Do any of you feel like this is altering a key aspect of L2? I always enjoyed thinking about which archetype/race/class I was going to play and how you can at least be a little different from some of the others. Now it seems as though there are just going to be 8 generic classes (like every other MMO).
We all had this discussion months ago when we first found out about it. There were 5 stages of grief: Denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and then finally acceptance. Some went through the steps faster than others. But eventually everyone will come to accept it.
At first i wasn't looking forward to it but now it's really the only thing making me want to play. I have all my accounts ready and stuff but i won't play at all till the god update comes out.
Players from Korea (mostly destructor) told us that GoD feels like totally new game and you just can't compare it to old l2. However Koreans found GoD update very fun to play and are enjoying it so far ;)

I believe this is NCSoft's combined efforts to make extend the Lineage legacy as it is since they no longer have Lineage 3 in development due to legal issues. Going into it as a new game is actually a good idea for those that have become bored with the standard Lineage 2.
