I was reading a bit about your F2P things and so on, and it got me interested in one thing.

Reading in between the lines of what you have written, why does it smell to me like after the chapter "Goddess of Destruction" this game might again become a P2P Business model?

IT could be a way to try to make retial bigger again, by having it F2P for a while, most low rate self buff server will surely close or be quite near it.
But turning it back to a P2P would be, in terms of attitude, really bad, but then again, with hundreds of new player coming back, and a another hundred trying it out, and spending alot of time here, might be enought to make them actually consider to play here in a P2P model.
Let's hope this is not gonna happen haha i've been waiting for 7 years for this to come F2P :P

That first one in NO way suggests that it's gonna be p2p later... and the second one is quite easy to understand, how they make their money is now with the NCoin, if they stop getting a source of income, you really don't expect the servers to stay open do you? I think you're just looking for something to be wrong with it and you know what they say, you find what you want to find...

Pfft, I don't even expect the servers to be stable for a week after the update. I'm already taking bets on when the first emergency maint will be. But going back to pay to play will be shooting themselves in a foot with a large calibre rifle...
Well, considering how free to play games work, in order for it to last past the year they have to remove all obstacles to IM sales. This includes bots, hacks, and other forms of foul play. Generally speaking, the people who were profiting off of the private servers will start up RMT adena selling/boosting companies for L2.

Well most of these Private server are also prob based in NA if they so switch to that then it will be super easy now for NcWest to sue and get them shut down even faster then they could with the other companys in other country's
IIRC the actual servers were located in places such as Germany. A quick search on the topic via Google shows Germany as the most common hosting area for such illegal activity, anyways.
