Although we are working to improve the experience of these newbie quests for players on all servers, it's actually quite endearing to see organization form out of the chaos of crowds. :)
This is completely unlike the launch of Lineage 2. I remember spending more time PvP'ing the people in SoDA/RoA when trying to get the limited quest mobs than actually getting a quest mob.
This is impressive. I had more fun in the old days for quest mobs, because of the PvP -- clans would actually lock down zones so their people could farm. But regardless, the passiveness/cooperation of this is absolutely astonishing.
I'm a Gustin/Phoenix/Chronos guy -- but +1 to the Naia community with all sincerity.
Has the game changed that much? I don't think so, really. I think the people just changed.
There is a different breed of people playing now. Back then, when sieges weren't released yet (Early C1), people got their fix of PvP in a different way.
The level cap wasn't quite as insane as it is now. Back then 55+ was a high character. People were more inclined to PvP at lower levels (10+), because that's where the current server majority was.
Over time though, I think the people that made L2 what is was, quit and a new breed moved in, where PvP'ing was for Sieges and for Fortresses. That and alot of people that started playing back then were younger. Had less responsibility in life. They could sit at their desk for extended hours, form up a real proper group, move into GC or AV and kill any opponents and spend quite a few hours actually grinding. The game is still a grinder, no doubt, but I think the players themselves became more casual with it as time went on, which led to people not caring to challenge someone for an exp spot, with the chance that they waste their time, lose the fight and not get to gain any exp for that day.
Has the game changed though? Sure. More leveling spots have been added, the level cap raised, tweaks to the system, etc. But I think the people changed over the course of the game rather than the game itself.
It's actually nice to see that people are willing to organize themselves in order to allow each of them to do the class transfer quest, just tonight on Naia I buffed a huge amount of people for hours while they were waiting for Sakum respawn and was epic :) It's a shame I didn't take screenshot :(
It must be the difference betwen EU players and US players :p (nah just kidding ^^)
BTW thanks GM this afternoon for spawning mass mobs. BUT For this system to be respected, some players had to go PK, and still they cannot decrease their bad reputation by dying, their char are like wasted, since they got killed as soon as they leave and try to kill mobs... Can nothing be done about that ? Like dying decrease your bad reputation by 30~40 each death, and you go to 0...
