to use them with GoD?
Because many of us have Vit Pops on chars we "never" play and with GoD its the best time to use them to get full vit again.

I hope you can get us an answer on this Sparse...

thx for now

Serylian

"Class Change Certificates" equal to the number of subclasses generated at the time of the update will be issued to each player. Unlike Subclass Reset, a "Class Change Certificate" allows a player to change class while maintaining the current level. The basic rules are the same as Subclass Reset.
All skills are deleted and the player learns the skills of the new class.

This would be such a big question for Sparse to answer.

In a short way, all FS and Holy Pomander Skills are lost.

For more details, check my FAQ and to some research on the sources I provide ya ;)

Is it needed third job? Because Im lvl 75 now and Im sooo not in the mood to do it.

Sparse already said that not even he knows the minimum level... But as the Third Class Change is level 76 and the limit WAS 76 and will be lowered, so, no, Third Change won't be required (just using logic here).
Hi Sparse,

I have been reading the new web site and the awakening skill replacement list.

I’m looking at the Fortune Seeker to Othell Rouge option, from the list it looks like the skill Weight Limit is retained once awakened. Can you confirm this?

Also is the skill Superior Agile Movement mandatory or do we get a chance to choose not to learn this skill right away?

Thanks for any light you can spread on this.

I wont do that annoying quest then u.u And if I dont get the stone it will be really really sad .-.

Can any GM say anything please?
no need to do 3rd change to get Stone of Destiny. have checked on ru off.
This thread needs a sticky and a name change.

Hi, I don't understand well your sentence in bold.

i.e.: I'm an adventurer, i'm ready to awake and i do it. After awakening will i have race skills + new set of skill based on the class (also based on race?) + awakened skills? Is it right or not? Pls answer me.

If you don't use Stone of Destiny and awaken to same type of class as before, then you will keep your old skill set (minus few skills that you auto unlearn). You will be given racial special skills/bonuses based on your race. When you decide to buy new lv85+ skills, you will have to sacrifice some of the old ones.

For example, if Cardinal wants to learn new Balance Heal (improved version of balance) he will loose old Balance of Life skill.
One thing i am curious about is my main is a PP, and i have a Tyrant, SK, and BD sub. SO i will have to change my BD sub but i was wondering if i could awaken my PP to something else so i can keep the BD sub or do i have to change the sub and then awaken the PP to whatever and then cancel a sub and remake it..

Ok thanks you clarified me some things. But while for some classes could be obvious what could be replaced with which what, like your example, I don't know atm if adventurer's dash will be lost or not, same thing for AW's blinding blow. or trick/switch. Or adventurer's passives like boost atk. speed/evasion/speed./critical chance/critical damage.
After awakening an adventurer could lose these passives or Dash. If not, the thing could be great and he could have higher stats than his brothers assassins also AFTER awakening. Those are huge differences which could make me change my mind about which class to take. I know that many said that but it's not only me about not knowing if awake as a nuker/melee or archer, but these are differences among assassins and withuout any kind of information like this we can't choose at all.

Try to imagine a Othell rougue with dash vs an othell roughe with blinding blow (it could be fair). Try now to imagine an othell rough with dash vs one without one (fail).
Or try to think about AW's Hex, Adv's Mirage, AW's counterattack. It's hard to say what is fair. Another thing that add more complexity to the whole thing is judging the pre-awakening situation of assassins (and not only). Before GOD Humas had less DEX but with his passive atk speed was more. So after awakening Human othell rouge will have WAY more atk speed than DarkElf othell rougue.
I'm certain that developers have done a good job about class balance but i woudn't play a Human Othell Rogue without dash vs a DarkElf otherll rogue with blinding blow plus his new race passive skill "Acceleration" that gives more atk speed. If human assassins could look cool if they mantain their passives on the other hand DarkElf assassins seems to have the BEST race skills to maintain as an awakened class like Othell rogue. While elves now had same CON of humans. -_-
Sparse,

1) Is it true that 2nd and 3rd job skills that you keep when you awaken use a new enchant success scale then what they were originally?

2) At L99 can you give us some screenshots of the % chance to succeed going +10->+11->+12... etc on 2nd/3rd job skills so we can get an idea of how practical old OE's are. Please keep in mind we are already used to success rates < 26% from taking our old 2nd job skills to +30.

Some actual tested data would be great as re-enchanting old 2nd/3rd skills seems to still be unclear.
you can go above +10 at 99?
As Sparse mentioned in another thread there doesnt seem to be any restriction towards going +10 in your old 2nd/3rd class skills but also as ive seen in some pics posted by Elmar in rochand forums apparently they have the same % as your new skills so i would expect them to not get a lot further from +15 or smth but yea some data would be cool, lets hope innovas PTS will allow to get easy access to books to check that
