Now, we all know there's been a little bit of rage from everyone regarding the Mentee's Certificate, especially considering the way things were worded on in the patch notes. However, fear not! cafunfox (http://boards.lineage2.com/showpost.php?p=3111186&postcount=26) discovered that you can indeed get the Mentee's Certificate still; its just a slightly round-about way of doing it.
So, we already know that you get a Mentee's Certificate from the LV40 Path to Awakening gift. If you had done your 2nd class change pre-GoD, you were not eligible to pick up this (or previous) gifts on those characters.
While that is true, there is a relatively simple (and quick) solution to this issue.
1.) You will need a character that has not done the second change.
1.a) If you don't have one, then make one.
1.b) It has to be on the same account as your character you want a Mentee's Certificate on.
2.) Level your alternate character to LV38, and do your class change.
3.) Once you have completed your class change, log out.
3.a) Log in on the character you want a Mentee's Certificate on.
4.) Visit http://truly-free.lineage2.com/path and claim the LV40 gift.
5.) You will be able to pick up the gift on the character you ACTUALLY want it on, at the Dimensional Merchant. No transferring of packages or anything required.
5.a) Make sure you have a decent amount of space in your inventory. Regardless of whether you're trying to claim your reward or the reward from another character, you cannot withdraw them if you have too many items in your inventory. Even if you're only close, and not full inventory, it will not allow you to take the items from the Dimensional Merchant until you have opened up more inventory space. Having 20-30 free spaces should do.
And just like that, you're done!
Don't know how to claim your item? Well, its the same as all of your previous ones. You're just logged in on a character that is different than the one you specified on the website.
I just finished leveling an alt 1-40 to get my Mentee's Certificate on my Berserker, who had hit LV40 a day or so before GoD was implemented. And I was definitely one of the people raging about not being able to get my scroll; I had stopped leveling because I thought I'd be able to get it!
So there you have it, quick and simple instructions on how to get your Mentee's Certificate if your character was 40+ pre-GoD.
really this works? if so this is good news for pre-god chars who are not 85 as the grind from 81-85 is where this bonus would become great.

Kaleria meant that if you want to test whether or not you can obtain other character's items through the Dimensional Merchant, you can do it by making a character and testing it with the Character Creation milestone reward.

apparently its been fixed, i lvled alt from 30 to 41, claimed reward, relogged on my main 77 lvl and visit dimensional merchant and i can see those items but i cant retrieve them... :(

When I submit a ticket to NCSoft about the whole Mentee's thing, they claimed that it wasn't possible for them to send out mentee's to everyone in a certain level range. so bleehhh

It's true! But leveling a char up wasn't the issue. It's that this forces me to delete a toon I've worked hard on, and let's face it, come to love. (yes I need professional help :D )

I can't see any way around this. We can't ask support to make an exception and delete chars immediately upon request... cuz you know there would be a lot of ppl out there going red and deleting. :D I'm about to pull up my screen and see who to euthanize. :(

You know what I find funny? When we submitted a ticket in this regard we were told there's nothing they can do, go post on the forums. Now this is the issue: Most veterans will have already reached 85 and Awakened, so there won't be a lot of ppl posting about this on the forums, and NCsoft will take that to mean that it's not a big enough problem for a large amount of players. As a long-term, loyal player, I feel like I got shafted. In hindsight it might have been a good idea to create an NPC who will delevel a toon to 40 and remove their 2nd class change. This would solve other issues as well, like ppl who accidentally chose the wrong class and don't care about losing 20 (for example) levels... just so they can change class, or in my case, earn that Mentee certificate.
So if a forum moderator is reading this post, Support has put the onus on you to facilitate this issue. What are you going to do about the veteran players who cannot benefit from the Mentee Certificate due to this oversight? Thank you in advance. :D
I think Zoc means that every char should have the option to receive a Mentee certificate. And if he wants it on every toon he has already leveled up to 80, he has to delete that toon and wait 7 days for the deletion to occur. Then once he deals with that toon, he has to go in and delete the next toon and start this process all over again. Or he could just delete 7 at once and wait 7 days and have no toons to play. This really is intolerable. We are being penalized for working hard all these years.
I guess we should have just sat at lv 40 and not done our 2nd class change, just in case they implemented something like this. There really needs to be a solution for players in this situation.

There is no help for you. Make a new character and follow the instructions by the letter next time.

You were supposed to go to the Dimensional Merchant on the toon you wanted to accept the Mentee Certificate on. You can't transfer it once it has been accepted.

In other words, log off the level 41 Gladiator you just leveled.

Log in on your level 63 Spell Howler.
4.) Visit http://truly-free.lineage2.com/path and claim the LV40 gift.
Go to the website, log in to it, select your server, select the character you just leveled up and claim the reward.
5.) You will be able to pick up the gift on the character you ACTUALLY want it on, at the Dimensional Merchant. No transferring of packages or anything required.
If you followed directions you should be logged in on your Spell Howler. Talk to the dimensional merchant and select the option to pick up items. Select the Mentee Certificate. Done.

I can't tell if they are saying that characters above level 40 prior to Goddess of Destruction can't claim the reward on the Path to Awakening website, or if they are trying to say that said characters are not supposed to be able to receive this at all. Will be interesting to see what they do if they determine the latter to be the case.

You need to claim it with your lvl 40 char. The newly made 2nd cc.
200% vit + 200% mentor + 50% rune where is 350 from?:confused:
Each bonus is based on the flat rate of 100%, so when it says 200%, it means 100%+100%. Thus with two bonuses, the real math is:
Base+Bonus+Bonus+Bonus
100%+100%+100%+50% = 350%.
To the op, thanks a LOT for this information. I was a little upset when I realized I couldn't become a mentee. It kind of sucks to put any effort into something that NCsoft could have just allowed in the beginning, but such is life.

Go to the Path to Awakening website and claim the item on your level 40 character you just leveled.
Then log in game on your Soultaker and pick up the item from the dimensional merchant.
Has anyone tried to pickup the mentee cert while on a subclass and check that you absolutely can't get a mentor for your subclass?

The way its worked for my clanmates is they have mentor for their main class, and when they sub the buffs wear off. Once they're back on their main class, the buffs return.
