Would love some official info about this.
Ever since the game has come out its been plagued by memory leaks, zero/poor resource management, zero/poor multi-core support etc etc.
I would be VERY pleased to see this game actually function properly on the coding level.

Let the shot problem, DC after porting out of FOG/GC, DC after being in 1 town for 1 day and restarting, DC during anything, critical error during anything, 1FPS during sieges, 0.1FPS during sieges against those_who_cant_be_named and gazillion other issues be an example.

All code is a mess including High Five.
It's a shame. They got millions and millions of dollars in profit and didn't optimize s h i t.
You can have a great game that has great Art and play on GeForce 2. Or some ugly game (Lineage 2 is ugly) that needs 590 GTX. But again 90% of gaming companies consider gamers very stupid and they are paid by GPU/CPU manufacturers to make games that need more GPU/CPU power.
This is a fact. The gaming companies treat gamers like trash. Instead of making great ART & Light Beautiful Textures they are constantly pushing on the wrong way by giving banana effects that don't improve anything.
I bet they just tweaked the colors {more saturated} and added even more shaders + CPU/GPU hog animation for GoD, while reorganizing some areas and upping requirements by another 40%.
Before GoD when entering town with lots of characters the animation of those characters was killing all FPS for 6600 GT + cards.
Is it true that for GoD they optimized the game-world + animations to play more smoothly ?
fail :] l2 isnt gpu "usable " but CPU plays main role in l2 fps i tested it on 9800 gt , 275 gtx , 285 gtx , 560 Ti on core2duo and intel i7 950 . And for this "mmo" main role is : CPU + RAM + SSD !

Yep!!!!
Like AION at 1st relied way to much on the graphics card.... after a few tweaks now the heavy load is more on the CPU
What you really need is now an SSD 2nd generation with ~500 MB/s reading speed, this is the weakest link in any PC now. GPU can be any mid and lowmid card, those are mostly with 256 MB DDR3 and DX10 (like my 8600 GT) and CPU like also my C2Duo E4500 2,2 GHz/core. For memory you are more than fine with 2 GB ram (dual channeled 1+1). My HDD is only a SATAII drive, so thats my weakest link in my PC right now and my next upgrade will be a better video card and an SSD drive, but my current spec. handles GoD really smooth even at sieges (alt+p needed sadly).
btw 6600 GT was a great card, i was able to run with that Crysis 1 at 800x600 medium :D
They didn't improved the art or textures at all.
You are really wrong, they did at several places ;)
L2 is CPU bound, not GPU bound. also, due to the high texture work, you need a FAST AS HELL harddisk. i recomend a SSD, but, if you can't afford one, just pick two fast SD/USBSticks, and install eboostr (from eboostr.com, just 30$), that thing speed up the texture loading.
also, you will know if NC do any improvements by 1-Dec, only wait 2 days more.
do you have any idea if l2 is single threaded? got a 4core processor(3,2GHz), but i still have quite some problems loading giran or any city where masses of other players are running around.

They say SSD's (solid state drives) fix those issues.
