so i dont get NC Softs exchange rate at all.... total rip off
And please dont even think about paypal being at fault here
paypals echange rate is always just 0.03 worse than real
so use paypal and pay in USD :S
NCSoft doesn't currency trade, they have set prices that will likely remain in place for many years (just like the monthly subscription price). They can't really have their prices fluctuate with the crosses, if one currency is expensive for you use whichever is cheaper

totally agree, NcSoft is simply stealing here EU players...and not even offering us possibility to pay in USD.
This is a framework which makes sellers who are selling services from outside the EU to charge VAT(Value Added Tax) to the members of EU community or European citizens living in EU. No worries, company can't keep VAT to it self.
If we convert: 96 EUR = ~128 USD which is almost as 100 USD + 25% VAT tax(+ add some transfer fees)
So here you go! I believe NCsoft should state somewhere WHY EU costumers have to pay more, it would be much clearer.
i guess for now they did not think to implement or found any european payment solution they can afford.
market on Emarket is nto easy, simple, ruled with some tons of laws of each country. Also it's not fair for non euro zone users players.
What about UK ? Sweden ? and others countries ? Why could we use our money and not them ?
Epayment is a large and complicated topic, regarding to laws, fraud ratings, security of your own datas and such things.
USD make things more easy and simple and they already have tons of things to set up and think abot to also open a large huge folder on world wide payement system for each money.
Be patient a bit guys, market just opened today....

there are people that get charged in euros but their countries are not members of the EU (for example Russia).
there are people who used to live in Europe but moved to another country (like USA) but they still have to pay in euros because it is defined by the country where account was originally created which is totally stupid

this is BS...look at the GBP/USD conversion rate
so use paypal and pay in USD :S

Can't pay in USD with PayPal. I just checked my accounts, and they're all flagged EUROPEAN, while some old trial-accounts hold no region. Lets hope this EU region will be removed so one day we can pay in USD instead of the overpriced overpriced transfer-rates for Euro...
Are we talking about euros or pounds, because last time I checked prices were in euros.

Well regarding your region, contact costumer support, they MIGHT help you. As regarding Russia, the framework I shown was EU only but you know Russia has VAT too.
I guess the best workaround for this rip off, would be buying aion(l2) gamecards and trade them for coins. as i know they should introduce this possibility soon.
i hope i will not be suited by EU for avoiding paying taxes :D

you don't pay VAT on services provided outside of EU in any case scenario
you don't pay VAT on services provided outside of EU in any case scenario
Well apparently you do.
The VAT Act records the concept of providing a service, as well as taxation questions relating to the provision of services outside the territory of the Community or from premises outside the Community, including the conditions for tax exemption.

THAT IS BS!!!!! The UK is part of the European Union so same rules and laws apply and still they just lose 5% when buying with pounds
It just toped to me and it seems I was correct about VAT as european accounting is done by NC Europe

So here's your answer. You are paying to NC Europe which has to pay VAT not NC NA.
perhaps take into consideration that converting the cash obtained from the transactions into USDollars necessitates a tax and a levy. pass it on to you, and presto - 75 euros becomes 96 euros.

ya really.
Then they should allow us to pay in dollars
i don't like to believe that NC is scamming but...even with tax..., 25E difference is very big! if i like to pay for the pack i will not think 25E more or less, BUT not like this! i am w8ing for a serious OFFICIAL answer from a GM or some1 from NC to explain at least WTF is going on!
Ok really... I see people like ykara to whom it was explained WHY you pay more in euros still complaining. Can't believe in ignorance of some people here.
European accounts are handled by NC Europe which is Located in UK therefore European costumers must pay VAT. If you take 96 EUR, convert to USD you get 128 USD which is 100 USD + 25% VAT + some extra banking fees. Conspiracy unveiled :)

I don't live in EU and I don't understand why I should pay UK taxes. Besides, the VAT in UK is 20%, not 25%, if Google doesn't lie.
They might be super busy.. considering its only five days away from the biggest update ever introduced to L2.
That and yesterday was a holiday, plus they were working up until the wee hours of Wednesday/Thursday getting all the new stuff launched here. If they're working today they're likely catching up, have bigger fish to fry, etc. As important as this is, there's likely dozens of higher priority things for them to deal with right now.
Because you are paying for the service the the company which IS located in the EU which in turn MUST pay VAT.
Why would NCsoft choose their most expensive office in the world to charge me? Philanthropy toward the UK? Or incompetence?
Yea...
I live in Israel, sadly, I selected the "EU territory" option a few years ago when I registered.
May be there is an option to bypass this?
Buying game time cards with USD and converting them to NCcoins (when this option wil be added)? Can I buy game time cars with paypal anywhere?

gamecards.eu is supporting all NCsoft products and offering paypal payments
I know this isn't the best first post one can have on a forum, but what the hell?
VAT or no VAT it's still way too high of a price in 's. And why are GBP's converted correctly if 's aren't?
Besides I've paid some money for online services pretty similar to this before and did NOT have to pay more because of taxes. $100 were ~75. So why does NCSoft have to do this if most others don't (if not all; like I said I only ever had to pay the converted ammount, nothing else)? That's the first time I see something like that.

I believe Chuckshot wants a response from the devs/community reps specifically, hoping to hear, "Due to the VAT costs we'll give European accounts a 25% increase to NCoin bought to compensate."
I personally have no idea what standard practice is for this sort of thing, though. Does Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo, and any game do that if they're affected?

Heh... if nothing else, the expectation is unrealistic given the thread was created on November 24th (Thanksgiving holiday), I would hope they took Black Friday off, there's been a ton of new threads/posters, duplicate threads, its currently the weekend, etc.
If they do answer this question, it won't be on a per-thread basis. Moreover, the community reps and developers aren't the ones who can answer this anyhow - its more a business/management question, and chances are marketing would have to approve the message too.
1200coins=15$. 30 day gamcard cost somethere around 15$
Added bonus - those time cards act like little ads in every store they're in. Buying time cards makes it more likely the store will restock and continue selling them. Also, if you've got any concerns about online payment (no credit/debit card, don't want to expose your information online, etc) or want to give NCoin as a gift, the cards are great! ^_^
I'm a little curious - if the US starts to tax internet sales as well, will the tax get added to our prices as well? Hrm...
Could be worse: NCSoft could equalize the NCoin purchases but then jack up the prices of stuff in-game.
I got the Destiny Promo Pack for 50$
My main account is kinda old (2004) so i still get billed in USD (living in EU). The newer Account gets billed in uros.
Just checked my CreditCard Payments and saw that it did cost 37,92 for the Promo pack.
Guys stop play stupid....I don't believe your brain is equal to monkey brain...or?
If you are telling lies and stupidities about VAT in UK, then why got sake UK Pound is converted more or less correctly? Does it means that UK people do not have to pay the VAT?
